You should check out The Legend Of The Dark Witch (Especially if you like Mega Man)

So I was browsing the eShop last week and saw the trailer for The Legend of the Dark Witch. Looked like a simple action game and it was the equivalent of something like $5 so I thought "why not?". I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. I can imagine that the aesthetics might turn some people off, but it wasn't something I really noticed after playing for a while.

So the game. There are many similiarities to the Mega Man games, with the tempo of the X-series rather than the slower paced original. You start with 6 stages available and each boss gives you her special ability (All characters aside from regular enemies were female from what I could tell). Each special weapon is useful against a certain boss. But, they've also incorporated an interesting mechanic similar to the one from the Gradius games. At the bottom of your screen you have different bars with different power ups (like speed, spread shot and shield). Every enemy you kill fills the bar, as well as giving you some "currency" which can be used buy upgrades between stages. Each time you take a hit you also lose some of the aquired energy.

There are three difficulties. I played on normal which in my opinion gave a decent challenge. The most difficult part was beating the first boss. After that it became easier, since I also got the hang of the game. The boss abilities didn't really make a difference until the final stage, where I'd say they are necessary.

I'd say it's definitely worth checking out, especially if you like Mega Man. It's certainly not as polished as some of those games, but I got more out of it than what it cost. Took me around three hours to beat. There's a second character unlocked when you beat the game and there are several other unlockables after you beat the game, if you're in to that kind of thing.

Reviews for "The Garbage Pandas Mascot: A Symbol of Environmental Awareness"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the Garbage pandas mascot. It was just not appealing at all. The costume looked cheap and poorly made. It didn't even remotely resemble a raccoon, which is what I was expecting. The design and colors were also not very eye-catching. Overall, I felt let down by the mascot and it definitely didn't enhance my experience at all.
2. John - 1 star - The Garbage pandas mascot was a complete joke. It was utterly ridiculous and just looked silly trying to dance and entertain the crowd. I couldn't take it seriously at all. The costume looked like it was from a dollar store and the movements were awkward and stiff. It also didn't help that the mascot didn't interact much with the audience, which made it even more underwhelming. I would prefer if they didn't have a mascot at all rather than this embarrassing attempt.
3. Emily - 2 stars - I have to say, the Garbage pandas mascot was a major disappointment. Not only did it look unprofessional, but it also seemed out of place. The concept of a raccoon as the mascot for a sports team is odd enough, but the execution was even worse. The costume didn't fit properly and it was clear that whoever was inside was struggling to move around. It didn't add any excitement or fun to the game, and I would rather have a mascot that actually brings some energy and enthusiasm to the crowd.
4. Mark - 2 stars - The Garbage pandas mascot was just plain boring. It lacked any creativity or uniqueness. It was like they just took a generic raccoon costume and slapped on the team's logo. There was no personality or charm to the mascot, and it felt like an afterthought rather than something that was meant to engage the audience. I expected more from a professional sports team's mascot, and this one simply didn't deliver.
