Twisted Sister icon Dee Snider and Halestorm bandleader Lzzy Hale have teamed up on the rocking "The Magic of Christmas Day," with the two musicians singing together on the fiery and festive seasonal banger.

Composed by Snider, the guitar-fueled carol arrives just in time for the holidays to warm rock fans' hearts with a hefty dose of Christmas cheer.

In a bit of surprising music trivia, it's not the first time the tune has been released. Popular songster Celine Dion recorded the track for a 1998 Christmas album under its extended title, "The Magic of Christmas Day (God Bless Us Everyone)." Now, Snider has reclaimed the cut, and he's made it a bells-and-whistles rock number with the assistance of Hale's powerful pipes.

"The Magic of Christmas Day" was initially written and recorded by Snider "as a Christmas gift for my wife Suzette," the former Twisted Sister singer explained, "with no plan for commercial release."

Years later, however, it was "discovered and recorded by Celine Dion for her holiday record These Are Special Times," he added, "which went on to become the biggest selling holiday album in history — and is the reason we refer to her as 'Saint Celine' in my house. When it was recently suggested that I should finally record this song myself, I knew I needed to bring in a young powerhouse vocalist to not only duet with me, but light a Yuletide fire under my ass! I only knew of one rock vocalist who could deliver on all those fronts, and she did in spades: the incredible Lzzy Hale of Halestorm!"

Hale chimed in, "If you're ever in your life gonna go full-on, all gas, no brakes 'Christmas Cheer,' you do it Dee Snider-style. I was so honored to get the call from Dee on his holiday classic 'The Magic of Christmas Day.' … I hope that this song brings you joy and puts a smile on your face. God bless us everyone!"

Reviews for "Get in the Holiday Spirit with Dee Snider's Christmas Day Extravaganza"

1. Sarah - 1 out of 5 stars
I was extremely disappointed with "Dee Snider's The Magic of Christmas Day". As a fan of Dee Snider's work with Twisted Sister, I was excited to see what he would do with a Christmas album. However, I found the arrangements to be lackluster and the overall production to be subpar. Dee Snider's voice, which was once powerful and commanding, sounded strained and out of place on many tracks. The choice of songs was also questionable, with some selections feeling out of sync with the Christmas spirit. Overall, this album is a miss for me.
2. Ryan - 2 out of 5 stars
As much as I admire Dee Snider as a rocker, "The Magic of Christmas Day" did not live up to my expectations. While I appreciate the effort to put a rock spin on traditional Christmas songs, the execution fell flat. The mixing and production of the album felt rushed and amateurish, with the instruments often overpowering Dee's vocals. Additionally, some of the song choices felt forced and were not suited for his singing style. Overall, I was left unimpressed and wanting more from this holiday album.
3. Michelle - 2.5 out of 5 stars
"Dee Snider's The Magic of Christmas Day" had its moments, but overall, it did not resonate with me. While I respect Dee Snider's attempt to add a heavy metal twist to Christmas classics, the execution felt forced and lacking authenticity. The energy and intensity that I expected from these songs were missing, making them feel watered-down and generic. The vocals were also not as strong as I had hoped, with Dee's voice sounding strained and tired on certain tracks. While there were a few enjoyable moments, this album ultimately fell short for me.
4. Jason - 1 out of 5 stars
I regret purchasing "The Magic of Christmas Day" by Dee Snider. The album is a complete mess from start to finish. The arrangements are chaotic and discordant, making it difficult to even recognize the original Christmas songs. Dee Snider's vocals are grating and off-key, completely destroying the spirit of these beloved classics. The production quality is also abysmal, with many tracks sounding muffled and distorted. Save your money and skip this disaster of a Christmas album.
