A Day of Fun at Sesame Place – Langhorne PA

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street? Join me for A Day of Fun at Sesame Place – Langhorne PA. We had such a blast! It was only a short hour and a half away from NY which worked perfectly for us. I’m going to give you the rundown of our visit below – plus a few tips and tricks I learned from my visit!

Disclaimer: I was provided complimentary tickets to Sesame Place. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Sesame Place Reservations

At the time of our visit reservations were required and I was able to do that seamlessly online. I was able to choose a time slot for us to go to the water park as well. I printed out my tickets and reservations( as was required) and kept them in a safe place till the day of our visit. I do have to add that no one checked/scanned my waterpark reservation during our visit but I am glad I had it just in case!

Arrival at Sesame Place

Since the park is only about an hour and a half away from our home in New York we left at around 8:30 am (the park opens at 10 am) We actually got there 15 minutes before the park opened (yay for no traffic) and got a great parking spot! Parking at the park is $22.72(pre-paid online) and for preferred parking (which lets you park closer to the park) prices start at $30(pre-paid online). We had general parking and were still able to park pretty close to the entrance!

When you arrive at the entrance of the park, all bags will be checked. You can bring in water and a few snacks but no “real food”. They will check your bags first and at the second gate, the staff will scan your tickets, and then you enter the park.

Tip – Download the Sesame Place App because it gives you a whole rundown of activities throughout the day! Character meets to parade times. It provided me with all the information I needed.

Dry Rides

Due to it being July 4th weekend I knew the park would be busy but the park isn’t huge as others and the lines were pretty manageable even for a holiday weekend. You can purchase a Magic Queue which basically lets you skip the lines for their most popular attractions.

We didn’t purchase Magic Queue but there were many people that did. There are a ton of dry rides geared toward younger kids which J loved! At around noon we decided to go and get character pictures. The app tells you which characters will be where at certain times for photos but it really all depends on how long it takes for you to get through the line. There are plenty of opportunities during the day so plan accordingly.

Dining with Elmo and Friends

Dining can be expensive at Sesame Place but there are plenty of options available if you choose not to leave the park. I was craving Mexican so we decided to leave the park and walk to Margaritas – literally, a 4 minute walk away from the park. The meal was amazing and I would definitely go back! We did get snacks at the park as well as ice cream and loved them all. There is also the option of Dining with Elmo and friends for an extra fee which offers either breakfast, lunch, or early dinner and involves some of the characters who come up to the table and meet with the kids. You pick your times from what they offer.

Tip – Book Dining with Elmo and Friends online and save some money. Also, sign up for their email list and get offers straight to your inbox. I received an email with discounted passes for dine-in but it sold out even before I could purchase so get those fingers working and book quick!

Waterpark

The waterpark was a great relief from the sweltering heat. There is a lazy river, wave pool, and numerous other interactive water areas for young kids. The water rides (slides, etc) are geared more towards older kids so we did not go on those and chose to let J do his thing and pick what he enjoyed. He did NOT want to leave the waterpark area! I truly have a water baby!

Parade/Shows

The Sesame Place app tells you the parade times for that day and I highly recommend not missing the parade! It was so fun. Try and find a spot early on the parade route to get the best view.

As for the shows, they were limited during our visit. We did catch the character’s dance party but other than that there were no other shows – I presume due to Covid, I will definitely check them out next time.

What to Bring

  • Swim Trunks
  • Towels ( You can get these at the waterpark too)
  • Change or two of clothes
  • Water Shoes
  • Snacks
  • Water
  • Hats (It was hot when we visited)
  • Sunscreen
  • Wipes

Tip – If you have children who can still fit into their strollers – I HIGHLY recommend bringing it. J is 3 years old almost 4 and walks everywhere but with the heat and walking exhaustion is bound to kick in. We are so glad we had our stroller because there is a lot of walking. It also doubled as storage underneath.

Lockers are available at the park for a nominal fee.

That about sums up our visit and I wish we could go every day. It was my family’s first time going and we cannot wait to go back! Do not forget the souvenirs either – we spent a couple of $100 on them but it was well worth it! Have you been to Sesame Place?

One common use of Magic Queue is in handling asynchronous actions or events. For example, when processing user requests or handling incoming network messages, a Magic Queue can ensure that the requests or messages are processed in the order received, without any delays or hiccups. Magic Queue also has a special property called "thread safety," which means it can handle multiple threads or processes accessing it simultaneously without causing any conflicts or data corruption. This makes it suitable for parallel or concurrent programming scenarios. Another advantage of Magic Queue is its simplicity and ease of use. It provides simple and intuitive methods for adding elements at the end, removing elements from the front, and checking the status of the queue (e.g., empty or full). This makes it a useful tool for beginners in programming. Overall, Magic Queue is a data structure that offers efficient and reliable handling of elements in a First-In-First-Out manner. Its magical properties enable it to handle various operations effectively, making it a valuable tool in computer science and programming..
