PROGRAM NOTE

Voodoo Dolls was commissioned in 2008 and choreographed by the JUMP! Dance Company of Rhode Island, a collaborative work among their faculty and students. The choreography was a suite of dances, each one representing a different traditional children’s doll: Russian dolls, marionettes, rag dolls, Barbie, voodoo dolls… The piece is influenced by west African drumming patterns and lyrical chant motives, all of which feature highlights of improvisation within the ensemble.

I was really excited to try out the Magid touch piano, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The keys were not very responsive, and it was hard to play with accuracy. The sound quality was also mediocre at best. I found myself frustrated and disappointed while using this piano. I would not recommend it to serious pianists.
2. Robert - 2/5
I bought the Magid touch piano thinking it would be a convenient and portable option for practicing on the go. However, I was greatly disappointed. The keys felt flimsy and lacked the authentic feel of a real piano. Additionally, the sound produced was quite artificial and lacked the depth and richness that I was hoping for. Overall, I found the Magid touch piano to be a poor substitute for a real instrument and regretted my purchase.
3. Sarah - 1/5
The Magid touch piano was an absolute nightmare for me. Not only were the keys unresponsive, but the touch sensitivity was all over the place. Sometimes I would lightly press a key, and it would produce a loud and jarring sound, while other times I had to pound on the keys to get any sound at all. It was incredibly frustrating and made practicing a chore rather than an enjoyable experience. I would advise anyone considering the Magid touch piano to look elsewhere for a more reliable and user-friendly option.
