THE EVOLUTION OF MAGIC WORLD PART 1 Having been in our magic world for over 50 years as a hobbyist and in the magic business since 1975, this “old feller” has seen a lot of changes! None as quick or impactive as the last five years. My evaluation will cover this period of time […]

We here at Stevens Publishing are very excited to work with Pete Biro, on his newest and exceptionally detailed and equally impressive book titled The Real Secrets of the Chinese. He also instituted the Wichita Conclave that moved to Las Vegas where it became the Desert Magic Seminar with big dollar prizes and trophies from Siegfried Roy.

One of Joe's signature tricks is the classic "disappearing object" routine. He starts by showing the audience a small object, like a coin or a ring, and then makes it vanish right before their eyes. The stunning part is when the object reappears somewhere completely unexpected, like inside a sealed envelope or even in someone’s pocket.

Rest in Peace good sir!

He and his son Mark always steered me in the right direction when calling into the shop. I remember Joe and Pete Biro hanging out together at the Castle back in the day.

It was always great talking with Joe when he came to conventions as a dealer. One time, I was looking at an expensive item and he told me to take it to my room and try it out a bit, and if I didn't like it, I could just bring it back to him without buying it. And. those VHS videos were the best!

A genuinely nice guy. I loved working with him, and the builder's conference he hosted a few years ago for Michael Baker, Gimpy, Louie Gaynor, Bill Trotter, and myself was beyond awesome. I will always treasure that he accepted my few products into his list; it brought magic back into my life.

My sincere condolences to Mark and the family. He will be missed.

Such a solid legacy he leaves behind, that will no doubt live on. May he rest in peace.

My first encounter w/ Stevens Magic left no doubt it was a top-notch organization.

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur". Posted: Jan 31, 2023 07:02 pm

Before I moved away, I used to go in the shop and visit with him every weekend. Great memories! He will be missed.

Joe was a class act, and will be very much missed.

Stevens Magic was and is the "Magic Dealer Who Thinks BIG", and was, I think, the foremost PROMOTER of all Magic Dealers ever.

Joe told me many years ago that his Role Model as a Magic Dealer was the late Gene Devoe of Devoe's Magic Den in St. Louis. Gene was my first mentor, and was the man behind the Bro. John Hamman line of Magic.

For those magicians who never had the pleasure of meeting Joe, I will tell you that, in my opinion, he was the best Magic Demonstrator I have ever witnessed, including the late Al Cohen.

Like Gene DeVoe, Joe Stevens had "Chops".

This trick never fails to amaze and leaves the audience questioning what they just witnessed. Another mind-boggling trick that Joe often performs is the "thought reading" routine. He selects a random member of the audience and asks them to think of a word or a number. Without any prior knowledge, Joe is able to accurately guess their thoughts. This astonishing display of mental acuity and intuition never fails to leave the crowd astounded. What sets Joe Stevens' magic apart is not just his technical skill, but also his ability to engage and connect with his audience. He has a natural talent for captivating even the most skeptical of viewers and keeping them entertained throughout his entire performance. Whether it's through his witty banter or his infectious enthusiasm, Joe has a way of making everyone feel like an active participant in his magical world. In addition to his live performances, Joe Stevens has also made a name for himself on television. He has appeared on various magic-themed shows and competitions, where he has consistently wowed both the judges and the viewers with his incredible skills. He has also released instructional videos and books, sharing his secrets and teaching others the art of magic. Overall, **Joe Stevens is a magician who truly knows how to captivate an audience**. His unique style, unrivaled trick selection, and engaging stage presence make him a standout performer in the world of magic. Whether it's a live show or a televised performance, Joe never fails to leave his audience amazed and wanting more. The magic he creates is truly something to behold..

Reviews for "Captivating Audiences: Joe Stevens and his Spellbinding Magic"

1. John - 1 star - The magic show performed by Joe Stevens was very disappointing. The tricks were predictable and lacked any originality. I could see through the illusions and it felt like I was watching a cheap, amateur magic act. Furthermore, Joe's stage presence was dull and unengaging. Overall, it was a waste of time and money. I would not recommend his magic show to anyone.
2. Sarah - 2 stars - I attended Joe Stevens' magic show with high expectations, but unfortunately, it didn't meet them. The tricks seemed outdated and I had seen similar ones before. The pacing of the show was also off, with awkward pauses and unnecessary banter. The lack of charisma and enthusiasm from Joe made it difficult to stay engaged. I left feeling unimpressed and underwhelmed. I think there are much better magic shows out there worth investing in.
3. Mike - 2 stars - I found Joe Stevens' magic show to be quite underwhelming. The tricks performed were average and didn't offer any wow factor. It felt like I was watching a generic magic act that lacked originality. The show lacked proper storytelling and seemed disjointed. Joe's stage presence was also lacking, as he didn't connect with the audience and failed to create a sense of wonder. Overall, it was a forgettable experience.
