The Magical Sword in Ancient Mythology

By admin

The magical sword is a recurring theme in many folklores, myths, and legends across cultures. It is often depicted as a powerful weapon with extraordinary abilities that can only be wielded by a chosen hero. This sword is usually imbued with supernatural powers by deities, wizards, or other magical beings. The main idea is that the magical sword represents a symbol of strength, courage, and destiny. It is not an ordinary weapon but a tool that aids the hero in their quest or journey. The hero is often the only one capable of wielding the sword due to their unique qualities or pure heart.

At the end of "a Link to the Past" the Link of that time places the Master Sword back into it's pedestal in the lost woods before sailing off to Koholint Island, Holodrum, and Labrynna. So if the Master Sword still resting in the lost woods you should be able to find it there in the original Zelda but you can't, it's no longer in the lost woods. The closest thing to the Master Sword you can find in the original Zelda is the Magical Sword which is hidden in a secret, underground cave in the Graveyard, so what happened to the legendary blade?

At the end of a Link to the Past the Link of that time places the Master Sword back into it s pedestal in the lost woods before sailing off to Koholint Island, Holodrum, and Labrynna. Similarly, the opening of The Adventure of Link depicts what is assumed to be the Magical Sword embedded on a Cliffside, similar to how the Master Sword is inserted onto a pedestal.

The magical sword

The hero is often the only one capable of wielding the sword due to their unique qualities or pure heart. In many tales, the magical sword is the key to defeating the main antagonist or completing a difficult mission. It can cut through any obstacle, protect its bearer, and vanquish evil forces.

A theory about NES Zelda's' missing Master Sword

The master sword is one of the most iconic pieces of video game weaponry. It appears in almost every Zelda game but one game that is doesn't appear in, the original legend of Zelda, sticks out to me.

In "The Legend of Zelda: Four Sword" you can unlock the Master Sword by getting it in "a Link to the Past". Now this is just a small bonus for playing through one of their games but there's more to this than it seems. Four Swords was remade for the DSI and 3DS for Zelda's 25th anniversary and this version of the game has multiple large additions made, the biggest of these is a new single-player mode but something more interesting was added: the Realm of Memories.

In the anniversary edition of Four Sword, after completing the story and defeating Vaati you unlock a new dungeon: the Realm of Memories, a dungeon that has three doors leading to worlds similar to the original Zelda, Link's Awakening, and a Link to the Past, after completing all three parts of this dungeon you get a special item: the Master Sword! But the last time we saw the Master Sword (chronologically) it was put into the temple of time and shouldn't be removed until the Hero of Time comes around. How is there one Master Sword locked away in the temple of time and another one in the hands of the Link wielding the Four Sword? My theory is that the doors of the Realm of Memories lead to the future and allow the Hero of Light to step into these points in time.

I think that, after the Hero of Hyrule left for Holodrum and Labrynna, the Hero of Light came through the door leading to the Hyrule from a Link to the Past and took the Master Sword with them back to the past. This also explains something strange about Wind Waker's Master Sword. In Wind Waker you recieve the Master Sword after going to the, now flooded, Kingdom of Hyrule but there's something off about this particular "blade of evil's bane". Wind Waker's Master Sword is visibly different from any other international of the weapon, sporting a much larger blade, but it's also in a strange place, in the "Hyrule Historia" it's said that Zelda placed the Master Sword back into the Temple of Time, so why is it hidden underneath Hyrule Castle? It's the stolen Master Sword!

The magical sword

The sword's power can range from enhancing the hero's own abilities to being capable of controlling the elements or granting wishes. Despite its extraordinary abilities, the magical sword is often portrayed as having a mind of its own. It can communicate with its wielder, guide their actions, or even choose to change hands if the current bearer is deemed unworthy. This adds an element of mystery and unpredictability to the story. Throughout history, various magical swords have captured the imagination of people. One famous example is Excalibur from the Arthurian legend, which symbolized King Arthur's rightful claim to the throne and marked his destiny as the ruler of Britain. Another well-known example is the Lightsaber from the Star Wars franchise, which is both a powerful weapon and a symbol of a Jedi Knight's connection to the Force. In conclusion, the magical sword is a prominent element in folklore, myths, and legends. It represents strength, courage, and destiny, and often aids the hero in their quest. With its supernatural abilities, the sword becomes integral to the hero's journey and is a symbol of hope and triumph over evil..
