notes: yeah, i know it took me a (really) long time to post this but it was a bit… complex (and painful) for me to write so i hope you can forgive me! to be honest, i had another idea for this story but while i was writing the directions changed and it ended up like this, as you can see.. anyway, hope you like it either way and please let me know if i forgot to indicate any trigger.

For you, the concept of time was relative. When you were laughing with your friends or listening to your favorite songs on a sunny afternoon, time seemed to go by way too fast. But when you got sick or had to study for a super important exam, time didn’t seem to pass. When you lost Soobin, every second felt like an endless, cruel eternity. But when you were watching Yeonjun play the piano, there never seemed to be enough time to enjoy the moment.

Your eyes closely followed his graceful movements. The melody he played was upbeat, but it still carried the same melancholy that all his songs had. A hint of sadness that others couldn’t see but was so painfully clear to you, and although a simple smile painted his lips, you could tell there was always something behind the gesture.

Yeonjun was an intriguing person. Spending so much time with him made you see that he had his secrets too. He was always smiling and talking to everyone as if nothing could bring him down. As if he were invincible, immune to life’s slips. But eyes never lie and whenever you looked into his in the music room, you saw yourself. A broken and bruised soul, screaming for help in a vacuum where no one could hear. And now, after an endless time of the void in you heart, you could feel compassion for him.

“And so?” he asked as soon as the song ended, turning his body to face you. “Did you like this one?”

You shook your head, still a little thoughtful. “More lively than what you usually play but I liked it.”

He laughed softly. “I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone.” he explained, picking up the scores and placing them carefully in a folder.

“You’re going already?” you asked, not meant to be desperate or upset but failing. Normally he left as soon as the sun went down, but a quick glance through the huge music room window showed that the sun was still shining through the clouds.

Yeonjun looked at you for a few seconds. Time made him realize more clearly the subtlety with which you showed your feelings. Even though your attitude was still repressed, he could see how expressive and sentimental you really were. He could see that your eyes were brighter, that you were talking more and the smile he so longed to see on your lips seemed closer than ever. Slowly, Yeonjun watched as you blossomed.

“I’m not going home.” he said, his smile widening as he saw your shoulders relax. “But i’d like to take you somewhere, if you don’t mind.”

“Where?” you asked almost immediately, feeling your face heat up as you heard him laugh at your curiosity.

My special place.”

The city was different in the afternoon. There weren’t so many cars, the rush hour chaos had magically disappeared and although it was still possible to notice the usual movement in the shops and restaurants, there were very few people walking the streets. There was little noise and conversation, almost imperceptible against the melody of the wind passing between the flowers of the trees. The sun - still behind the clouds - began to set, hiding between the huge skyscrapers scattered throughout the city.

You were undeniably excited but for most of the way, Yeonjun was quiet. His expression was serious, his hands in his coat pocket, his hair swaying when the light breeze touched them. He looked lost in thought, maybe even distressed. You felt that whatever was going through his head must have to do with where you were going, so you decided to wait.

After a while, you arrived at a park in a higher part of the city. The place looked small, but there were so many beautiful trees around that you couldn’t tell the size for sure. There were a few benches scattered along stone path and apart from you and Yeonjun, there was no one else around. You could hear the soft sound of water in the background, but you couldn’t tell where it was coming from. For some reason you felt restless, a strange sensation spreading in your chest causing you to stop, a million painful thoughts and memories running through your mind.

What if he’d only taken you there to say he didn’t want to see you anymore, as many of your friends have done in the past? What if all this was just for him to give you some bad news? What if your inertia was being too much for him? What if he left?

You were alone for so long that you couldn’t help but wonder if trusting him was the right decision. But Yeonjun, walking a few steps ahead, noticed your fear and turned around, reaching out to you and smiling sweetly as the flower petals that fell from the trees surrounded him in the sunset glow.

In that moment, he looked like an angel.

Your eyes lit up and like magic, all your worries are gone and you decided to give yourself a new chance. A new chance to trust, to know and to let someone new into your life. Silently, he was telling you that as long as he was around, there was nothing to fear so you held his hand.

“We’re almost there”, he squeezed your hand gently, guiding you to a farther part, hidden among the trees.

Yeonjun brushed leaves and branches out of the way with his free hand and when the path opened up, you were speechless. From there, you could see the mountains and even a small part of the city, with the sun setting on the horizon and reflecting in the crystal clear waters of a graceful lake. There were flowering trees around and their fallen petals seemed to dance between you and Yeonjun.

It was like a hidden paradise, a place out of a fairy tale.

“I found this place while thinking about taking my life.” he told softly and for a moment, you doubted you’d even heard those words.

Your eyes searched his desperately, but Yeonjun was looking at the sky, so serene and peaceful. You felt a tightness in your chest, so strong you wanted to scream but before you could, he continued.

“For too long, I’ve been alone. No friends, no family, no place to call home, nothing to hold me anywhere. Just pain and loneliness so… What reason did I have to go on?” he chuckled softly, looking down for a second before your eyes met. “Disappearing forever seemed like the perfect solution to me, until I found you.”

