This book is solely based on the authors opinions and not facts and the book sucked if you really wanna know . I made the mistake of buying the printed version and I wish I wouldn’t have.

This book is full is personal opinion of practice- while everyone has their own practice, presenting these ideas as common knowledge is immature and even dangerous to people who are new to a magical practice.

This book tries to cover the foundations of Brujeria but leads the reader into dangerous territory of “this is how to do some random spells” in which the reader may not even know what they are doing or what the repercussions are.

Omg this book really really is a disappointment, it was not at all what I expected as I was expecting more in depth the history and practices of brujeria. This author also does not get the history right at all of brujeria- and when I say brujeria I am referring to Mexican brujeria. Brujeria in other Latino cultures all usually have their unique name (Santeria , espiritismo, mesa blanca, Haitian voodoo etc..). This book is pretty much a paraphrased copied version of other (better) previously released brujeria books on the market. This book not only misinformes readers that Mexican Brujeria “has African roots” - when in reality Mexican brujeria has roots in European and indigenous cultures , not African. Also the author talks about the power of the moon and the word “witch” and the history of spell-casting, and also the use of crystals as well as the four elements in witchcraft—- which originated from Europe , so please give the credit to the culture who invEnted. This author should not release any more books until she has properly researched and gives credit to the original contributing culture or source. Also looking at the sources in the reference section, the author used to write this book are not all credible sources. Please do not waste your time on this book.

Reviews for "Mexican Witchcraft and Herbology: Books for the Green Witch"

1. Jane - 2/5 stars - I picked up a couple of Mexican witchcraft books hoping to learn about their rich cultural practices and beliefs. However, I was disappointed with the content. The books seemed to oversimplify and exoticize Mexican witchcraft, making it seem like something out of a Hollywood movie rather than a serious spiritual practice. I was hoping for a more in-depth exploration of the history and traditions, but instead, I found superficial explanations and a focus on spellcasting and potions. Overall, these books did not meet my expectations and left me wanting for more authentic and comprehensive information.
2. Mark - 1/5 stars - As someone interested in different cultures and spiritual practices, I was excited to dive into Mexican witchcraft books. Unfortunately, I soon realized that most of them were filled with inaccurate information and stereotypical portrayals. It felt like the authors were more interested in capitalizing on the current trend of witchcraft rather than providing accurate and respectful representations of Mexican traditions. The lack of cultural sensitivity was evident, and it left a sour taste in my mouth. I would not recommend these books to anyone genuinely seeking to understand Mexican witchcraft.
3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I must admit that the idea of Mexican witchcraft intrigued me. However, the books I read on the subject did not do justice to the complexity and depth of the practice. They seemed to focus more on the sensational aspects of witchcraft, like curses and love potions, rather than exploring the spiritual and healing aspects that I was hoping to learn about. It left me feeling like I only scratched the surface of Mexican witchcraft and missed out on truly understanding its significance in Mexican culture. I would encourage others to seek more authentic and nuanced sources if they want to explore this topic.
