Winter solstice pagan refers to a celebration that takes place during the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year. This is a significant event for pagans, who follow ancient and nature-based spiritual traditions. Paganism is a diverse and inclusive religion that encompasses various beliefs and practices. During the winter solstice, pagans celebrate the return of the sun and the promise of longer, brighter days. This celebration often involves rituals, ceremonies, and gatherings that are held in honor of the winter season and the cycle of life. It is a time to reflect on the past year, express gratitude for the harvest, and set intentions for the upcoming year.

It is a time to reflect on the past year, express gratitude for the harvest, and set intentions for the upcoming year. The pagan winter solstice celebration draws on ancient traditions and folklore from around the world. Many pagans incorporate elements from Norse, Celtic, Native American, and other indigenous cultures into their rituals.

Kitchen Witch Deck

Ok here is one of my pictures for a kitchen witch deck. I am playing around with borders. so nothing is definitive. I am trying to keep some of RWS symbolism. but will add info about aspects of kitchen witchery in the book.

This particular card will discuss divination by reading coffee grounds.

It's a beginning, so please be kind

oh wow!
What a great deck!

The ideas are so good. and your illustrations are so much fun!

The colors and expressions on the faces are really nicely done. Your art has a wonderful playful whimsical quality to it that I am very attracted to!

It is so easy to relate to the images and instances that you are using. and the combination of the RWS with kitchen witchery is genius!

I think the border you are showing in the High Priestess is pretty good. It is subtle and yet holds in the image nicely. I am really big on understated borders. and this one certainly is. I would like it to be not quite so stark black, though. maybe a dark rich brown color. to go with the earthy theme of the deck?

I also really love the practical ideas you have for exploring Kitchen Witchery in each card.

Maybe for the Emperor you can talk about concious consumption? Deliberate chewing and awareness of the food that is eaten. it would fit the image nicely, and speaks of self control, which I think is a very Emperor concept!

I can't wait to see more! you are off to such an excellent start with these!

These traditions often involve the use of fire, candles, and evergreens to symbolize light and life during the darkest time of the year. One common aspect of winter solstice pagan celebrations is the Yule log. This is a large log, typically made from oak or pine, that is burned in a ceremonial fire. The Yule log represents the light and warmth of the returning sun. It is often decorated with ribbons, holly, and other festive symbols. Another important symbol in winter solstice pagan celebrations is the wreath. Wreaths made from evergreen branches are hung on doors or windows as a symbol of protection and prosperity. These wreaths also represent the cyclical nature of life and the eternal spirit. In addition to these traditions, pagans may also engage in meditation, divination, and spellwork during the winter solstice. These practices are intended to align with the energy of the season and set intentions for personal growth and transformation. Overall, winter solstice pagan celebrations are a time to connect with nature, honor the cycles of the earth, and celebrate the return of light during the darkest time of the year. These celebrations are a way for pagans to reconnect with their spiritual beliefs, express gratitude, and set intentions for the future..
