Mastering the Arts of Spellcasting in Pathfinder Ultimate Magic

By admin

Pathfinder Ultimate Magic is a supplement book for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. It was published in 2011 by Paizo Publishing and is the second installment in the "Ultimate" series, following Ultimate Combat. This book expands upon the magical aspects of the game, providing new options and abilities for spellcasters. It introduces new classes, archetypes, spells, and magic items that can be used by players or included in a gamemaster's campaign. One of the core features of Ultimate Magic is the introduction of new classes, such as the Magus and the Oracle. The Magus combines martial and magical abilities, allowing players to fight with both weapons and spells.

The closing chapter of Ultimate Magic features a ton of new spells for all casters. Much like the Feats chapter, the number of spells in this chapter managed to find that sweet spot where one doesnt feel overwhelmed, but certainly doesnt feel ripped off either. Paizo continues to use the same tried-and-true formatting of spell blocks which leave very little room for alternate interpretations which means less time debating and more time playing. All of these are good things. On a side note, this is the first book to REALLY get it right when it comes to PDF bookmarking. All of the spells are listed and grouped by alphabet. Twenty-four bookmarks spread across your spells instead of one for the entire spell description section (Core Rulebook) or a different bookmark for each individual spell (APG)

Paizo continues to use the same tried-and-true formatting of spell blocks which leave very little room for alternate interpretations which means less time debating and more time playing. This imaginative tabletop game builds on more than 10 years of system development and an Open Playtest featuring more than 50,000 gamers to create a cutting-edge RPG experience that brings the all-time best-selling set of fantasy rules into the new millennium.
