Trigun Stampede Teruterel Mascor is a fictional concept from the popular Japanese manga and anime series called Trigun. Trigun is a sci-fi western that takes place on a desert planet called Gunsmoke. The story follows Vash the Stampede, a peculiar outlaw with a bounty worth 60 billion double dollars on his head. Teruterel is a rare plant in the Trigun universe that grows on Gunsmoke. It is said to have hallucinogenic and mind-altering properties. Teruterel is a key element in the story as it is used by the main antagonist, Knives Millions, to control others and create chaos.

Mass hysteria makes people forget about common sense and about “elemental decencies.” Its danger lies in the fact that it suppresses rational thought, so that even good people such as Rebecca Nurse fall victim to a society plagued by mass hysteria. On a similar note, the character of Giles Corey chooses to withstand the torture of being pressed to death instead of answering "aye or nay" to his indictment and giving in to the twisted logic of mass hysteria. This courageous act, related to Proctor by Elizabeth, inspires John to find his own courage.
