Leah Van Loon was the contributing fashion editor for the September issue of Avenue Magazine featuring 4 local talents and their editorial statements for Fall 2017.

In May 2016 during my week long fashion group tour, I was introduced to the lovely Paula Alaszkiewicz, the assistant curator of the private Louis Vuitton museum curator Judith Clark. Mari made waves first with her book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up which gave people some helpful tools to sort out and organize their entire home.

Magic haven in the swamp

Vibrant-hued birds with shimmering feathers sing melodies that bring tears to your eyes. But it is the creatures of the marsh that truly captivate. Majestic unicorns, with their coats glimmering like moonlight, graze peacefully among the swaying cattails. Mischievous pixies with twinkling wings dart between the trees, their laughter echoing through the swamp. The water holds its own enchantment, reflecting the colors of the sky and the surrounding foliage. When the sun sets, the swamp comes alive with ethereal lights—glowing fireflies that dance among the swamp's inky waters. They create a magical spectacle that is breathtaking to behold, as if the stars themselves had fallen to Earth. But it is the magic wielded by the inhabitants of this haven that truly makes it extraordinary. Ancient sorcerers and witches, with their gnarled staffs and billowing robes, can be seen wandering through the swamp, their spells weaving stories that shape the very fabric of this mystical realm. They create potions from rare herbs, mixing ingredients in bubbling cauldrons, harnessing the power of nature to create elixirs with unimaginable effects. Within this magical haven lies a sanctuary for those seeking solace or answers. The swamp whispers secrets in hushed tones, revealing hidden truths to those who listen. Many come here seeking guidance, hoping to find clarity in a world filled with uncertainty. They leave with hearts filled with newfound knowledge, their souls touched by the ancient wisdom that permeates this place. This magical haven in the swamp is a testament to the beauty and power of the mystical world. It reminds us that there is more to our reality than meets the eye and that there are infinite possibilities waiting to be discovered. It is a refuge for those who believe in the extraordinary, a place where imagination flourishes and magic is real..
