The Power of Putin: Exploring the Fascination with Putin Voodoo Dolls

By admin

The Putin voodoo doll is a symbolic representation of Vladimir Putin, the current President of Russia. This doll has gained popularity as a form of protest against Putin's policies and actions. People use the doll to express their discontent and frustration with the government. The main idea behind the Putin voodoo doll is to channel negative energy towards Putin and visualize his downfall. By using the doll, individuals believe they can exert some control over his actions and bring about change. However, it is important to note that the use of voodoo dolls for political purposes is mainly symbolic and does not have any real effect on Putin or his administration.

The Putin doll is packed into a coffin, accompanied by a noose and pins with the Ukrainian flag on them.

If Putin can deny that he is backing the vatniks in the east and Crimea, then Voodoo Politics can deny having anything to do with the VATNIK project , Mycio explains. This is not the first time the Russian tyrant got a voodoo doll dedicated to him; back in 2014, the project called VATNIK The Putin Voodoo Magnet had started.

However, it is important to note that the use of voodoo dolls for political purposes is mainly symbolic and does not have any real effect on Putin or his administration. It serves as a way to vent frustration and dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in Russia. While the Putin voodoo doll may have some therapeutic or cathartic benefits for individuals, it should not be seen as an effective method of bringing about real political change.

According to research published by Brown University, the word voodoo means spirits and the belief is a religious or magico-religious practice that aims to connect spirits with humans. Traditionally a voodoo doll works by someone pushing the pins into the entirety of its soft body, which is a material incarnation of a person they can control.

Di Di admitted to the Daily Sun, that while she is not a firm believer in such dark magic stuff, her customers are, and they have been buying the doll and pining it, to inflict suffering on the tyrant for starting the war.

She also told the publication that in her online Etsy store, BadCherrybyDD, Putin is the successor to dolls she has made of North Korea's Kim Jong Un and ex-US President Donald Trump. She said, "I don't believe in the power of voodoo dolls, but I think my clients do. I started doing the voodoo dolls in October 2014, (Adopt a Zombie) and then in 2016 a friend told me to do a custom and then I did Donald Trump Voodoo Doll."

"I don't vote, I am not part of any political party, I think is fun. I have Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Um, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, a Riot Police and Lebron James.I have different versions, full fabric and digital print with fabric. I probably sold 150 Vladimir Putin so far, but the best seller is Donald Trump and Joe Biden."

This is not the first time the Russian tyrant got a voodoo doll dedicated to him; back in 2014, the project called 'VATNIK: The Putin Voodoo Magnet' had started. It was a project which aimed to raise $5,000 to produce voodoo dolls with Putin's face that could be pinned up with Ukrainian flags. It was a project that started to mock the Russian president when war started between Russia and Ukraine back in February 2014.

Mycio says she agreed to be a public face for the group due to her activity on social networks and previous experience with Kickstarter projects. Having Ukrainian heritage, she quit her job as a lawyer in America and moved to Ukraine in 1991 where she spent 16 years, working as a Los Angeles Times reporter and directing a legal aid program for Ukrainian journalists.

Reviews for "From Needle to Pin: Exploring the Rituals and Practices Associated with Putin Voodoo Dolls"

1. Samantha - 1 star - I was extremely disappointed with the Putin voodoo doll. Not only was the quality of the doll poor, but it also felt incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful to create a doll representing a real-life political figure. I found it tasteless and not at all funny. I do not recommend purchasing this item.
2. Robert - 2 stars - I bought the Putin voodoo doll as a gag gift for a friend, but it ended up being a total letdown. The doll itself was poorly made, and the pins did not stick properly. It felt more like a cheap toy than a novelty item. Save your money and look for a better gift option.
3. Melissa - 2 stars - I bought the Putin voodoo doll thinking it would be a fun and quirky item to have, but I was quite disappointed. The doll's design was not very accurate, and it didn't have the desired effect as a stress reliever. The material used for the doll wasn't great either, and I found it difficult to stick the pins properly. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it as a novelty item.
