It is a trading card game that has captured the hearts of millions of players around the globe. Holger Rune and Patrick Mouratoglou have ended their full-time collaboration after six months together. In the first month, the pair enjoyed success with Rune triumphing at the Stockholm Open and the Paris Masters, which remains the biggest achievement of his career so far. The teenager has become one of the most exciting young talents in tennis and “everything is realistic” says Mouratoglou.

Holger Rune and Patrick Mouratoglou have parted ways after six months, the pair have announced.

Mouratoglou helped Rune move into the top 10 of the ATP rankings and oversaw the 19-year-old’s unexpected Paris Masters win, where he beat Novak Djokovic in a thrilling final.

Rune, who went out in the fourth round of the Australian Open this year, has lost in the last 32 and last 16 at Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

“Thank you so much for your help to the team, Patrick,” wrote Rune on Instagram. “It’s been great learning for me on many levels on and off court and a lot of good energy.

“I will take all your advice with me onwards. See you soon at the academy.”

Mouratoglou added: “Holger! We've successfully completed our mission and ended up having an incredible six-month adventure, exceeding our original plan of three months.

“It was a pleasure to share this journey with you. Your energy and enthusiasm made it even more special.

“I have no doubt that your bright future holds amazing things. I remain your biggest fan and I keep an eye on you with the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy team.”

Mouratoglou has worked with a number of tennis’ leading names, including Simona Halep, Coco Gauff, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Serena Williams.

In December, Mouratoglou exclusively told Eurosport in December that Rune can continue his rapid improvement to become one of the top players in men’s tennis.

"I think everything is realistic," Mouratoglou told Eurosport's Arnold Montgault. "I think if you set limits for yourself, you're not going to get past them anyway, so he's absolutely right to set high goals for himself. It works for him.

"There is no shame in having great ambitions. Holger aims high all the time, but that's also why he is capable of doing great things. He doesn't necessarily set many limits for himself, and if he fulfils his goals, that's great.

"If he doesn't make it, that's okay. He'll put it off for six months, a year, two years, three years, as long as it takes for him to get there.

"I think that depending on your personality, you can experience ambitions as a pressure or, on the contrary, as something that will motivate you enormously. He's someone who likes a challenge, Holger, so I think it makes him feel good.

"World No. 1 next year [2023], is that realistic? Why not. When you can do what he did, anything is possible. Now, it's going to require him to be able to perform like he did in Bercy [at the Paris Masters], all year long, and especially in the Grand Slams and in the Masters 1000, where it counts the most.

"So it's not going to be easy, obviously, but if it were easy to be the best in the world, we'd know already. Is that realistic? It's not unrealistic. It will be extremely difficult, but it is not unrealistic.”

“I love the fact that Rune is trying to channel himself to be as efficient as he can during a match” – Mouratoglou

Patrick Mouratoglou, the coach of Holger Rune (and the co-founder of Tennis Majors) says he loves the fact that the Danish teen is so passionate about the sport and that he tries to channel his emotions in the right manner during matches, in the latest episode of The Eye of the Coach.

Rune’s high-voltage game and personality have seen him propel into the world’s top 10 and become one of the brightest young stars in the game. But at the same time, the Dane has been criticized for showing too much emotion on the court.

He definitely brings a lot of energy and passion to the court. His ambition matches his commitment to work and progress. https://t.co/Buf75DEfMl

Mouratgolou, who has been part of Rune’s coaching team since the last quarter of 2022, opines that Rune he personally likes Rune’s passion and energy on-court even as they work together to utilise that emotion more effectively.

“In Monte-Carlo, in a few matches, he’s been able to take a lot of emotion out, but not in a way that would affect his game and in a way play with the crowd and have the crowd lift him up. And I think it was a big asset for him,” Mouratoglou told Tennis Majors in a new episode of Eye of the Coach.

I love the fact that he’s so passionate on the court and it’s great and I think’s it also great for the crowd.

“Sometimes, it can be negative for him and this is what we work on to try to get out of the way. I think he’s doing well and he’s improving a lot there. I love the fact that he’s so passionate on the court and it’s great and I think’s it also great for the crowd. And I love the fact that he’s trying to channel himself to be as efficient as he can during a match, because when the emotion too big, too high, it also consumes the player. And at some point, the tank can be empty when you need it. And this is what happened maybe in the (Monte-Carlo) final against Andrey Rublev.”

Mouratoglou rune

Holger Rune has announced his partnership with coach Patrick Mouratoglou has come to an end, fuelling rumours about the potential return of Simona Halep after a doping suspension.

Rune started working with Mouratoglou back in early October, following Halep’s suspension, and has gone on to find success under the Frenchman’s supervision.

The 19-year-old went on to win his first ATP Masters 1000 title in Paris and by doing so became the first man ever, other than at the ATP finals, to beat five top 10 players in the same event.

As a result Rune climbed into the top 10 himself, becoming the highest ranked Danish man in history.

Mouratoglou released a statement on social media signalling the end of his partnership with the No.8, “ Holger! We’ve successfully completed our mission and ended up having an incredible 6-month adventure, exceeding our original plan of 3 months. I have no doubt that your is bright. I remain your biggest fan and I keep an eye on you with the @MouratoglouAcad team.”

Rune also took to Twitter to thank Mouratoglou, “I had the opportunity to borrow Patrick for a limited period and we have had 6 educational and fun months together. Now it’s time to move on and use the learning on my own. Thank you Patrick for some great months together.”

The use of the word ‘borrow’ has got people talking, with some suggesting this could be an indication of Halep’s return.

Halep was being coached by Mouratoglou when she tested positive for the banned substance roxadustat, after losing in the first round of the US Open last year.

The Romanian has denied ever ‘knowingly’ taking the substance, and described her suspension as ‘the biggest shock’ of her life.

Mouratoglou, who has also coached Serena Williams, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Coco Gauff, showed support for his player at the time but there has not been a lot of noise since.

There were reports of a potential hearing at the end of February, but other than that the two-time Grand Slam champion’s return date is currently unknown.

Reviews for "The Psychology Behind Magic Card Auctions"

1. Jennifer - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "Magic Cards Auction". The gameplay was repetitive and boring, with no real strategy required. The graphics were also subpar, lacking any sort of creativity or detail. Additionally, the in-app purchases are ridiculously overpriced, making it feel like the developers are just trying to squeeze every penny out of the players. Overall, I would not recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a fun and engaging gaming experience.
2. Brian - 1 star - "Magic Cards Auction" was a complete letdown for me. The concept of the game sounded interesting, but the execution was terrible. The controls were clunky and unresponsive, making it incredibly frustrating to play. The game also lacks any sort of tutorial or instructions, leaving the player to figure out everything on their own. I found myself confused and bored within minutes of starting the game. Save your time and money, and steer clear of this one.
3. Amanda - 1 star - I absolutely hated "Magic Cards Auction". The game seemed like it had potential at first, but it quickly became apparent that it was just a cash grab. The amount of ads in the game is ridiculous, popping up every few seconds and interrupting gameplay. Not to mention, the game itself is incredibly repetitive and offers no real challenge. It's clear that the developers didn't put much effort or thought into this game, and it shows. I would definitely not recommend wasting your time on this one.
4. David - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "Magic Cards Auction", but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The gameplay is extremely repetitive and lacks any sort of depth or strategy. The graphics and animations also leave a lot to be desired, making the game feel outdated and unpolished. The constant need for in-app purchases to progress at a reasonable pace is also off-putting. Overall, I was left feeling bored and unsatisfied with this game.
