Fire Spell Compact Fridges: Combining Magic and Convenience

By admin

I recently came across a unique product called the fire spell compact fridge. This innovative appliance is not just an ordinary fridge, but it also has some intriguing features that make it stand out from the rest. The **main idea** behind the fire spell compact fridge is its ability to keep your food and drinks cool while also providing an added element of entertainment. One of the **main features** of the fire spell compact fridge is the inclusion of a built-in sound system. This means that while you are enjoying a cool beverage or grabbing a snack from the fridge, you can also enjoy your favorite tunes or podcasts. The sound quality is impressive, providing a dynamic and immersive audio experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find the answer to your question, please reach out to my assistant Nicki at [email protected] or fill out my contact form.

How do you pronounce your name?

Not like it looks :) Sadly for most everyone I meet, my name is not Carissa haha. It's pronounced Shareesa. Like Teresa but with an Sh sound at the beginning.

Are you indie or traditionally published?

Indie. I am published through City Owl Press, a small press.

Will you ever self-publish? What about traditional publishing?

It's definitely possible that I will self-publish more romantic fantasy after The Witch Walker series. We shall see! As for my historical fantasy, I will most likely try the trad route. I’m planning on querying a project in 2024 or 2025.

How many books will be in the Witch Walker Series?

There are five planned. Four novels and one long novella.

What is the release schedule for the books in the series?

This is a tentative schedule, but for now:

Book #1, The Witch Collector, released on November 2, 2021

Book #2, City of Ruin, released September 27th, 2022

Book #3, The Wolf and the Witch, released March 28th, 2023

Book #4, Kingdom of the Forgotten, scheduled for March 12, 2024

Book #5, A Gods' War: Tentative release, Fall/Winter 2024

Will all the books be available in hardcover like The Witch Collector?

Yes. All the books will have hardcover editions as well as paperback and ebook.

How can I receive an eARC of your future books?

For eARC opportunities, become a member of my Facebook reading group, Charissa's Rebel Readers, where beta and arc opportunities are announced. I also have a Patreon and those members on all tiers automatically receive eARC’s after 3 months of membership.

Do you do merchandising license agreements?

Yes! Non-exclusive only. You can complete this merch application form or email us at [email protected] after Jan. 1 2024 for other merch inquiries.

How can I get signed books?

I offer signed books in my Etsy store along with other merch. For updates, be sure to follow me on Insta and subscribe to my newsletter. The following is the tentative signed book availability. The shop will remain open all year, but signed books will only be sold one month out of each quarter.

Q3 2024 (Holiday and Book 5 Pre-Order)

Are your books available at my library?

Very possibly. If they're not, you can always request that your library order them. Library staff are usually very accommodating to reader requests.

Do you give author blurbs?

You are welcome to reach out with a request, but blurbs are not guaranteed due to current time constraints with my publishing schedule. I do ask that your book be in my genre before you consider requesting.

Will your books be in audio?

YES! The Witch Collector and City of Ruin are out now! Stay tuned for news on the rest.

Can I participate in future cover reveals?

Absolutely. Join my Facebook reader group for opportunities or watch my Instagram for announcements.

Will the Witch Walker series ever be in Kindle Unlimited?

I can't say for sure, but it's doubtful. KU limits readership, and I have readers across many platforms and in many countries.

Will the Witch Walker series be printed in other languages?

Yes! Editora Charme has purchased rights for Portuguese editions, Wonderbooks for Spanish editions, Editions Bookmark for French editions, and Olimpos Yayınları for Turkish editions.

Will you be doing a US book tour?

At this time, no. If you'd like to find out where you can meet me and which book events/signings I'll be attending, check my Events page and watch my Instagram for updates.

Will you be at Apollycon 2024?

Yes! I will be attending Apollycon in April 2024 in Washington, DC as well as RARE PARIS and Edinburgh. See my events page for more info.

Do you have a newsletter?

Yes! Click here to subscribe.

Do you suggest any resources for writers?

Yes! Visit my For Writers page for more info.

Where can I read more of your work?

The Witch Collector is my debut novel. It was originally a novella, but the anthology it was printed in is no longer available. I write bonus scenes for my Patreon members every month. I also have a novella titled Silver Heart that I am still considering re-releasing. Published, I have a YA short story, Yeva and the Green Garden, that was picked up for an audio anthology by Remastered Words, a UK publisher.

What was your inspiration for making Raina a person who cannot speak vocally? And why did you use singing an old language as part of the magick system?

My mother was a special education teacher for 25 years and also a piano teacher. She started learning ASL when I was about 10 years old, and she also translated the lyrics of songs via sign. I didn't realize until after she died, when I found her sign language books, how much that part of her life impacted me and my writing. I remember very little, but I'm hoping to re-learn ASL once this series is done.

As for the music. Both of my parents played instruments and sang, as did my entire family (including me!), even much of my extended family, so the musical part of the magick system was natural to me.

Why do you not call Raina 'mute?'

