Crayola is a well-known brand in the world of art supplies, and they have come up with yet another innovative product called Crayola magic light up painting paper. This paper is specially designed to make drawing and coloring a fun and interactive experience for kids. The main idea behind this product is to combine traditional art materials with technology to create a unique and engaging activity for children. The Crayola magic light up painting paper uses LED lights to bring artwork to life. The paper itself is embedded with special circuits that activate the lights when coloring or drawing is done on it. This creates a magical effect where the drawings appear to glow and come alive on the paper.

History of the Chalice

A chalice is similar to a goblet, but it is often decorated in a manner which denotes its connotations to the Christian faith; for example having the form of a cross or an inscription referring to prayer, God or Jesus.

For a vessel to be considered a chalice in the eyes of the Christian church, it often has to be blessed first. In the Roman Catholic church and some Anglo-Catholic churches, it was the custom for a chalice to be consecrated by a bishop or abbot.

Occasionally, without any evidence of religious decoration or ornamentation, we are able to decipher that a vessel would be considered a chalice rather than a goblet due to the style of the piece. Often a large, wider base signifies that it was used by many as part of a religious ceremony, furthermore the shape of the cup also indicates it’s use; a more square or triangular shape is more likely to be an attribute of a chalice, whereas often a goblet will have a more rounded, graduating form between the stem and the lip of the cup.

At AC Silver we have some fine examples of the antique drinking chalice. This piece is an early form which predates the records that were destroyed by fire at the London Assay office in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. Due to this unfortunate event we are unable to associate a maker with this chalice, however its provenance is evident in its form and the clear date mark.

This creates a magical effect where the drawings appear to glow and come alive on the paper. This feature is not only visually appealing but also serves as an encouragement for kids to keep creating and exploring their imagination. The magic light up painting paper comes with specially designed markers that are used with the paper.

Communion Chalice

In Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and many other denominations of the Christian faith, a chalice is a cup used to hold sacramental wine during significant ceremonies such as the Holy Communion. Due to its religious significance, this chalice is usually made from silver or gold. The base of a Communion chalice often features some form of decoration. Sometimes, chalices or patens are presented as gifts to newly-ordained priests to represent their new titles and responsibilities. Traditionally, everyone partaking in Communion drank from the same Communion chalice. This highlights the importance of the piece for those with religious inclinations. The chalice, being used in Communion, represents the communion between Catholic Christians and their God.

Common decoration for Communion chalices includes crosses and crucifixes. More elaborate examples of the Communion chalice feature etched decoration and even gemstones around the base. Enamel is also featured as a form of decoration, depicting Biblical scenes such as the last supper. Chalices of this kind can be categorised through a variety of their features and uses.

Once the drawings are done, kids can simply wipe off the ink using a tissue or cloth, and the paper is ready to be used again. This means that kids can keep experimenting, creating, and playing with colors without worrying about wasting paper. The magic light up painting paper is not only a fun and interactive toy but also a great tool to enhance children’s creativity and imagination. - Adam - 2 stars - I was really excited to try out the Crayola magic light up painting paper, but I ended up being disappointed. The concept is great, with the paper lighting up and revealing hidden designs when you color on it. However, the execution was lacking. The paper was too thin and flimsy, and the colors did not show up well. I also found that the light was not bright enough to clearly see the hidden designs. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product.
- Emily - 1 star - I bought the Crayola magic light up painting paper for my kids, thinking it would be a fun and interactive art project. Unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. The paper was very delicate and tore easily, which caused a lot of frustration for my kids. The light feature also didn't work consistently, sometimes not lighting up at all. The colors were dull and didn't show up vibrantly, making the whole experience underwhelming. Save your money and find a better art toy for your kids.
