Shadows and Secrets: Uncovering Historical Occult Traces in 2020

By admin

The occult has long been a fascinating and mysterious topic in human history, with its origins dating back to ancient civilizations. While the belief and practice of the occult have ebbed and flowed in popularity over the centuries, traces of its influence can still be found in the modern world. Even in 2020, the occult continues to leave its mark in various aspects of society, albeit in more subtle and covert ways. One of the main ways in which the occult manifests itself in contemporary times is through the growing popularity of alternative spiritual practices such as astrology, tarot card reading, and crystal healing. These practices, once considered taboo or fringe, have now become mainstream and widely accepted. Many individuals turn to these methods for guidance, comfort, and self-discovery.

How the music can free her, whenever it starts And it s magic, if the music is groovy It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie I ll tell you about the magic and it ll free your soul But it s like tryin to tell a stranger bout rock and roll If you believe in magic, don t bother to choose If it s jug band music or rhythm and blues Just go and listen, it ll start with a smile It won t wipe off your face, no matter how hard you try Your feet start tapping and you can t seem to find How you got there, so just blow your mind If you believe in magic, come along with me We ll dance until mornin til there s just you and me And maybe, if the music is right I ll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night And we ll go dancing, baby, then you ll see How the magic s in the music and the music s in me Yeah, do you believe in magic. If you believe in magic, come along with me We ll dance until mornin til there s just you and me And maybe, if the music is right I ll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night And we ll go dancing, baby, then you ll see How the magic s in the music and the music s in me.

The Lovin' Spoonful – Do You Believe In Magic

As an audiophile, I typically add reviews to records when they sound and recording quality is exceptional. For whatever reason this record is close to an audiophile quality record. Very punchy and super dynamic. Strange to see another review stating the complete opposite.

This is a charming debut, good time music (I agree with the proclamation on the back cover), and more bluesy at times than the hit singles would suggest. "Fishin' Blues" is irresistible, and "Wild About My Lovin'" is also an underrated gem. I've got an original mono pressing, and it's got a surprisingly rich low end and a nice full sound. My copy has seen better days, with snaps, crackles, pops, and a couple of skips. Surprised there weren't more skips. it plays better than it looks.

immanipper Jul 13, 2023 Not a particularly exciting or punchy mono pressing, kind of flat and boring, actually. drbluzer Jun 12, 2023 Edited 4 months ago

"DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC"(1965) by THE LOVIN' SPOONFUL features the title hit song "DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC" (track 'A1') and "DID TOY EVER HAVE TO MAKE UP YOUR MIND" (track 'B1') . One of the best blues harp instrumental is "NIGHT OWL BLUES" (track B6) , which is an edited version at 3:00 . There is a much longer unedited version at 4:40 on certain releases .

This pressing sounds great. It's much clearer and more dynamic than the Sundazed versions, mono or stereo. Only problem is that it's a typical, bad 60s stereo mix with the vocals only in one channel. If you don't mind that, this is the next best thing to a mint original US mono pressing.

Excellent pressing, really high quality all round. Next to no surface noise, excellent sound quality and really well cut physically. Sleeve is also very well printed on thick card and feels very sturdy. Lots of care has gone into this reissue.

Anyone else think Blues in a Bottle sounds like early Kings of Leon? Not a bad début, the traditional covers are pretty much straight ahead blues rock and all executed OK, but just lack a little potency. "Straight Ahead Blues" is probably the best of those. The original tunes are the ones that stand out for me, my favourite being the instrumental closer "Night Owl Blues".

Yeah, do you believe in magic?
Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl's soul
Believe in the magic of rock and roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
Oh, talkin' 'bout magic
