When I went to Valencia Community College East Campus many years ago, I did a report on the origins of the term Valencia, it does nothing to do with an orange it had to do with the city of Valencia Spain. The red color that College used as their primary color was not because red is in the Spanish flag but according to some old Valencia documents it was the color of the blood of the Moors (Muslims), who were defeated by the Christians in Iberia. Oh how times have changed.

Pumas are solitary, vicious and fearful in unfamiliar territory. They kill one another over resources and your mascot has an angry scowl. Everyone wants to be the badass in the room, but that isn't what fosters a warm and welcoming educational environment. Who are you attracting to the school with your branding, and why do we need to evoke a predator as the mascot of the college? I voiced these concerns in the preliminary.

It feels like they didn't put much thought or effort into it, and it shows in the lackluster design. I hope they reconsider and invest in a mascot that will truly represent our college spirit.
3. Michael - 1 star - I find the Valencia College mascot to be utterly forgettable. It lacks any distinctive features or characteristics that would make it stand out. It's just another generic representation that could be mistaken for any other college mascot. I wish they had spent more time and creativity in developing a mascot that students could connect with and rally behind. Unfortunately, this mascot falls short of that expectation and leaves me feeling unimpressed.

The design is uninspiring and does not represent the unique spirit and values of Valencia College. The mascot should be a symbol of pride and motivation, but this one falls flat. It's disappointing to see such a lack of imagination in a mascot that should have been memorable and eye-catching.
5. David - 1 star - The Valencia College mascot is a complete letdown. It's dull, uninspired, and lacks any personality. It feels like the college just picked a random design without considering the importance of a mascot in creating a sense of community and building college spirit.
