just that metal heads are going to see them as lightweight, and since EVERY feature in the design is to make a LOUDER black beauty, it is likely some marketing slight of hand on assembly or distribution. The lugs themselves and the attaching hardware, strainer and butt plate are the exact same parts used on my World Max Vintage snare which is a very nice drum btw.

This drum is the missing link to the black beauty. Why? I has money down on a black beauty. went in to finally get it. 6 1/2 x 14. thats when i saw the `13x7 magic. tuned it-played it . i fell for it hands down. that 7 deep is the missing link. its tight focused sensitive and has a dynamic tuning range. its a unique sound. side by side with the black beauty i chose ti right away. I played a few shows with it and I alway catch people comming up to the stage to check it out. I know why. its just in your face in a good good way. I was using a 14x6 aluminum tay with wood hoops and this thing sounds just as good and just a little bit better. the magic is brass but the 13 is crisp and the 7 depth growls. tips in my book. i paid 3 bills for it and i paid 800 for the taye and almost 6 for the black beauty. buy the black magic.

Reviews for "Dance with the Dark Side: Exploring Ludwig's Snare Drum with Black Magic Finish"

1. John - 2/5 - I was really disappointed with the Ludwig snare with the black magic finish. The snare drum did not live up to the hype. The sound quality was mediocre at best, and the black magic finish started to chip and peel off after just a few uses. I found that the snare lacked depth and punch, and it sounded rather dull compared to other snare drums in the same price range. Overall, I would not recommend the Ludwig snare with black magic finish to any serious drummers looking for a high-quality snare drum.
2. Sarah - 1/5 - I had high expectations for the Ludwig snare with black magic finish, but it failed to impress me. The drum had a very harsh and piercing sound, which made it quite unpleasant to play. The black magic finish, although it looked nice at first, quickly started to show signs of wear and tear. The hardware on the snare drum also felt cheap and flimsy. I was really disappointed with the overall quality and performance of this snare drum, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
3. Mark - 2/5 - I purchased the Ludwig snare with black magic finish after hearing great things about it, but I was quite disappointed with my purchase. The drum lacked versatility and had a limited range of sound. It was difficult to produce a nice warm tone, and it sounded rather thin and flat. Additionally, the black magic finish easily showed fingerprints and smudges, which was quite frustrating. I ended up selling the snare drum and investing in a different brand that offered better sound and durability.
