Farris the Knight of flowers is probably the cutest addition to the festival. Hajji Firuz is probably the equivalent of Santa Claus in the Nowruz festival. He leaves the world of the dead (winter) and brings the news of spring, sings songs for kids, and dances in the streets. He wears a pointy or high hat, black or red vest often with floral embroideries, a bright red dress, and holds a tambourine. Farris (Firuz) almost has all of these elements in his model, along with the tambourine necklace. Also, Genshin added a little touch and mentioned Yalda candies. Yalda is another Persian festival, celebrating the first day of winter which is the longest night of the year and people celebrate it by gathering at night and eating a lot of candies and sweets (totally irrelevant but appreciated lol)
As you walk the streets of Sumeru alongside the beautiful Dunyarzad the name is a little butchered, named after the sister of the Queen Scheherazade from the famous stories of One Thousand and One Nights you get to know the different traditions of Sabzeruz festival which have a strong inspiration from real life Nowruz traditions. Yalda is another Persian festival, celebrating the first day of winter which is the longest night of the year and people celebrate it by gathering at night and eating a lot of candies and sweets totally irrelevant but appreciated lol.
As a token of her gratitude, she presented the amulet to the princess. Those who possess the amulet are believed to be protected from evil forces and have their wishes granted. It is said that the amulet has the power to guide its wearer towards their true destiny and help them overcome obstacles along the way.

The word Sabzeruz, consists of a mixture of two words. “Sabze” means green and greenery, and “Ruz” means day. The word Sabzeruz would ultimately mean Green day or plants day which is a great name for the birthday of the archon of dendro, Nahida. But it is good to know that such a day actually exists and you might have heard about it in other names like Nowruz. Nowruz is the first day of spring and is the first day of the Solar Hijri calendar and many people all around the world celebrate it as a real festival and the start of their new year. This festival is not limited to Iranians and according to Wikipedia “Nowruz has been celebrated by diverse communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia”.
