Magic is a central aspect of the Pathfinder role-playing game, and investigating its mysteries can provide hours of entertainment for players and Game Masters alike. In the world of Pathfinder, magic is not simply a tool or ability to be wielded; it is an intricate and complex force that is deeply intertwined with the fabric of the universe. One of the key aspects of investigating the mysteries of magic in Pathfinder is understanding its different forms and sources. There are several different types of magic in the game, including arcane magic, divine magic, and psychic magic. Each type has its own distinct mechanics and rules, as well as unique flavor and role-playing opportunities. Arcane magic is perhaps the most well-known and iconic form of magic in Pathfinder.
Of course there are some not happy with Maria's action like the mercenary's and other witches who profit from war somehow, but it's kinda hard to feel bad for them. As she said, they should find other work.
The fighting contains arrow volleys, duels, and other battle-centric moments; the beasts are often larger-than-life with fluid movements of their own; and characters perform their own separate actions, whether during conversational segments or during other situations. As one of the most powerful witches of her era, she can be like a godsend when her arrival happens to save one s life, but to many, her antics are a costly, insurmountable obstacle.
Arcane magic is perhaps the most well-known and iconic form of magic in Pathfinder. It is the kind of magic used by wizards, sorcerers, and other spellcasters who study and manipulate the forces of magic. Arcane magic is often associated with intellect, study, and precision, and it relies on the use of spellbooks and memorized spells.
Junketsu no Maria (Maria the Virgin Witch)
So I just watched the 1st episode. Thought it was pretty cool.
Also, nice dragon summoning.
Shlugo_the_great King of Burgers Since: Sep, 2009 Relationship Status: Tsundere'ing King of BurgersThis series seems interesting. A witch going around stopping battle during Hundred's Years war? That's pretty cool. And I like the magic. Definitively will keep on watching.

This one definitely needs another episode at least to see where it was going. The witches have the best fashion sense since Witch Craft Works.
Also, poor dragon.

Face me now, Bitch!Rather fun watch.
Madonis Since: Jan, 2001I liked this a lot, including the setting, ambience, battle sequence and character interactions, but then again I've read the manga, even past the point where translations end. I already knew what to expect.
The show hasn't really gone into enough detail about several things, but I would say the plot is quite simple even when all the elements do come into play.
I wouldn't consider it episodic though. It's more of a character tale with a few surprisingly thoughtful parts, regardless of the always silly jokes about sex, than a great fantasy adventure about saving the world. Just warning that's not what is going to happen here.

Joseph is a real man.
Shlugo_the_great King of Burgers Since: Sep, 2009 Relationship Status: Tsundere'ing King of BurgersI really like magic in this series look pretty.
They will remind us that Maria is virgin each episode right?
Also, it seems Angels are total dicks. I totally agree that Maria did nothing wrong.
Joseph is cool guy.
Jedi1113 Since: Jun, 2009Michael is an asshole, that is all.
Diamite Rainy Echoes Since: Jul, 2013 Rainy Echoes. So, it's a sin to stop injustices from occurring in front of your eyes because other parts of the world are having a hard time as well, therefore it's better that everyone everywhere suffers equally.
. Yeah, I'm siding with Maria on this one.
. Maybe it's because the Valkyries filed a complaint about not collecting valiant souls from that region?

