The spell of the blood red jewel

Regardless of its origins, its power is undeniable. The spell of the blood red jewel is said to awaken dormant abilities within the wearer. It is said to enhance their natural talents, making them almost unstoppable.

Does anyone have thoughts on how to turn The Jewel of Three Prayers into a team item?

I'm a week away from starting my campaign and I've seen a couple stories of players who feel that the entire campaign is an escort quest since they weren't the one to attune to the Jewel. I wanted to try and avoid this problem by turning the Jewel into a team item instead of for a single person. I understand the whole "they can just share it" argument, but I have the feeling that it'll probably just be given to the person who "benefits the most from it" and then left to them.

So to avoid that, I wanted to share an initial idea I had:

The Jewel starts off as a team item and upgrades similarly to how it's described in the book but progressively gets more useful for allies as well as the person wearing it. Only one person can benefit from "wearing" (being attuned to) the jewel and receiving the AC bonus and a few other abilities, but as it gets more powerful the features become more useful for the team as well.

The spell of the blood red jewel

Some claim that it can even grant immortality. However, the spell of the blood red jewel comes with a price. It is said that once someone possesses the jewel, they can never truly let it go. It becomes a part of them, their essence intertwined with its power. Some have become consumed by its influence, losing themselves in the process. Throughout history, many have fallen victim to the allure of the blood red jewel. Kings and queens have waged wars for it, scholars have spent lifetimes searching for it, and pirates have sailed the seas in pursuit of it. The desire for its power is insatiable. But is the spell of the blood red jewel real, or is it merely a legend? There have been tales of individuals who have possessed the jewel and gained great power, but these stories are often shrouded in mystery and skepticism. Some believe that the jewel is nothing more than a fairy tale, a creation of the human imagination. Nevertheless, the allure of the blood red jewel continues to captivate the hearts of many. Perhaps it is the promise of unlimited power and wealth that draws people in, or perhaps it is the idea that such a powerful artifact truly exists. Regardless, the spell of the blood red jewel remains an enigma, a mystery waiting to be unraveled..
