Hey, I'm actually getting near the end of this voyage of reminiscence!

The Magic Knights and the Calm After the Storm

Last time: Emeraude blew up everything the bad guys!

Now: Hikaru finds herself in a green, vibrant Cephiro? The Cephiro that once was? But she's not actually here. somehow, she's seeing the past, seeing something connected to Emeraude.

But. not entirely happy ones. For the elements that would lead to the upcoming tragedy were, at this point, all in place. And everyone here could see what was coming.

And so, Hikaru gets a direct glimpse of what was going on in their hearts, and the questions and desires they were already grappling with.

Then it all blows away and Hikaru wakes up in bed, Umi and Fuu and even Mokona watching over her. It takes her a bit to wake up enough to remember what was going on before that "dream" - the battle! Eagle! - and once she does, they're quick to reassure her that everything is fine now.

Since Eagle had collapsed, too, it was easy for the Cephiran forces to capture him. So, that battle is over for now. Autozam's battleship is just floating around outside - what are they going to do without their commander?

Eagle's in a much nicer prison than what they stuck Alcyone in - he gets a bed and space to walk around in, encased inside a larger transparent shield! Of course, since he doesn't have magic, he's probably easier to keep confined. They've stripped away his equipment, too, though they let him keep some of his clothes.

And here's his first visitor: Lantis! ~romantic tension~

Debonair's back in her shadow castle, and pretty pissed! But, she's confident that that trick of Emeraude's drained the last of her power from the circlet, and she just has to rest and recover and try again. And meanwhile, she's still got Nova, and they've got plenty more plans for how to mess with Hikaru and everyone! The more fear and despair in the hearts of others, the more power Debonair gains!

Hey, Debonair can pull off a pretty great evil grin too!

Well, there's not much going on right now (for once), so the Magic Knights head over to the civilian area for a bit of rest, ending up playing with kids in the park. There's another insert song, with Fuu showing off her singing ability, and the animators showing off their lack of budget. it's that kind of gentle, languid episode, a spot of peace after all that chaos.

But of course, everyone's still carrying concerns about their situation in the back of their mind. The kids are all talking about a hypothetical new Pillar, mostly. but Hikaru also remembers Lantis and others disapproving of the Pillar System. she's got a lot she's mulling over in that head of hers.

As for Lantis and Eagle: they start with Lantis showing off how intimately he knows Eagle, reaching for the back of Eagle's neck and confiscating a hidden dagger. That Eagle is a sneaky one! But even he can't sneak something like that past Lantis, no.

Eagle's heard quite a lot about Cephiro, and about Emeraude and everything that happened. but now he's actually here. He even heard Emeraude speak just then. It's different to experience these things in person.

Nevertheless, he remains resolute in his goal of becoming the Pillar, no matter how Lantis tries to dissuade him. And Lantis, too, has his own goal.

As these people think over the whole situation and their own personal desires. something is happening elsewhere in the castle.

In a room where no one is watching.

Now, back to the Magic Knights' reverie wait I mean back to them fighting Nova. Because Nova suddenly teleported in somehow, bypassing all their defenses yet again, and attacked! There's kids there and everything!

This time, though, the Magic Knights can handle her pretty well - Hikaru especially. But that's not unexpected. Her plan isn't really about them directly, this time. She has a different point of vulnerability in mind. so when Hikaru stands firm against her, she just starts bragging about how she'll have so much fun torturing and killing Lantis.

And then she's gone again. She just stopped by here in order to dump a whole bunch of worry and fear into Hikaru's heart. Can Hikaru even stop her? It's hard, when she can teleport around so easily!

That was a nice spot of calm, but yet again, it couldn't even last a whole episode. Now, it's right back into chaos and battle and impending doom!

Yeah, no way calm's gonna last even an episode. As for the crown. hmm. I forgot what it was transforming into.

Probably a flower wreath. Mira's gonna be the next Pillar.

Or maybe a living hunk for Tarta.

Or a weird thing for Mokona. Mokona can be the Pillar, right?

Nova's Battle and the Monster's Identity

Last time: Nova left to go kill Lantis after terrifying a bunch of kids in a park! The Magic Knights had better hurry and stop her. but oh no, what's this? Suddenly a whole bunch of monsters are teleporting into the park as well! I guess the castle's defenses just don't mean anything anymore, not against Nova and Debonair.

Umi and Fuu take on the monsters, while telling Hikaru to stop worrying about them and get after Nova. But, now their group is split apart again, and Hikaru will have to face Nova on her own. That's a bit of a victory for Nova already.

Meanwhile, Lantis and Eagle have been staring tensely at each other. But something disturbs Lantis; he senses Hikaru's presence. and then the door blows open and Nova is standing there? Now, Lantis has encountered Nova before, but Eagle hasn't, so Eagle is just staring at her like ". what? Hikaru? wtf?"

Nova tries blasting them right away, but since they're both standing inside the prison shield, it has no effect. That's not at all what the shield was put there for, but hey, right now it's pretty convenient!

Nova eventually melts her way through the shield, though. Time to play!

(Hikaru's still trying to find her way through endless corridors, instead of just teleporting to where she needs to go like a reasonable person.)