Calling someone 'a mute' or 'mute' has been used in derogatory ways toward non-speaking people and especially members of the Deaf community as a label meant to other or as a slur. It also isn’t correct in a medical sense for those with hearing loss, yet they often get labeled as deaf-mute or deaf-dumb.

Raina can hear, yes, but because of the negative connotation attached to the word and because of the derogatory crossover with the Deaf community and because I have a responsibility to a general audience, I avoid using it as a descriptor.

Why did you choose to use SEE (Signed Exact English) in the book?

Signed languages are languages that use a visual-manual approach to communication. There is no universal signed language. For instance, BSL (British Sign Language) is a different language from ASL (American Sign Language). Sign languages have their own grammar and use hand movements, sign order, and body and facial cues to create that grammar, as well as gaze direction, blinks, and rests.

For ease of reading, the fictional sign language in this novel reads as if it were SEE (Signing Exact English).

Why magick and not magic?

Years ago, while researching for a time travel novel, I came across information on the delineation between magic and magick, and I prefer magick. An explanation from the Llewellyn website, an article by Donald Michael Kraig: Most people reading this will know that adding the “k” to “magic” is not merely an affectation. Rather, it is a way to discriminate between the entertainment known for pulling rabbits out of hats (magic) and techniques for harnessing internal and external energies that will help us change ourselves and our environment (magick). I like to define the difference simply as “Magic is an attempt to imitate magick, by artificial means, as part of entertainment.” Although the spelling with the “k” has a long history (there was a time when manuscript copyists were paid by the letter, resulting in the many words with needless double and multiple letters), it was Aleister Crowley who is credited with using the spelling to mark this difference.

Wow am I sad i waited so long to read this - this was my first e arc on netgalley and I am so grateful it was shared with me. If you like. ❄️The frost king ⚔️Enemies to lovers 🐈‍⬛Witches ✨Unusual magic system 👹Old gods 💁‍♀️Disability representation in FMC 💪Strong FMC This one is for you! I loved the romance and old style folklore stories and how they cleverly tie in. Such a creative and intricate world. The FMC can't speak and needs to use sign language, and I love this representation in fantasy stories that are shared so rarely. My one criticism? The FMC fell in love a bit too fast for me and of course it is the strongest and most wonderful love that can exist. but some people love that. Highly recommend! Again, disappointed I waited so long to read this one. Straight in to the next one I go.

Y’all I have no words. Have you ever read a book and immediately have to begin the sequel? Um this book is that good. Honestly, this may be my favorite read of 2023 so far (& I read CC2 in Jan)! I love how we begin this story thinking we have an idea who the villains will be but through the course of the story, it becomes extremely apparent it’s much more complicated than it seems. This is a story about a girl with no voice, literally, and vengeance to deliver. This is one of those, find the power within stories, and it’s really just a lot to unpack. Loss, fear, acceptance; these are just a few of the things we watch Raina struggle through. And let me tell you, it’s an emotional rollercoaster. Our mmc Alexus, is seriously magnificent. He is everything you want in a long-haired, strong-armed, flawed-hero. And you will root for him the whole way through. Both characters are so complex and just raw, they go on quite the adventure and both experience well-developed growth. We do have a slow-burn, enemies to lovers, romance, but honestly the story is so enthralling that you don’t even notice it till then end. And it comes so naturally. Furthermore, I seriously love the world building so much. The world it so captivating and the people are so interesting. Our author is an amazing storyteller, the detail and imagery has a way of making you feel within the story itself.

1) I think I needed more form the world building. 2) the FMC and MMC fall in love over a very short span of time, and anything resembling insta-love gives me the ick. thank you Netgalley for the ebook in exchange for an honest review

"Mother used to say that grief always strikes when we least expect it, and that we rarely realize how those we love inhabit even the most seemingly inconsequential parts of our lives." Thank you Netgalley and City Owl Press for a copy of this book for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I discovered The Witch Collector when I was looking for New Adult fantasy in 2021 and finally got around to reading it. When I was looking at reviews to see if I wanted to request an ARC, I saw this tagged as an enemies to lovers slow burn, so I excitedly requested. I am DNFing at 50%, but from what I read this read a lot more like an unrequited love story with the miscommunication/misunderstanding trope than enemies to lovers. I want to say that I think both the writing and research for this seemed great! I would absolutely try another book by this author in the future! My main gripe about this book is that I don't really care for the MMC. I'm unsure of how old he is, but he's seemingly been into the FMC for years (I realize typing this that the synopsis says she's 24 so that's significantly less creepy than when I thought she was 18 haha but) just from seeing her from a distance and hearing about her from his sister? I wanted to know more about why he seemed to have feelings for her pre-book, and this felt a little contradictory, as he comments that he's drawn to how fiery and stubborn she is, but then later he thinks to himself maybe he can tame her?? He also calls her pathetic and useless(he does apologize), but I was not vibing with him and felt it was missing some key element to the buildup/tension. It could improve later in the book, but I didn't feel intrigued enough to finish. I'm very torn on this one and may come back to it to skim the second half another month. I also really, really loved that the main character was non-speaking and used sign language! That was so nice to see in a fantasy novel! There was also a little non-romance-related plot twist towards the middle that had me on the edge of my seat as I watched it unravel. Rating this as one star for now, but I will update the rating if I come back and continue!

