However, there is another franchise that has often been overlooked but holds its own in the world of magic and fantasy – Charmed. I know everyone will say Voyager is a step down from DS9 but Voyager and DS9 are pretty different in what they're going for. Voyager is much more in line with TOS and TNG as far as an episodic adventure of the week type thing where is DS9's setting is much different as well as the serialized nature of the Dominion War. Voyager can be enjoyable if you approach it with the right mindset rather than try to compare it to DS9.

The Animated Series sits in a weird place where it s basically more TOS featuring a lot of the original actors voicing their characters, but doing things that wouldn t be practical in live-action.

I think I’m caught up on current Trek or at least SNW and Lower Decks, seen TNG many times.

Voyager if you want another seven seasons of consistent but less good Trek, Enterprise if you want more interesting Trek lore stuff in an uneven and shorter show with high peaks and valleys.

Voyager isn't as good as TNG or DS9 (IMO) but it's the best out of what's listed and the natural place to go after DS9.

IMO Voyager doesn't stack up well against DS9, so going straight to it will be a bit of a shock. I recommend Enterprise or TOS next!

There is a lot of Janeway hate on ERA. She is doesn't always make the best decisions and some out right bad ones, but overall she is a good character. She is much better than Archer, yet she gets more hate. Huh, I wonder why?

Voyager also has the Doctor and Seven, both are top tier Star Trek characters.

The current IDW Star Trek books. Star Trek follows Sisko 3 years after the end of DS9, captaining the USS Theseus. Star Trek: Defiant is Worf-led crew of outcasts (some real surprises among them). The first Star Trek comic book crossover ever just wrapped up in Day of Blood and was excellent. Its overall theme was anti-fascism. Plus this is all in continuity.

You should definitely watch Voyager.

Overall, it wasn't as consistent but I firmly believe it has some of the best Star Trek episodes. The crew is good, Captain is great.

Of the big 3 (TNG, DS9, and Voyager), I think Voyager is the weakest by a fairly large margin. But I still think it's a good show with a lot of fun episodes. Enterprise isn't a bad show either but it has some really low lows in my view that make it harder to recommend.

The Animated Series sits in a weird place where it's basically "more TOS" featuring a lot of the original actors voicing their characters, but doing things that wouldn't be practical in live-action. But at only 22 half hour episodes, it's a pretty light time investment for those that have already gone through the original show.

Though it's not really the one to watch after finishing up DS9. Might as well stick with production order and move on to Voyager.

I can't say much good about Enterprise. There's some good episodes and a dog.

The Discovery theme song is one of the best in all of Star Trek. That is the only positive thing I can say.

Honestly Voyager gets way more shit than it deserves. It's not perfect, but i think it stands out because its the most "well produced" Star Trek still within the general TNG era of design.

My primary problem with Janeway is how inconsistently written she was. Her flip flopping between "we represent Starfleet we need to uphold the prime directive" versus "to hell with the prime directive we wanna go home" could've been a better arc if it was a gradual shift, but instead it's back and forth depending on what that particular episode needs.

The flaw of going back to a more episodic formula compared to the very serialized back half of DS9.

But it's still a good show, probably better than Enterprise overall.

So you've already hit TNG, DS9, SNW and LD. Good!

Between the three poll options, I say Enterprise. It's a totally different era, a lot more fresh than Voyager, and it's interesting to watch the growing pains of their early exploration. They're still figuring a lot out, and that's fun. Archer feels different than the captains that follow him, and I think that's a good thing. Starts a bit slow but the show only gets better as it goes on, the second half is better than the first. I find it the most interesting option of the three provided. Also, there is a doggy on the ship.

I think the first three seasons of Discovery complete an interesting arc that has its ups and downs, despite new trek very much still trying to find its footing. (Although concluding that the following season 4 felt very "well. what now?" to me and they started losing cast, it's clear why the show is ending with an upcoming season 5.) But season 1 hits some intriguing plotlines you might recognize from DS9, season 2 ties into SNW, and season 3 takes us to places Trek has never seen before. So if you're okay with the tone of this series (which is more melodrama and mystery boxes than usual), it could be of interest to you. But that will be very taste-specific. It's a very mixed bag, but it's full of ideas.

Voyager largely feels like reheated TNG leftovers that sat out for too long and got soggy. It's got highlights (like the Doctor and Seven) but seven years of that is a long time, following a watch list could improve the experience a lot. Most of the series is like lukewarm porridge. I only ever rewatch a small handful of episodes. Chair warmer of a series that never really lived up to its romantic premise.
