Tucked away just off busy Highway 192 in Kissimmee, 24 miles from Orlando International Airport, Magic Village has a sense of quiet relaxation that is a welcome contrast to the areas surrounding this compact resort. Disney’s theme parks are two miles away, while SeaWorld is 11 miles distant and Universal Orlando 15 miles. Nearby shopping and dining options are plentiful and the Lynx bus runs along Highway 192, but requires a 15-minute walk from the resort. A hire car is advisable.

Style and Character

The elegant two-storey three and four-bedroom townhouse-style condos have all the luxury and convenience of a villa. Each has a bright, contemporary kitchen and living room, as well as an inviting patio. Designer decorative items and soft furnishings add a homely feel. Kitchens boast stainless steel appliances, plus a built-in microwave and granite counter tops. Wall-mounted televisions enhance the modern feel, as does an upstairs balcony adjoining each master bedroom, which has two super-comfy sun-loungers. The sleek pool area is a gorgeous hangout for evening drinks.

Service and Facilities

The multilingual 24-hour clubhouse staff are eager, professional and knowledgeable about the area’s vast array of choice. A dedicated concierge can make dining reservations, secure theme park tickets, golf tee-times or a private chef, and have a hire car delivered to the resort. The facilities are all about the central clubhouse, featuring a spacious fitness room, kids playroom and chic restaurant, while the superb zero-entry pool makes for an eye-catching focal point.

Rooms

Decorated in soft cream, tan and gold, the condos have a one-downstairs/two-three upstairs bedroom arrangement, with one of the upstairs rooms featuring a furnished balcony. Every bedroom is en-suite, in addition to a separate ground-floor toilet. High-quality bedding ensure a sound night’s sleep, and bathrooms are immaculate. All homes have free Wi-Fi and televisions in both the lounge and bedrooms. A full laundry room featuring Whirlpool washing machines and dryers are ideal for those staying for two weeks or more. Some homes have a view of the nightly Disney fireworks, while others have a patio hot tub.

Food and Drink

There is only one restaurant, but it is good quality. Villaggio features a Brazilian-Italian menu, with highly appetising antipasti platters and salads, rich pasta dishes, panini sandwiches, fish and steaks, plus an extensive fresh pizza choice. Breakfast is served from 8-10.30am, while there is a pizza buffet twice a week and a family-style lunch on Sundays, with a choice of two types of steak, rice, fries and vegetables. Another highlight is the Saturday Brazilian Feijoada buffet, offering a selection of roast meats and vegetables. There is a slimmed-down menu for pool-side service and a great selection of wines, beers and cocktails. The Sake Caipirinha is a superb sundown choice.