KnightofNASA Since: Jan, 2013Michael just told Maria to grow the eff up.
NG14916 Since: May, 2010Michael is a hypocrite. He only meddles in the real world to stop someone who's saving lives? I hope this show isn't going to take the stance that God and the angels are actually right because I'd find it very hard to believe.
Gilphon Untrustworthy from The Third Sound Since: Oct, 2009 Relationship Status: Having tea with Cthulhu
UntrustworthyHe only meddles to stop people who are doing too much magical meddling, I believe. Precisely what they were trying to accomplish with said magic seems less important; I certainly don't think he'd be any kinder if somebody start using summons to level cities.
But- Maria's the main character here; of course he's not supposed to be the good guy. He's morally neutral at best.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."
fillerdude from Inside Since: Jul, 2010 Relationship Status: Getting away with murderApparently valkyries are also a thing in this setting. Hmmm.
Did Joseph just shoot an angel? You brave, foolish mortal, you.
Madonis Since: Jan, 2001Episode three was quite nice, expanding the complications and finally getting to what people assumed the show would be about, but in a different way.
Shlugo_the_great King of Burgers Since: Sep, 2009 Relationship Status: Tsundere'ing King of BurgersGod was like "Dammit Michael, you are making us look like such a jerks! Town it down a little!"
If it's for Maria, Joseph won't even falter before an archangel. He's a good guy.
She will lose her powers with her virginity? Now they are just being petty.
Ezekiel can totally use some Butt-Monkey treatment
I like how Maria doesn't back down after all and sticks it to the angels. Thankfully Ezekiel is terrible at her job so she can continue doing her stuff.
In case you are wondering, yep animal trials were a thing back there. Funny times, those Middle Ages.
Ha, as if she would take that offer.
For a Japanese show, the understanding of Middle Ages is amazing. I wonder where it'll go from here on.
Gilphon Untrustworthy from The Third Sound Since: Oct, 2009 Relationship Status: Having tea with Cthulhu
UntrustworthyIt's interesting, really. The research has clearly been done here, and there aren't even any actual misunderstandings. Things are just. emphasized different than they tend to be.
Like, Micheal leans towards the 'soulless quasi-Eldritch Abomination' type angel that's totally in the Bible but doesn't show up much in Western culture. And the Monks shave the tops of their head, but that doesn't prevent the blonde guy from having beautiful hair.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."
Diamite Rainy Echoes Since: Jul, 2013 Rainy EchoesI know my Middle Ages, but I can't recall animals getting judged at all. So yeah, that surprised me a little.
Ezekiel really should've kept the illusion going. But thanks to her little slip, Maria can still stop wars. Thanks for your patronage!
Shlugo_the_great King of Burgers Since: Sep, 2009 Relationship Status: Tsundere'ing King of BurgersAnother excellent episode, both funny and though provoking. This show doesn't shy from looking frankly at the whole situation.
Maria isn't wrong in what she's doing. Of course it's impossible for one person to save everyone but ignoring those who she can help isn't an answer.
Priapos has point, just believing is easy, it means you don't have to think. It's what allows angels to not have any empathy towards humans and be sanctimonious pricks.
Of course there are some not happy with Maria's action like the mercenary's and other witches who profit from war somehow, but it's kinda hard to feel bad for them. As she said, they should find other work.
Well, that's for though provoking, now the funny.
What's with this show obsession with sex and virginity? Everyone really wants for Maria to get laid. It's so weird yet really funny.
MyssaRei Since: Feb, 2010The manga kind of plays up the sex jokes too, but offset it with some of the nastier parts of Medieval sexuality as well — stuff like clergymen seducing orphans just to set them up to be burned at the stake for example.
Gilphon Untrustworthy from The Third Sound Since: Oct, 2009 Relationship Status: Having tea with Cthulhu
UntrustworthySo what I got out of this episode is that Priapos and Ekeziel need to smooch. Like, I basically spend every second they were onscreen together getting annoyed about them not smooching. I'm sure some other stuff happened, but that's what I got.

Shlugo_the_great King of Burgers Since: Sep, 2009 Relationship Status: Tsundere'ing King of BurgersYeah, I was surprised that manga is even more merciless in it's portrayal of the church. The anime already isn't sugarcoating thing but the manga even more so.
Also surprised that Joseph doesn't show up much compared to anime.

What I don't get about this is how come Maria is the only one who get's flack from St. Michael. He doesn't seem to bug the other witches. Or Artemis for that matter.
Maybe he just like her style of summoning Kaiju. :)

Reviews for "Investigating the Primal Magic of Druids in Pathfinder: Channeling Nature's Forces"
- John Doe - 1 star
I was really excited to read "Investigating the mysteries of magic in pathfinder" since I'm a huge fan of the Pathfinder game. However, I was extremely disappointed with this book. The author seemed to go on and on about irrelevant details and tangents, making it really hard to follow the main thread of the book. Additionally, the explanations of magic were convoluted and confusing, leaving me more confused than enlightened. Overall, I found this book to be a waste of time and money.

As someone who is new to the Pathfinder game, I was hoping that "Investigating the mysteries of magic in pathfinder" would be a helpful guide to understand the magic system. Unfortunately, I found the book to be overwhelming and hard to comprehend. The author assumes a level of knowledge that I simply do not have, and instead of explaining things in a beginner-friendly way, they delve into complex concepts without proper explanations. I ended up feeling even more lost and frustrated with the magic system than before. I would not recommend this book to new players.

I had high hopes for "Investigating the mysteries of magic in pathfinder" as an avid fan of the Pathfinder game. However, I found this book to be lacking in depth and substance. The author barely scratches the surface of the mysteries of magic and fails to truly explore the nuances of the Pathfinder magic system. The information provided is generic and lacks any original insights or fresh perspectives. I was left feeling like I didn't learn anything new or important. This book was a major letdown.