Yeonjun stretched his fingers until he touched your face and only then did you notice the tears running down your cheeks. His expression remained calm and that only made you cry more.

“I had decided that day would be my last. All I wanted was to say goodbye to my only passion… the piano.” he revealed, stroking your face and wiping your tears. “But when you walked through the door to the music room… Everything changed.”

Your heart ached to hear those words. How did you never notice anything? Was his smile so convincing that you couldn’t see the excruciating pain he carried in his chest? How did he manage to give life back into your hands, while thinking about taking his own?

“Yeonjun…” you whispered, choking on your own tears as you held his hands tight, afraid that if you let go, he would disappear.

“When I saw you that day, I felt something I never felt before.” he confessed. “And when I saw how you were listening to me playing, I wanted to live just one more day… Just so I could play for you again.”

Yeonjun wrapped his arms around you, hugging you tight and whispering words of comfort in your ear as you cried like a child, mixed feelings filling your heart. On the one hand, you felt relieved. He was well, alive, and he trusted you enough to open his heart. But on the other, you felt helpless. If you had known earlier, could you have done something else to help him deal with the pain?

“Please, don’t feel guilty.” he whispered, seeming to read your mind while stroking your hair as you finally started to calm down. “You’re the reason I’m here today. Now, all I want is to live my life by your side. You saved me.”

He pulled back a little, holding your face gently in his hands and smiling slightly. “And I know that life hasn’t been kind to you either and that your heart has also been cruelly broken. So I hope I can repay and help you the same way you helped me.”

“Oh, Yeonjun… You already did.” you told, the ghost of a smile passing over your lips. “I fell in love with you… Your music and your presence brought light back into my life and having you here, alive and in my arms, is all I could ever want.”

He smiled and then, with his heart pounding in his chest, Yeonjun leaned over and closed his eyes as your lips met in a sweet, feeling-filled kiss.

Kissing Yeonjun was like walking on clouds and daydreaming. He expressed all his feelings with his actions, making you feel so special and important that you made sure to reciprocate in equal measure. All you wanted was for him to feel as loved as you did. After a while, you broke apart just enough to breathe, leaving your foreheads pressed together.

I’m so in love with you.” he confessed, opening his eyes and pulling away to look at your face.

You felt your heart could burst with happiness, like life finally had meaning again. You knew that Soobin would always have a place in your heart and you kept all the good memories of him in the most special corner of your memory but deep down, you also knew he would want you to be happy. He would like you to move on with your life and following that path alongside Yeonjun seemed perfect. You hoped that wherever he was, Soobin would be proud and happy for you.

“I used to see this place and the world with sad eyes, but now…” Yeonjun smiled, holding your hand tightly as his eyes reflected the glitter of the water. “I want to see everything with a different look. What do you think?”

You looked at him with equally bright eyes and before you could stop yourself, your lips curved up. A beautiful and meaningful smile painted your face and at that moment, Yeonjun swore that he was in paradise.

“I’m so happy to finally see you smile for me…” he whispered. “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this.”

And to his surprise, you laughed. Your hands - so warm compared to his - touched him as gently as he played notes on the piano.

“Thank you for bringing me here.” you said, not letting the smile fade from your lips. “Thank you so much, Yeonjun.

Magic Island txt was supposed to be a thrilling adventure full of mystery and wonder, but I found it to be quite disappointing. The plot was predictable and lacked depth, making it hard to stay engaged. Additionally, the characters felt one-dimensional and lacked any real development. Overall, I was expecting a captivating read, but unfortunately, Magic Island txt fell short of my expectations.

I was really excited to read Magic Island txt, but it ended up being a letdown. The writing style felt juvenile and the story was cliché. It seemed like the author was trying too hard to create suspense, but it just came across as forced. The dialogue also felt unnatural and unrealistic. I had high hopes for this book, but it didn't deliver on its promises.
3. David - 1 star
Magic Island txt was a complete waste of time. The plot was convoluted and confusing, jumping from one unrelated event to another. I couldn't understand the purpose behind many of the scenes, and it left me feeling frustrated and uninterested. The characters were forgettable and unrelatable, making it difficult to invest in their story. I would not recommend this book to anyone.
4. Emily - 2 stars
I found Magic Island txt to be a rather underwhelming read. The pacing was uneven, with some parts dragging on while others were rushed. The world-building was lacking, and I never felt fully immersed in the magical island the author was trying to create. The ending was also unsatisfying and left several loose threads unresolved. Overall, I was disappointed with this book and wouldn't read it again.

Magic Island txt was nothing more than a poorly written, poorly executed attempt at a fantasy novel. The prose was clunky and filled with grammatical errors, making it a chore to read. The dialogue was stilted and unnatural, and the characters lacked any depth or complexity. The plot was predictable and unoriginal, offering nothing new or exciting to the genre. I would not recommend wasting your time with this book.
