Dreamy and glassy conditions but very tinny waves. 35 hours ago from Lagide, 3195 km away Donnie Summer

Was lovely out there today, but the secondary swell was makin many of the waves fat. The double ups were beautiful though! 3 days ago from Costa da Caparica, 3259 km away

Flat 4 days ago from Poetto (Cagliari), 2488 km away Setting up nicely for next week! 5 days ago from Pavones, 10084 km away

“Not really a spot for beginners or intermediate surfers.
The waves are also not consistent. Ever. You might get a 2 or 3 day stretch of good waves, but they are really powerful, and the current and the rip tide make for non-stop paddling. It's a quickly (over)growing town, losing it's charm by over commercialization, and the boozing crowd.
The locals are fewer and fewer every month.
Sad, but it used to be a gem, now it's concrete and asphalt.”

“World class waves when conditions are right. Respect the locals. They can get angry with aggressive surfers who don't surf there. Knowing your spot in the line-up will increase your chances of getting waves.”

“Maravi is too conveniently located between Jaffa and Tel Aviv. As a paddle boarder space is always tight and aggressively protected at the main break. “ Oy! SAP!” You can see many shudder but it leads to a very confrontational atmosphere.
Here it’s like no rules wrestling. Quite an antipathy to the free spirit, let’s all help each other beginnings of surfing. Paddlers are breaking the norm and it’s ironic to see some surfers holding on to their tradition.

Go out early and in the water by 6am and you will enjoy 1 hrs peace with some really cool and hospitable folk. Those in the know who appreciate the morning off shore breeze and more space

All the breaks in Tel Aviv are seriously affected by run off from the streets and the parched water ways following torrential rain. The sea goes oily brown for a few days.

I tend to pick my times to glassy seas and real early otherwise I avoid.

There are much better and larger beaches with better behaved folks further north.”

Reviews for "Surfing Forecast Accuracy: How Reliable is the Magic Seaweed Surf Report?"

1. John - 1 star - I found the Magic Seaweed surf report to be incredibly unreliable. More often than not, the conditions described were completely different from what I experienced at the beach. The app claims to have live data, but it was no better than relying on a random online forecast. It's frustrating to drive all the way to the beach only to find flat waves when the app said it would be pumping. I wouldn't recommend using Magic Seaweed for surf reports.
2. Sarah - 2 stars - I was disappointed with the Magic Seaweed surf report because it lacked detailed information. While it provided a general overview of conditions, it didn't offer specifics like wave height, wind direction, or tide times. This made it difficult to plan my surf sessions effectively. Additionally, the user interface was not intuitive, making it a struggle to navigate the app. Overall, I believe there are better surf report apps available that provide more accurate and comprehensive data.
3. Tom - 1 star - I had high hopes for the Magic Seaweed surf report, but it let me down. The app constantly crashed on my phone, making it frustrating and unreliable to use. On top of that, the forecasts were often inaccurate, leading to wasted trips to the beach. I ended up deleting the app and relying on other surf report sources that proved to be more consistent. Magic Seaweed has a long way to go in terms of reliability and user experience.
4. Lisa - 2 stars - While the Magic Seaweed surf report had some useful features, I found their predictions to be inconsistent. One day they would forecast excellent conditions, and the next day it would drastically change to poor conditions without any explanation. It made it challenging to plan surf trips in advance. Additionally, the app didn't provide any local knowledge or insights, which I found lacking compared to other surf report platforms. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the Magic Seaweed surf report and wouldn't rely on it solely for making decisions.
