14th Black Crusade succeeds.
Abadon destroys the Emperor's body
Demons swarm in to the palace and get in to a huge conflict with the Custodes.
Emperor, being a perpetual, regenerates days later now that he finally has the capability to use some of his power to regenerate himself instead of using all of it to plug the Magnus Hole and fight off Chaos entirely.
Terra is in ruins, Astertes and Custodes fighting relentlessly to contain it all.
Emperor rallies them.
Fights off the demons and pushes back the Chaos warships because Abadon doesn't stand a shred of a chance against Big E.
The resurrection of the Emperor causes the religiously fanatical masses to go in to worship overdrive, the combined psychic might of so many devoted crying out in salvation super-charges Big E.
He rallies the remainder of his forces, secures Terra, re-fortifies everything, and begins preparation to go on a Second Great Crusade to destroy Chaos once and for all.
Abadon ----s himself 12 times daily.
Tzeentch laughs because this was his plan all along.

The Talisman of Seven Hammers is attached to the Throne. The moment a demon touches Terra is the moment the entire planet blows up and sends a "to whom it may concern" psychic explosion to the entire Warp weakening the gods immensely. For this reason, I think the Black Crusades are to weaken the Imperium but not destroy it until the Gods are confident that they would survive the rest of the Imperium's retaliation after said explosion.

There's also the Terminus Decree to consider, a Grey Knights artifact that is most likely the secret to activating the Talisman of Seven Hammers. The later being a dead mans switch created and installed by Vulkan on the Golden Throne. Should the Talisman be activated, Terra would be consumed in a monstrous amount of the Emperor's stored psychic fire, destroying the planet, and sending a wave of his death energy into the Imperial Webway gate. Its said this would deal Chaos a severe blow.

I don't think the Emperor being killed would open another eye of terror, It would be awful due to the loss of the Astronomicon, but it would probably benefit the Imperium as well by weakening Chaos, assuming the whole Terminus Decree stuff is involved.

That's the 40K AOS reboot GW has in their back pocket.

The Emperor Dies. The Emperor is a Perpetual. The Talisman of Seven Hammers goes off. Chaos is in full retreat, the Astronomicon is gone. The Emperor resurrects. Humanity regresses to the Second Age of Terra/Techology/Strife/Darkness, the Emperor creates new Primarchs, and on and on.

I'd honestly be down for some of that. Chaos should take the backseat and Tyranids should be front and center big bads.

As for Vulkan, he hugged a huge psychic explosion on Ullanor during the War of the Beast and his body was never found. Considering he has been literally stripped to his component atoms before and come back to life, there's a slim chance he's actually dead.

Him getting atomized really sends the plot armor of perpetuals to the moon and back. Atomization was the argument on whether they can be truly killed by lots of nerds before.

Artefacts of Vulkan

The artefacts of Vulkan are nine artefacts forged by the Primarch Vulkan, the only survivors of what was once a vault of thousands. Of these, seven were chosen by the first Forgefather, T'kell, whilst the other two were carried by Vulkan to Isstvan V. [4]

The Nine were, according to Salamanders lore of the 41st Millennium, scattered throughout the galaxy, and the Tome of Fire gives clues as to their locations. The one tasked with finding these artefacts is a Captain from one of the companies. He renounces his name and takes his Primarch's name, Vulkan, and is given the title of Forgefather. So far, 5 of the artefacts have been located. [1]

Through a complex ritual, the hammers were fused together, creating the Talisman of Seven Hammers. The talisman has the ability to channel incredible amounts of magical energy and grants its wielder immense power. It is said that the talisman has the ability to grant the holder extraordinary strength, endurance, and agility.

It can also bestow upon the wielder the ability to manipulate the elements, control the forces of nature, and even alter reality itself. The talisman is believed to be invulnerable to most forms of damage and can only be destroyed by an incredibly powerful magical force. Throughout history, the Talisman of Seven Hammers has been sought after by many, including power-hungry warlords, treasure hunters, and those with a deep desire to harness its immense power for their own purposes. It is said to have caused great battles and wars as individuals and factions fought over possession of the talisman. However, the talisman's true power comes at a price. Many who have wielded it have become consumed by its immense energies, losing themselves to its powerful influence. Only those with great willpower and the ability to resist its allure can hope to control and wield the talisman without being corrupted by its power. The current whereabouts of the Talisman of Seven Hammers remains a mystery. Some believe it is hidden away in a secret vault, waiting for a chosen one to discover its power and use it for the greater good. Others claim it has been lost to time, its existence merely a myth or tale told to inspire hope and wonder. Regardless of its current location, the legend of the Talisman of Seven Hammers continues to captivate the imaginations of those who hear it. It represents the eternal struggle between good and evil, power and corruption. Its story serves as a reminder of the dangers of unchecked ambition and the importance of using power for noble purposes..
