Create a bewitching accessory with a homemade felt witch hat

By admin

Making your own felt witch hat is a fun and creative project that allows you to personalize your Halloween costume. Felt is a great material to use for this craft because it is easy to work with and comes in a variety of colors. The main idea of this project is to create a felt witch hat that reflects your own style and personality. To get started, you will need a few materials including a cone-shaped object to use as a base for the hat, scissors, a hot glue gun, and felt in the colors of your choice. The first step is to measure the base of the cone-shaped object and cut out a circle of felt that is slightly larger. This circle will serve as the brim of the hat.

3. Wrap the felt around until it makes a cone. Cut off the excess.

I don t think it s necessarily because of the candy but because of all the fun events like carnivals, pumpkin patch outings and trunk-or-treats that go on this month. Check out Michaels Halloween Market lookbook or Halloween Pinterest board for some project favorites, including costumes, personalized pumpkins, porch décor and more.

This circle will serve as the brim of the hat. Next, you will need to cut out a strip of felt that is long enough to wrap around the base of the cone-shaped object and tall enough to reach the desired height of the hat. Attach the strip of felt to the base of the cone-shaped object using a hot glue gun.

DIY Witch Hat

The kids have been so excited it’s hard not to be SO excited myself. I don’t think it’s necessarily because of the candy but because of all the fun events like carnivals, pumpkin patch outings and trunk-or-treats that go on this month!!

My daughter, Lily, is especially excited to be dressing up this year and I decided to make her a cute and simple DIY Witch hat from felt. She was excited for me to make it, so I headed to Michael’s to pick up all the supplies. The best part of all was that it ended up costing just a few dollars and is the perfect addition to her witch costume. What I also love is that it’s a great piece to wear on it’s own if YOU want to be a little festive without dressing up a ton. In fact, I think I’ll be wearing it when Lily’s not looking. 😉

Here is what you’ll need to make this adorable DIY Witch Hat…

SUPPLIES:

– Black Felt (2 large pieces) – found at Michael’s

– Embellishments (spiders and crows) – found at Michael’s

– Hot glue gun and sticks

DIRECTIONS:

1. Gather all your supplies.

2. Trace a circle onto your large piece of felt (I used a plate). Cut out and cut half way through the circle.

3. Wrap the felt around until it makes a cone. Cut off the excess.

4. Cut another cirlce a little bit larger than the base of your felt cone. I used the glitter black felt that is more stiff for this.

5. Hot glue the cone to the glitter felt. I hot glued lace around the rim to make it more festive and to hide the hot glue.

6. I then hot glued some spiders and a crow to the hat.

7. From there I cut out a piece of felt (I made mine a heart just because) and hot glued it to a headband we had.

The whole project took just a half hour to do and cost just a few bucks – SCORE!!

And doesn’t Lily look adorable?! LOVE it!!

I wanted to make sure you knew about some awesome things happening at Michael’s right now…

Once the strip is secure, carefully glue the circle of felt to the top of the strip, forming the brim of the hat. To add additional flair to your witch hat, you can cut out shapes or designs from contrasting colors of felt and glue them onto the hat. This is a great opportunity to get creative and add your own personal touches to the hat. Once you are satisfied with the design of your hat, allow it to dry fully before wearing it. Making your own felt witch hat is a fun and easy way to customize your Halloween costume. By using felt and a few basic craft supplies, you can create a hat that reflects your own style and personality..

I was really excited to make my own felt witch hat, but this tutorial was a total letdown. The instructions were vague and unclear, and I ended up with a lopsided, misshapen hat that looked nothing like the picture. I followed the steps and used the recommended materials, but the end result was a disaster. I would not recommend this tutorial to anyone looking to make their own witch hat.

While the idea of making my own felt witch hat seemed like a fun DIY project, I found this tutorial to be quite frustrating. The video was too fast-paced, and the instructor didn't explain certain steps clearly enough. As someone with limited crafting experience, I struggled to keep up and ended up ruining the felt. The final product looked nothing like a witch hat, and I felt like I wasted my time and materials. I think this tutorial could benefit from more detailed instructions and a slower pace.

I was disappointed with this tutorial for making a felt witch hat. The materials listed were not easily accessible, and I had to search multiple stores to find everything I needed. Additionally, the tutorial assumed a certain level of sewing skill that I did not possess. I struggled to follow along with the steps and ended up with a messy, unattractive hat. I think this tutorial would be better suited for individuals with more sewing experience and access to specialized craft supplies. Overall, I was not satisfied with the outcome of this project.