Now, Lantis has to defend himself from Nova's assault, while protecting the unarmed Eagle as well! And he is Cephiro's premier Magic Swordsman. but, you know, this is Nova. Remember what she did to Hikaru before? Yeah, Lantis is gonna have a hard time here. And sure enough, he can only delay her a bit before she breaks through his personal shielding as well and a spike of flame lances through his shoulder. Nova's about to finish him before Hikaru even gets here!

Oh look at that, Eagle's not unarmed after all! He had more secret hidden weapons - this one, some kind of wire! See, this is why you should always strip your prisoners and replace their clothes with a striking new outfit in the style of your own culture.

Well, I suppose it worked out, since Eagle is actually helping them right now. But still! It's the principle of the thing!

Eagle, like Lantis, probably can't manage more than delaying her further. But he has to try. He's at least gotten her attention now. Thing is. she came here to kill Lantis because she noticed that Hikaru loved him. And looking at Eagle now. why, Hikaru loves him too! (This is quite a surprise for Eagle.) So now she has two targets!

Yeah, Eagle can bind Nova with those wires, but he can't stop her from casting. And he can't really dodge while still holding her; he's essentially just as bound. He's really in trouble.

. but of course, Hikaru shows up at just the last moment.

Well then. Even more people for Nova to play with!

Hikaru and Nova immediately throw the biggest magical blasts they can summon up at each other. while Eagle's kind of just watching in awe. These girls have access to THIS kind of power.

'Course, Nova didn't come here to give Hikaru her full attention this time. As soon as she can, she takes another potshot at Lantis.

And both Hikaru and Eagle simultaneously call his name in worry.

Lantis dodges that, at least, but Nova keeps up her attacks on him. then steals a quick kiss! And then turns around and teases Hikaru about it! By all rights, the three of them together should be able to stand up to her decently well. but now Lantis is injured, Eagle is mostly unarmed, and Hikaru is in shock and is barely fighting back. Nova's been bouncing back and forth between them well enough that she's actually beating all three of them down!

Meanwhile, Umi and Fuu have been continuing to battle monsters in the park, protecting the children. However, even though these are just generic-looking monsters, they keep getting stronger somehow! Even after Clef sends a bunch of the other characters down to reinforce them, they just can't seem to stop this invasion!

Now, how does that make any sense? Well, see, Debonair has this whole "terror makes me stronger" thing going on. and soon enough Fuu and Umi realize that that's exactly what's happening here. That weird dark orb isn't actually teleporting the monsters in, it's feeding off the fear in the room and creating monsters out of it! Even these ordinary Cephiran children have enough latent magical will to create monsters like this - and without a Pillar around to manage everything, Debonair can take hold of this force herself and twist it to her own ends.

Well, now that they've figured it out, they just have to break the cycle. Just gotta cheer up the kids in the middle of the battle and then things will be easier! Not the easiest thing in the world. but the kids aren't too unreasonable, so they manage it, and then promptly blow up all the rest of the monsters along with the summoning orb.

This ends up being what scares Nova off. Well, she doesn't want to leave, but Debonair calls her up and insists on it. With their distraction cleaned up, surely all the Cephiran forces will converge upon Nova if she stays, and that's too much of a risk.

And that leaves these three together. It's a bit of an awkward situation, what with Nova dragging all of Hikaru's concealed desires and fears to the surface. They're gonna have to sort all these feelings out sooner or later! But, given Lantis's injury and the damage to Eagle's prison, they probably won't get to that immediately.

Anyway. There's been some buildup of Hikaru/Lantis, Lantis/Eagle, and Hikaru/Eagle. and now, this is the first time all three of them have been together! And it's actually pretty interesting? There's moments here showing that they all care about each other, and not the slightest hint of jealousy! It's really not often that you see such fertile ground for a potential poly relationship. Even now, I find it pretty delightful.

Reviews for "Why the Mova Magic Bed is the Best Investment You'll Make for a Goodnight's Sleep"

1. Jennifer - 2 stars - I purchased the Mova magic bed for my daughter and was extremely disappointed with the quality. The bed frame started creaking after just a few weeks of use, and the mattress feels lumpy and uncomfortable. The advertised "magic" features, such as the ability to adjust firmness, were also underwhelming. Overall, I would not recommend this bed as it fell far short of my expectations.
2. John - 1 star - I had high hopes for the Mova magic bed, but it turned out to be a complete letdown. The bed arrived with missing parts, making it impossible to assemble. When I reached out to customer service for assistance, they were unhelpful and took weeks to respond. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating, and I ended up returning the bed for a refund. Avoid this product if you value good customer service and a hassle-free buying experience.
3. Sarah - 3 stars - The Mova magic bed has some nice features, such as the built-in USB ports and the remote control functions. However, the overall build quality is lacking. The bed frame feels flimsy and unstable, and the mattress does not provide adequate support. Additionally, the motorized features are quite loud, making it difficult to sleep without disturbance. While the concept is great, the execution leaves much to be desired. I would advise potential buyers to look for more reliable options in the market.
4. Michael - 2 stars - My experience with the Mova magic bed was disappointing. The mattress is advertised as memory foam, but it feels nothing like it. It lacks the plushness and contouring support that memory foam is supposed to provide. Additionally, the adjustable features of the bed are clunky and difficult to use. The bed also lacks proper ventilation, making it uncomfortably hot during the night. Overall, I regretted my purchase and would not recommend this bed to others.
