Juliet Haines Mofford holds a degree from Tufts University and pursued graduate studies in art history at Boston University and in Europe. Before embarking upon a career as a professional museum educator she taught English language and American studies in Japan, Spain, and the Caribbean. She has lived in 11 different states and 6 foreign countries. Two of her 14 published books received national awards from the American Association for State & Local History. She has studied, lectured, and written about the Salem Witch Trials for 25 years and directed Teacher Training Workshops and taught courses on this subject at Middlesex and Northern Essex Community Colleges. She wrote and produced three community plays, Cry Witch! Andover, 1692, The Suspicious Season, and The Judgment of Martha Carrier. Her narrative nonfiction book, I Shall Use My Freedom Well (Josiah Henson, 1789-1883) was published by TouchPoint Press in 2017. For three years, she served as Peer Grants Reviewer with the Massachusetts Cultural Council and was a member of the American Association of Museums' national board of educators. She is the mother of three adult children and lives in mid-coast Maine, where she is currently a full-time author and historical researcher.
