The Witch of Fern Island Platform and Her Supernatural Abilities

By admin

The witch of Fern Island was a legendary figure in the small community that lived on the island. She was believed to possess magical powers and was both feared and respected by the locals. According to the stories passed down through generations, the witch was said to live alone in a small cottage at the edge of the island. She was described as an old woman with wild gray hair and piercing green eyes. Many believed that she had made a pact with the spirits of the island, giving her the ability to control the elements and communicate with animals. The witch was known to help those in need, but her assistance came at a price.

Have ya'll played The Witch of Fern Island?

If you haven't played it, I think you should give it a try. It is out for early access on Steam, so keep an eye out for full release if you're not a pc player!

Anyway, The Witch of Fern Island has pretty much everything I could want in a cozy game. There's farming, animal tending, foraging, crafting, cooking, expanding your Manor, side quests, exploring. and you get to ride around on a broom! What more do you want in a cozy game?

I could go into detail on all the things above but I'll point out a few things:

  1. There are seasons (6 actually), and some things are even dependent on the phases of the moon. I've never seen that in a cozy game before.
  2. Not only can you craft and cook, but you can perform magic spells that can water your crops, for example. You can craft charms medicines and potions, and sell them at the stall in front of your house.

3)Foraging is a big deal, because you'll need to gather materials like herbs, flowers and mushrooms for your craft. 🧙‍♀️ Sure, foraging can be grindy, but what cozy game isn't a bit grindy?

I will say that it's a little light on npc friendships and interactions, but I'm ok with that. No npc is particularly interesting or deep. I'm not into games for that. I play games because I don't like interacting with people lol.

Even though not all areas are developed yet, there is still tons to do. It's far enough along that it doesn't bother me that it isn't finished yet. I have plenty to keep me happy while I eagerly await the next content updates.

For reference, I like cozy games like Stardew, Story of Seasons, My Time at Portia, My Time at Sandrock, House Flipper, and Sims, to name a few. If you have similar tastes, I think you'll enjoy The Witch of Fern Island.

Happy (Cozy) Gaming my friends!

Edited to try to fix my bullet points. It probably still looks wonky. Oh well
