Williams claimed scaling back the stock of MTG s 30th Anniversary set, the 999 box of booster packs full of non-legal reprints from the game s first years, was not a good short-term financial decision but definitely the right call or the long term health of the brand.

Magic 30th anniversary edition sale mysteriously shuts down early, potentially to avoid more backlash

In a surprise move by Wizards of the Coast, sales for the 30-year Magic: The Gathering anniversary edition box ended after only one hour today.

The 30-year Magic: The Gathering anniversary edition box, priced at $999, has been a hot topic in the Magic community. Players and collectors were upset at the price point of non-tournament legal proxy cards, especially with there being very low odds of even cracking a Power Nine card within one of the four booster packs. Even top streamers from outside the MTG community like MoistCr1tikal jumped into the conversation over the weekend, calling the sale “not cool.”

Sales for the 30-year Magic: The Gathering anniversary edition box started at 11am CT today and abruptly ended at 12pm CT. No reason for the end of the sale was announced by WotC, who used vague wording in a Twitter post that suggests it was shut down as opposed to sold out.

The selling point from WotC’s perceptive was to offer players a chance to get older cards from the Reserve List that are worth thousands of dollars on the secondary market. But the cards offered in the anniversary box were only proxies of those original cards, unable to get played in any tournament-legal MTG formats. And the chance of cracking a Power Nine card in only four booster packs was extremely low for a price point of $999.

Dot Esports reached out to WotC for clarification as to why the 30-year Magic: The Gathering anniversary edition box sale ended after only one hour and WotC responded with the same statement used in its Twitter post: “The 30th Anniversary Edition sale has concluded, and the product is currently unavailable for purchase. Thanks to everyone who joined us today!”

Reviews for "Celebrating a Milestone: 30 Years of Saxles' Mesmerizing Performances"

1. Emily - 1/5 stars - The Magic 30th anniversary saxles were a huge disappointment for me. The sound quality was subpar, with a noticeable lack of clarity and richness in the tone. Additionally, the saxles I received had a loose key mechanism, causing keys to rattle while playing. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with such a poor quality instrument, especially considering the price tag attached to it. I would not recommend these saxles to any serious musicians, as they simply do not meet the standards expected from a reputable saxophone brand.
2. Ryan - 2/5 stars - I have mixed feelings about the Magic 30th anniversary saxles. While the appearance and design of the instrument are visually appealing, the overall playability and reliability were lacking. The saxles felt quite heavy and were not comfortable to hold for long periods, causing strain on my hands and fingers. The keys also had a tendency to stick, making it difficult to navigate through quick passages. In terms of sound, the saxles produced a decent tone, but it lacked the depth and projection I was expecting. Overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed and would not recommend this saxophone to professionals or advanced players.
3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - As an intermediate saxophone player, I was excited to try out the Magic 30th anniversary saxles. However, my experience with this instrument was less than satisfactory. Firstly, the saxles required constant adjustment and tuning, as they did not hold their pitch well. This made it incredibly frustrating to play in an ensemble setting, as I was constantly out of tune. Secondly, the keys felt flimsy and weak, and several of them would stick or get stuck, causing interruptions in my playing. I was disappointed with the overall quality and reliability of these saxles and would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and consistent instrument.
4. Mark - 2/5 stars - I was not impressed with the Magic 30th anniversary saxles. The saxophone had a very dull and lackluster sound, lacking the brightness and projection that I expect from a quality instrument. The intonation was also quite poor, requiring constant adjustments and tuning. Additionally, the saxles had a weak and unstable key mechanism, making it difficult to play fluidly and efficiently. The build quality was also questionable, as I noticed several loose screws and easily scuffed lacquer. Overall, I was disappointed with this saxophone and would not recommend it to serious musicians seeking a reliable and high-quality instrument.
