Say Goodbye to Cakey Makeup with Missha M Magic Cushion

By admin

The Missha M Magic Cushion is a popular beauty product that has gained a lot of attention in recent years. This innovative foundation offers a convenient and effortless way to achieve a flawless complexion. The cushion is housed in a compact case, making it easy to carry and apply on the go. The unique design features a sponge soaked in foundation, which allows for a controlled and even application every time. The product is dispensed by pressing the cushion with a puff applicator, which helps to blend the foundation seamlessly into the skin. One of the main advantages of using the Missha M Magic Cushion is its lightweight and buildable formula.

An illuminating primer that pairs well with a BB cream to boost adherence and wear time, along with providing a dewy finish and offering moisture, brightening, and wrinkle care effects. Primes skin, prolongs foundation wear time, moisturizes, brightens, and prevents wrinkles. Recommended for all.

Providing a dewy finish, BB Boomer offers moisture, brightening, and wrinkle care effects with ingredients like squalane, moringa, adenosine, and pearl powder. I seriously wonder if there is a patent issue pending with Missha and AmorePacific that will cause these to be yanked off the market because they are so similar to the IOPE.

REVIEW: Missha M Magic Cushion

If you haven’t seen yet, Missha finally released the Magic Cushion and I was thrilled to curate it. With more and more brands fighting to be part of the cushion compact market, it was only a matter of time that a Korean brand associated with one of the best BB creams on the market would come out with a cushion of their own.

For those who are just tuning in: What is a cushion compact? It’s a sponge that is saturated with a sheer, weightless foundation. You dab an applicator into the sponge and pat the applicator directly onto the skin. Convenient packaging and buildable formula make re-application of makeup easy and fast. The formula typically offers multiple benefits including sun protection, moisturizing and anti-aging ingredients.

But let me backpedal a bit. Mini rant time: Missha DID come out with a Magic Cushion Case about a year ago, but I never curated it because I tested it and it was such a miss, that it was embarrassing. Their concept was a random sponge that you squeezed your existing BB cream into it. Sure, it could work if you’re the type to blend several creams into one. But to me, it was a blatant insult to the cushion compact innovation - which, sorry to say, isn’t simply a sponge with foundation squeezed into it. The consistency, texture of the formula is key to the success of the cushion compact. So is the quality and materials the sponge is made out of. You can’t haphazardly threw together a poor representation of a “cushion compact” just to get one out there. -END RANT-

That being said, I forgive Missha because they made up for it with the launch of their Magic Cushion, which I find to be overall a great cushion product.

  • Its blue applicator sponge wicks off just the right amount of the formula from the sponge and applies seamlessly and lightly onto the skin. No caked on coverage which is the benefit of the cushion technology.
  • The formula is reminiscent of the O.G. IOPE Air Cushion because it has SPF 50+/PA+++, is moisturizing and leaves a dewy finish.
  • Sleek white package design that is even thinner than the IOPE Air Cushion.
  • Admittedly, the biggest win is the price. $19 is a steal, almost too good to be true kind of steal. It doesn’t come with a refill, but those who are wishing to make their first leap into cushion compact world, this one would be a perfect way to start out.
  • Currently there are four shades: N21 Light Beige, N23 Natural Beige, N27 Honey Beige, and N31 Golden Beige. We are dying for them to release a more inclusive shade variety and will stock darker shades as soon as they are available!
  • I prefer a dewier finish, which I find IOPE does better. If you prefer matte, Magic Cushion could be a better fit.
  • The Magic Cushion contains 15g, identical to the IOPE - but why do I feel like I ran out of the Magic Cushion much quicker?
  • I seriously wonder if there is a patent issue pending with Missha and AmorePacific that will cause these to be yanked off the market because they are so similar to the IOPE!

"This cushion compact is on par with those made by amore pacific and costs half as much. So easy to apply, added bonus if spf 50. Light coverage but I get complements on my skin when I wear it!" - Michelle G

"I use this when in a hurry and can't "fine tune" with concealer as the coverage is medium for me. I like that it gets me out of the house fast and matched my body color as I'm still a little tanned from summer. The consistency is a bit more matte than I like for myself because I love the dewy feel of the Amore Pacific but of course that's just preference thus still the 5 stars." - Stacie A

"As a tan-skinned girl who loves korean makeup cushions, I often have trouble finding a cushion in my colour and that doesn't have a grey undertone. I wear about an NC35 / Nars Stromboli and #27 is the perfect shade for me! The finish of this product is very natural looking and dewy which I love, and the added SPF is great for summer! I'm adding this to my everyday makeup routine, and will definitely be coming back for a refill once mine runs out." - Safa Z

The cushion compact battle rages on! Can’t wait to see what other brands come out with! What's your go-to cushion compact?

Furthermore, the Missha M Magic Cushion is available in a wide range of shades to suit different skin tones. This inclusivity allows individuals to find their perfect match and achieve a seamless blend with their natural complexion. In addition to its aesthetic benefits, the Missha M Magic Cushion also offers skincare benefits. The formula contains ingredients that nourish and hydrate the skin, leaving it feeling supple and moisturized. This is a significant advantage, as it eliminates the need for an additional moisturizer or primer. Overall, the Missha M Magic Cushion is a versatile and user-friendly beauty product. Its compact design, natural finish, and long-lasting formula make it a popular choice among makeup enthusiasts. Reviews for "The Beginner's Guide to Missha M Magic Cushion: Where to Start"

1. Jane - 1 star
I was really disappointed with the Missha M Magic Cushion. The coverage was really sheer and it didn't cover any of my blemishes or imperfections. It also made my skin look really greasy and oily, even though I have dry skin. The shade selection was also limited, and the one I got was too light for my skin tone. Overall, I would not recommend this cushion to anyone looking for decent coverage and a matte finish.
2. Emily - 2 stars
I had high hopes for the Missha M Magic Cushion, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The cushion itself was pretty dry and didn't transfer much product onto my skin. The coverage was also lacking, as it didn't even out my skin tone or hide any of my redness. It also felt heavy and caky on my face, which was really uncomfortable. I was really disappointed with this product and wouldn't repurchase it.
3. Mike - 2.5 stars
I wasn't impressed with the Missha M Magic Cushion. The texture felt really sticky and it didn't blend well into my skin. It also emphasized my dry patches and made them look even worse. The cushion was also quite small and didn't last very long. It might work better for someone with oily skin, but for me, it just didn't work out. I'll be sticking to my usual liquid foundation from now on.
