These iconic outfits usually consist of a long black robe or dress, accessorized with a pointed hat and a broomstick. These hats are usually black and tall, with a wide brim. The origin of the pointed hat can be traced back to medieval times when it was associated with wise women and healers. Over time, this hat has become a symbol of the witch and is often used to depict them in popular culture. Finally, no witch's costume would be complete without a broomstick. In folklore, witches were believed to use broomsticks to fly through the night sky. While this may not be based on reality, it has become an essential part of the witch's image.
