Putting aside the game for a second, is it worth watching the show? I've looked at the series before but the art style kind of put me off, it looked to me like the series was aimed for a younger audience so I just ignored it.

Would it be worth giving it another shot?

well. I will say I'm a total shill for the show, so it is a yes from me. It looks very childly but you have to remember it is also a Trigger animation. so everyone can enjoy it.

Dont forget the movies: Little Witch Academia and Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade
You can try the first one, and then give a try to the anime, if you liked it.

It is a good show, very charming and heartwarming. However, it might not be for you If you want deep drama or action.

Not sure how much related to Studio Trigger you are, but they are like the Platinum Games of Anime, every show they made is very well done with tons of love and details, animation is always on point. That said this is might be their most chill show talking about action but is still very worth watching.

It's pretty fun for me even though some episodes feel like useless fillers. I was put off by the animation style too but I decided to give it a chance since I like traditional spellcasting in these media. I was not disappointed.

It's understandable why you would be put off by the animation, but keep in mind that this has an advantage: Instead of having detailed, mostly still frames as most animes are, Little Witch Academia (And every Trigger anime, to an extent) uses a lot of constantly-animated, less-detailed frames, along with a lot of western animation techniques, like smearing and blur. It may look weird on individual screenshots, but it allows for a fast-paced, constantly moving anime.

I think LWA is a wonderful anime, and you should definetly try it out! You can either start with the first two OAV, Little Witch Academia (20 min) & Enchanted Parade (50 min), or you can hop on the anime (26 episodes).

Akko's journey from a clumsy and inexperienced witch to a confident and determined individual is both inspiring and relatable. The other main characters, such as her friends Lotte and Sucy, also undergo significant development throughout the series, making them interesting and well-rounded. Another aspect that makes Little Witch Academia enjoyable is its positive messages. The show emphasizes the importance of friendship, perseverance, and believing in oneself. It encourages viewers to chase their dreams, even in the face of obstacles and doubt. Furthermore, Little Witch Academia has a strong sense of humor that adds to its appeal. The comedic moments are well-executed and bring light-heartedness to the story. The show manages to balance comedy and drama effectively, resulting in a well-rounded and enjoyable experience. However, like any show, Little Witch Academia is not perfect. Some viewers might find the storylines predictable or formulaic. Additionally, the pacing at times can be slow, which might make certain episodes feel less engaging. Nevertheless, these minor flaws do not diminish the overall enjoyment of the show. In conclusion, Little Witch Academia is a delightful anime series that offers a magical and inspiring experience. With its charming characters, beautiful animation, positive messages, and sense of humor, it is a show that both children and adults can enjoy. Despite its minor imperfections, Little Witch Academia is undoubtedly worth watching for anyone who appreciates the magic of storytelling..

Reviews for "The Art of Animation in Little Witch Academia: A Visual Feast"

1. John - 1 star:
I recently watched "Little Witch Academia" and I have to say, I was extremely disappointed. The animation quality was lackluster and the storyline was predictable and shallow. The characters lacked depth and development, making it hard to connect with them. Overall, I found it to be a forgettable and unengaging anime. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a compelling and well-executed series.
2. Sarah - 2 stars:
I had high hopes for "Little Witch Academia" but unfortunately, it fell flat for me. The pacing was all over the place, with episodes dragging on and others feeling rushed. The humor mostly missed the mark, and the plot felt like a rehash of other magical school anime. The main character, Akko, was annoying and lacked any real growth throughout the series. While the animation was decent, it wasn't enough to save this mediocre show. I regret spending my time on it.
3. Mark - 2 stars:
I can't understand the hype around "Little Witch Academia". The characters were one-dimensional and the plot was filled with clichés. The magic system was poorly explained, leaving many gaps in the logic. The show tried to be cute and quirky, but it ended up feeling forced and contrived. I was hoping for a magical and enchanting experience, but all I got was a generic and forgettable anime. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they enjoy predictable and unremarkable storytelling.
