Magic Leap Relocates Corporate Headquarters to the Design Center of the Americas in Dania Beach, Florida

Magic Leap, Inc., a developer of novel human computing interfaces and software, today announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from Hollywood, FL to Dania Beach, FL.

Magic Leap, Inc., a developer of novel human computing interfaces and software, today announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from Hollywood, FL to Dania Beach, FL. Magic Leap has executed an eight-year lease for a new principal place of business at The Design Center of The Americas (DCOTA). The relocation is expected to be complete by the end June, 2014.

Magic Leap’s new headquarters has been transformed into a flexible, growth-friendly workplace. The open concept space allows for easy collaboration between teams and individuals. And for those working remotely there is the BEAM mobile telepresence system which allows employees to virtually drop into the office for meetings, and even wander about.

“We've been growing extremely fast and needed a much bigger space,” commented Rony Abovitz, Magic Leap President and CEO. “We also wanted a space that reflected a core belief of ours, that to make truly great products they must also be beautifully designed. The DCOTA building, and its support of the design, technology, entertainment, and arts communities in Florida, perfectly met these requirements.”

The company selected Studio 5 Design + Architecture to collaborate on the design and construction and to help inject the Magic Leap personality throughout the office. “It’s not easy designing a space that supports equally world-class engineers, designers, wizards, and ninjas, but we think in the end we accomplished it,” Abovitz said.

“Magic Leap’s move to DCOTA is an investment in the future, ensuring that we have the very best creative environment and resources to support our rapidly growing team,” said Russell Burke, Chief Financial Officer at Magic Leap. “It’s also a pretty big statement about where we think we will be in the months and years ahead.”

DCOTA is located on I-95 just south of the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, in close proximity to top hotel, restaurant and entertainment venues.

I was excited to visit Magic Springs with my family, but our experience was far from magical. The lines for the rides were incredibly long, and the wait times were unbearable. The park was extremely crowded, making it difficult to enjoy the attractions. The prices for food and snacks were exorbitant, and the quality was subpar. Additionally, the park had limited options for younger children, making it difficult to keep them entertained.
