The Taksiman's Code: Unraveling the Rules of the Stranger Things Universe

By admin

"Stranger Things: The Taxi Man" In the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things," the Upside Down and its assorted monsters were undoubtedly the main source of terror for the characters. However, there is another eerie character who deserves some attention – the taxi man. Throughout the show, the taxi man appears in multiple forms, each more alarming than the last. He first appears in Season 2, as Hopper investigates the mysterious disappearance of pumpkins. Hopper stumbles upon an eerie maze created from these missing pumpkins, and within it, a scarecrow dressed as a taxi man. The scarecrow's presence is chilling, especially as it is reminiscent of the menacing Demogorgon.

Entering the store, I was immediately transported to the kind of ancient bookstore with creaking floors and books that smelled so intensely of old wood and vanilla you read about in fairytales. The shelves were lined with crystals, incense, books, and all other necessary items for pursuing spiritual enlightenment. I neared the various shiny crystals labeled “rose quartz”, “clear quartz”, and “amethyst”. The label noted that the pink rose quartz crystal is connected to the heart chakra, meaning it helps the heart heal from pain. I continued walking with the rose quartz in hand and approached a section of books dedicated to describing different rituals associated with crystals. All hinted at the importance of lighting incense in these practices to cleanse your surroundings, I made sure to purchase white sage aroma sticks. In the book section, I decided to buy a purple notebook dedicated to this new chapter of my spiritual journey.

I continued walking with the rose quartz in hand and approached a section of books dedicated to describing different rituals associated with crystals. In September, I had to opportunity to sit down via Zoom with yet another teenage genius, Lillian Kay Petersen, for BUST Magazine s Winter 2021 print edition.

The scarecrow's presence is chilling, especially as it is reminiscent of the menacing Demogorgon. Its decaying, straw-filled body and eerie taxi driver attire give the viewer an unsettling feeling. This initial encounter leaves a lasting impression, setting the stage for further encounters with the taxi man.

I'm pleased to announce that this week, I officially began my postgraduate studies at Trinity College Dublin. I will be working towards a Master of Philosophy in Gender and Women's Studies, living and researching in Dublin, Ireland for the next year. I can't even begin to describe how excited I am for this chapter of my life, and how incredibly thankful I am for the people and experiences that got me to this point.

I'm beyond excited to announce that this week, I officially graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and a minor in Literature. Although the commencement was virtual, I am honored to have celebrated my graduation from Pratt after a week of virtual and in-person readings and celebrations, a crazy 13-or-so months of hybrid learning, and the best four years of my life so far. I am endlessly grateful for my time at Pratt and am looking forward to wherever the passion for writing and literature Pratt and my amazing friends, peers, and professors instilled in me takes me next!

Nine months, eight short stories, and 100 pages later, this week I completed and submitted my senior thesis for the Writing BFA at Pratt Institute! This was one of the most difficult, most rewarding things I have ever done. I am so proud of this collection, as well as the work my peers created this school year and over the course of our past four years together at large. I cannot thank the Writing Department enough for their endless support. Here's to whatever adventure writing stories takes me on next! I can't wait to continue to see what my incredibly talented friends do with their art.

In September, I had to opportunity to sit down via Zoom with yet another teenage genius, Lillian Kay Petersen, for BUST Magazine's Winter 2021 print edition. This comes after I got the chance to interview biotech queen and Harvard student, Kavya Kopparapu, for BUST's Summer 2020 issue. Both of these visionaries show just how different the world can be with more girls in STEM. Read all about Petersen and her award winning invention, Crop4Cast on BUST.com below (and don't forget to pick up a copy of BUST's Spring 2021 print edition, on newsstands today!): https://lnkd.in/ePBS3sB

Stranger things the taksiman

In Season 3, we see the taxi man again, this time in the reflections throughout Hawkins. These reflections take the form of the taxi man in the windows of cars, mirrors, and even in a funhouse mirror maze. The appearance of the taxi man becomes more frequent and inescapable, further emphasizing the eerie and otherworldly nature of the Upside Down. The taxi man's significance lies in his ability to unnerve the characters and the audience. His appearances and reflections serve as a constant reminder that the Upside Down is not something that can easily be ignored or defeated. He adds an extra layer of tension and suspense to the already terrifying world of "Stranger Things." While the taxi man may not have the same notoriety as the show's iconic monsters, his presence is still felt. He adds to the sense of unease and the feeling that something is not quite right in Hawkins. His mysterious appearances and reflections leave the viewer questioning his origins and his connection to the Upside Down. In conclusion, the taxi man in "Stranger Things" may not be the central focus of the show, but he still plays a significant role in heightening the sense of fear and mystery throughout the series. His appearances and reflections serve as a constant reminder that the Upside Down is always lurking in the shadows, ready to unleash its horrors on the unsuspecting residents of Hawkins..

Reviews for "The Taksiman Paradox: How a Character with Limited Screen Time Became a Fan Favorite in Stranger Things"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Stranger Things the Taximan". The show lost its charm and magic in this season. The plot felt disjointed and rushed, with too many unnecessary subplots that didn't add anything to the overall story. The characters also seemed to have lost their depth and complexity, becoming caricatures of themselves. The inclusion of the taximan as a central character felt forced and didn't contribute much to the overall narrative. Overall, this season lacked the excitement and suspense that made me fall in love with the show in the first place.
2. Mark - 1 star - "Stranger Things the Taximan" was a complete letdown. The plot was confusing and convoluted, with countless unnecessary twists and turns. The taximan character felt like an afterthought and had no real purpose in the story. The pacing was slow, and many episodes seemed to drag on without any significant development. The writing was also lackluster, with poorly executed dialogue and uninteresting interactions between the characters. I was hoping for the same level of excellence as the previous seasons, but unfortunately, this season fell flat.
3. Emily - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the latest season of "Stranger Things the Taximan". The plot lacked focus and direction, meandering without any clear purpose. It felt like the writers were trying to introduce too many new elements and didn't give enough attention to the core characters and their relationships. The taximan felt like a random addition that didn't fit well into the overall narrative. The suspense and mystery that made the earlier seasons so captivating were missing, leaving me feeling disconnected and uninterested. Overall, this season was a letdown and didn't live up to the high standards set by its predecessors.
