Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Gets February Release Date & Gameplay Trailer

Bungie has given its latest expansion, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, a February 22, 2022 release date for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Stadia players. The game developer announced the news during its live Destiny 2 Showcase event today, revealing a Witch Queen cinematic trailer and gameplay trailer containing plenty of new details about the future of its live-service sci-fi shooter. The video is mostly a tone-setter for the game’s twisted story continuation, but it’s certainly enough to garner some excitement, nonetheless. See the Witch Queen, Savathun, in action in the cinematic trailer below.

Meanwhile, the gameplay trailer for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen shows the innards of Savathun’s throne world. One of the highlights of the trailer is the Glaive, an energy weapon that doubles as a close-range bladed staff. One twist to the weapon is that players will have to build it themselves, creating with Destiny 2’s new weapon-crafting mechanic. At launch, players will have the freedom to craft all weapons from Savathun’s Throne World, new raid weapons, and the new seasonal weapons, with Bungie promising more support for crafting coming post-launch.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen might be the newest addition to Bungie’s lineup of content for the FPS, but it’s far from the last. After that content launches early next year, players have Destiny 2: Lightfall to look forward to. Then the Light and Darkness saga will conclude with Destiny 2: The Final Shape, an expansion that had its title revealed during the stream today. After Destiny 2’s first major saga comes to a close with The Final Shape, the game will continue with more major updates and expansions.

To help set the stage for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Bungie released another trailer for the game’s upcoming season: Season of the Lost. The season kicks off today, August 24, and will continue through February 22, 2022 (which, to reiterate, is the release date of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen). See some of the new content arriving this month below.

The 2021 Destiny 2 Showcase explained that more quality-of-life improvements are coming in the future, such as enhanced anti-cheat measures, and a free Bungie 30th Anniversary event is coming this December. With the event comes a new six-player activity with new rewards to earn. There will also be a Bungie 30th Anniversary pack that players can purchase, giving access to a Thorn-inspired armor set, cosmetics themed around Bungie itself, a pirate-themed dungeon, and more. Perhaps most importantly, though, those who purchase the pack will gain the opportunity to go hands-on with the return of Destiny’s Gjallarhorn.

Reviews for "The Power of the Paw: Exploring the Griz Bear Mascot's Symbolism"

1. Sara - ★☆☆☆☆
I attended a sporting event where the Griz bear mascot was present, and I must say, I was not impressed. The costume looked worn out and dirty, which diminished any excitement I had. Additionally, the movements of the mascot were awkward and not in sync with the music playing in the background, making it difficult to enjoy the performance. Overall, I found the Griz bear mascot to be underwhelming and in need of some serious improvements.
2. John - ★★☆☆☆
As someone who has witnessed several mascots over the years, the Griz bear left a lot to be desired. The overall appearance of the costume looked cheap and poorly designed. The bear's movements were sluggish and lacked the energy and enthusiasm one expects from a mascot. It failed to engage with the crowd and lacked any originality in its performance. To be honest, I found the Griz bear mascot forgettable, and it didn't leave a positive impression on me.
3. Emily - ★★☆☆☆
I was excited to see the Griz bear mascot, but unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The costume itself seemed outdated and faded, making it difficult to connect with. Furthermore, the movements of the mascot were awkward and robotic, lacking any fluidity and naturalness. I believe the Griz bear mascot needs a major revamp to captivate the audience and leave a lasting impression.
