I traded in my 2017 Highlander for a 2020 Highlander almost a year ago. During the trade, they offered to pay for the damaged windshield and the extra miles I went over plus allowing me to trade in 3 months early. All of this was on the contract but 3 weeks after I got the vehicle, I got a bill from Toyota Financial. I took it to the Sales Manager and told them why I am getting billed $1400 dollars and he said it was a mistake and will get it fixed. 2 weeks later, my bill is brought down to $800. I went back and asked him why am I paying for anything when we had made a deal. He made a copy of my bill and said he will get I handled. I told him the due date is coming up and he suggested I pay and Magic Toyota will send me a check for $800. I agreed to pay only cause I don’t want a ding on my credit report. I still have not recieved any check. Every time I call or go there, the Sales Managers say they will handle it and nothing is getting handled. I would like a call from the GM

I visited Magic Toyota 3/8, did not end up buying a car, but was signed up for a credit card on 3/9? Physically impossible as I was not there. The sales associate took it upon himself to sign me up for a credit card to try and make the deal. Fast forward to 3/18, I open my mailbox to a Toyota credit card I did not authorize or sign for. This is illegal and fraud. I spoke with Toyota credit to report it to the fraud department and they said they would close it but my credit will now be affected from the inquiry. I then spoke with the Director and she basically said its my word against his and hes a trustworthy guy so all she can say was that shes sorry for the miscommunication. There was no miscommunication, The associate knew I did not want a line of credit and specifically said my credit did not need to be ran again. Verbal authorization is not a legal form to apply for a credit card so basically they stole my social security number, and information, and applied for me.

I am rejecting this response because: I would like to request to reopen complaint #******** that I submitted back in March that was closed due to inactivity. The cause for the inactivity was due to the delay of response from the Comenity Capital Bank which is the banking company that I was signed up wrongfully by Toyota which is explained in detail in my original complaint. I requested for their documentation of what was submitted as I did not sign any forms that would allow for some type of credit card - the only forms signed were for loan purposes through Toyota which is what the document that was sent in by Peter from Magic Toyota states. I have now received documentation from Comenity that the account was in fact wrongfully signed up for on my behalf by the employee at Magic Toyota and that they have now closed and sent in a request to credit reporting agencies to have all associated inquires or accounts to be removed. Please see attached.