I really really wanted to fall for this book, but I just couldn't find my connection with Raina no matter how much I tried. I am also hit or miss when it comes to insta love and this was a miss for me with Alexus, now if it was a slow burn with love halfway I would have given it a four.

I put this book aside three times because I just couldn’t get into the characters, the world building or anything about it. I almost gave up at about 12% in but I persevered and finally at about 25% I started to like the story and characters. So, that means it started off slow and never really go t into fast paced action but it was an interesting story. The story begins in Raina’s village where every year the witch collector arrives to take the strongest young female witch to join the service of the Frost King. Raina is a young mute witch with no witch marks so is seemingly without much power so is not of interest to the Frost King. She hates the witch Collector and the King and thinks about nothing but killing them. One day a rival army invades and threatens to destroy all that Raina has loved and she finds she must work with past enemies to save the ones she loves. Overall this was a slow read but I did after a fashion like the premise of the story. I will probably read the next book in the series at some point. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I tried more than once to read this book but after several chapters I was unable to proceed. I don't know if it was the unusual names, writing style or time period but it just didn't grip me enough to continue.

I really wanted to enjoy this book more but I found myself bored through quite a bit of the story. I actually wish there was more world building. The characters were okay but the relationship felt like there was something missing. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author Charissa Weaks for this ARC. This is my honest opinion This book really played with my feelings. I didn’t know at first if I would be able to immerse myself in the story, this is the first book I read where the main character is silent. But the author managed to make this detail important in the book but not disabling. The beginning of the book poses the context of the universe, the kingdoms, and the magic that exists. I really liked this universe different from what we can read now where the stories are regularly similar. From the moment the story really starts, we chain moments of action, feelings, and romance. There is no real-time out in this book and I loved the tempo of the story. Now, romance! aaaaaaah this romance. It is not a usual enemy to lovers because our collector is already very attached to our heroine, which is far from being a shared feeling. I loved the evolution of emotions and the destruction of the "myth" that our heroine has created throughout her life that disintegrates as she learns more pieces of information. The alchemy between the two characters is really felt through the dialogues of the author and I have a massive crush on them. I can’t wait to read Volume 2

I am sadly in the minority of people that did not love this book. I was recommended this book by so many people - as a mix between SJM and Naomi Novik's Spinning Silver. While there was some things I really liked about it, such as the representation, other things fell short for me. It seemed too similar to so many other books I have read - that being said, I do want to know what happens so I will continue on in the series. I received a copy of this book via NetGalley (thank you City Owl Press). All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Unfortunately, I was unable to finish this book fully before it was removed from the site. However, what I did read was entertaining, with clever world-building and well thought-out characters. There were certain parts that I thought were drawn out longer than necessary and, therefore, made me less interested in continuing reading, but overall the half of the book I did read was enjoyable and I was disappointed not to find out what happened at the end. 3 out of 5 stars.

This was a very interesting fantasy. The characters are all realistic and complex. The world-building was very immersive. The writing is very beautiful with lush descriptions. The only thing I did not like about this book was that it was very slow moving. Still, I recommend this for fans of Marie Lu, Livia Blackburne, and Holly Black!

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this book. I found this to be a pretty enjoyable read! Good worldbuilding and interesting characters. Sometimes it felt a little slow/flat but would make up for it in the next scene. I will be keeping my eye out for more!

Reviews for "How Fire Spell Compact Fridges Can Save Energy and Money"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the Fire spell compact fridge. Firstly, it did not cool my food and drinks properly, despite setting it to the lowest temperature. Secondly, the size was not as compact as advertised, taking up more space on my countertop than I anticipated. Lastly, the noise it made was incredibly annoying and disruptive. Overall, I would not recommend this fridge as it failed to meet my expectations and was quite a frustrating experience.
2. Michael - 1 star - The Fire spell compact fridge was a complete waste of money. Not only did it fail to cool my items effectively, but it also consumed a lot of energy, resulting in higher electricity bills. The build quality was also questionable, as the door seal became loose within a month, causing the cool air to escape. I reached out to customer service for assistance, but they were unresponsive and unhelpful. I regret buying this fridge and would advise others to invest in a more reliable and efficient product.
3. Jessica - 2 stars - The Fire spell compact fridge did not live up to its promises. The temperature control was inconsistent, sometimes freezing my food and drinks, while other times barely cooling them. The design was also disappointing, with cheap plastic materials that felt flimsy. Additionally, the interior capacity was smaller than expected, making it difficult to store larger items. I ended up returning the fridge and opting for a different brand that offered better performance and quality.
