El proyecto de la bruja de Blair revolucionó la manera de hacer cine en el verano de 1999. Hasta entonces, no nos habíamos encontrado con una campaña de marketing basada en el "found footage" es decir, películas grabadas en una cámara doméstica, como si se hubiesen encontrado así.
Y la verdad es que si entrábamos en la historia, y nos creíamos que aquello había sucedido de verdad, el último tramo sí era capaz de ponernos los pelos de punta (en particular los últimos planos en el interior de la casa).
La clave del terror en The Blair Witch Project no estaba en lo que aparecía en pantalla (planos movidos, gente asustada y un bosque impenetrable) sino en lo que se podía imaginar el espectador. Y ése es el mismo recurso que aprovecha el videojuego.
