I used to have the bois d'amourette (letterwood) Magic Alhambra. Sad story--I was wearing it doubled up and the clasp wasn't properly closed so I lost the alhambra somewhere on the subway. I was able to find the chain, but not the charm. I inquired about purchasing a replacement alhambra, but VCA will not allow. I haven't been able to bring myself to buy a replacement, but I did love it so!

I did try and work with my local SA -she tried to go to bat for me to get a replacement pendant, but no luck. She told me that often they get customers in VCA who want to buy just the chain and that I should think about selling it.

I once had a diamond pendant fall right off my neck due to clasp failure and a Tiffany sales associate helped us to replace it at the cost insurance paid for the claim. (If you have homeowners insurance, fine jewelry may be included with or without a rider depending on the appraisal costs).
I do love the VCA pink gold! I hope you can replace the piece soon and agree that there is a lot of value in just the chain. You might consider getting a rose gold perlee pendant to wear with it. The chain and pendants are sold separately.

I wanted a pendant too, and I tried the Pure Alhambra and Magic Alhambra in onyx-yellow gold.
I found it to be gorgeous but a bit too big, I can't see this piece as an everyday necklace/pendant. I wish there was a size between the magic and the vintage pendant.
I think the clover motif looks best in smaller size.

O.G. Mar 14, 2009 17,609 7,635And just to give you a different point of view. I have several of the long pendants and have really taken to wearing them almost everyday. The white mop has been my favorite this summer, but I've also wore the onyx, letterwood and malachite and a lot too.
It really is a matter of personal taste. I love the pendants because they feel young, hip, and stylish to me all at once. And just so you know, I am not that young, not very hip, and not always very stylish!
The pendants are easy to wear with anything, dressy or super casual. For me, I find them easier to pull on a daily basis than a 10 motif and/or 20 motif -- which I also own several of.
It is a long chain, but the chain can be shortened by 3 1/4 inches by using the jump ring. I wear it on the longest length almost all of the time. When I am sitting somewhere where I think it will hit up against something (like I am right now at my desk), I just put the pendant and chain behind me, on my back until I get up.
I found this picture on Pinterest of all three of the most recent releases.
The onyx looks to me to be clasped at the jump ring, the mop and carnelian are think are placed a little bit higher for the sake of the picture. I love this look but it would be a complete tangled mess on me after a few minutes!
