Popular songster Celine Dion recorded the track for a 1998 Christmas album under its extended title, "The Magic of Christmas Day (God Bless Us Everyone)." "The Magic of Christmas Day" was initially written and recorded by Snider "as a Christmas gift for my wife Suzette," the former Twisted Sister singer explained, "with no plan for commercial release."
Years later, however, it was "discovered and recorded by Celine Dion for her holiday record These Are Special Times," he added, "which went on to become the biggest selling holiday album in history — and is the reason we refer to her as 'Saint Celine' in my house. When it was recently suggested that I should finally record this song myself, I knew I needed to bring in a young powerhouse vocalist to not only duet with me, but light a Yuletide fire under my ass! I only knew of one rock vocalist who could deliver on all those fronts, and she did in spades: the incredible Lzzy Hale of Halestorm!"

I was extremely disappointed with "Dee Snider's The Magic of Christmas Day". As a fan of Dee Snider's work with Twisted Sister, I was excited to see what he would do with a Christmas album. However, I found the arrangements to be lackluster and the overall production to be subpar. Dee Snider's voice, which was once powerful and commanding, sounded strained and out of place on many tracks. The choice of songs was also questionable, with some selections feeling out of sync with the Christmas spirit. Overall, this album is a miss for me.
