Color:
While our ink works on all skin tones, the resulting color will vary person-to-person, because our ink will interact differently with your skin chemistry.
This means that the final result can be anywhere from a blue/green to a dark blue-black- meaning that the color of your tattoo is completely unique to you!
Fade:
Our ink will fade as your skin naturally regenerates! Some factors that determine how long your tattoo will last include:
Daily Activity:
Avoid excessive heat, water or friction cause by exfoliation
Placement:
Spots that may get washed or be exposed to more friction, such as hands or wrists, will generally fade faster.

One of the distinct features of Gandalf is his use of runes and magical symbols throughout the story. Rune tattoos, in general, are tattoos that feature letters or symbols from ancient Germanic alphabets known as runes. These runes were used by ancient Norse and Germanic cultures for writing, divination, and even magical purposes.

(Oh, and I'm not Stephen Colbert.)

So I am wanting to get a Tolkien tattoo. I am wanting to incorporate the tree of Gondor to represent men, the Evenstar to represent elves intertwined on a design on a hobbit door. I am having a hard time representing the dwarves. I was thinking of using the elvish rune that peter Jackson shows on Bilbo's door because that's how the dwarves found him and it represents Gandalf. I want it to be accurate to Tolkien though. What do you think? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

(First, my standard tattoo disclaimer: Your tattoo should be what’s going to make you happy. So even if you find a design that’s more “canon”/“accurate”/etc, choose the design that you like the best.) Okay, now that that’s over with:

The rune on Bilbo’s door would work. I talk about it’s meaning and appearance more in this post, if interested, but it could certainly represent Gandalf and the dwarves (no matter which specific rune you use, the rune system itself was widely used by the dwarves, so it’s a pretty solid symbol.)

Or, if you’re looking for alternatives, I’d suggest you take a look at the Doors of Durin. The doors contain a couple dwarvish symbols - the anvil and hammer were emblems of Durin’s line. And the seven stars were a hugely important symbol not only for the dwarves, but also for the elves - and even the Dunedain (you’ll notice that often the tree of Gondor has seven stars above it.) For more information on these symbols, take a look at this post (or, if you want something more specific about the stars, check out the Valacirca part of this post.)

Good luck! And let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help :)

Each rune has its own meaning and significance, and they can be combined to convey deeper messages or ideas. When it comes to Gandalf rune tattoos, people often choose to incorporate runes that represent Gandalf's character traits or the themes associated with the series. For example, the rune Algiz, which resembles the shape of an arrow, is often associated with protection and divine guidance, making it a popular choice for a Gandalf-inspired tattoo. Other runes like Ansuz, which symbolizes communication and wisdom, or Dagaz, which represents transformation or awakening, may also be used. In addition to individual runes, some people design tattoos that combine multiple runes into a larger symbol or pattern. These can be created to represent specific quotes or moments from the series, or to encapsulate the essence of Gandalf's character as a whole. These combined rune tattoos can be intricate and unique, requiring careful planning and artistry to create a visually appealing design. Gandalf rune tattoos can be a way for fans of The Lord of the Rings to express their love for the series and their admiration for the character of Gandalf. It can also be a personal reminder of the wisdom, leadership, and magical qualities represented by Gandalf. These tattoos can serve as a source of inspiration or as a symbol of protection and guidance for the wearer. Ultimately, the design and meaning of a Gandalf rune tattoo are highly personal to the individual getting it, making each tattoo unique and meaningful in its own way..

I recently got a Gandalf rune tattoo at this studio and I have to say, I am extremely disappointed. The tattoo artist completely butchered the design, and it hardly resembles Gandalf at all. The lines are shaky, and the shading is nonexistent. I was also expecting the tattoo to have a more realistic and three-dimensional look, but it ended up looking like a poorly drawn cartoon character. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality tattoo.

I had high hopes for my Gandalf rune tattoo, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The tattoo artist seemed inexperienced and lacked attention to detail. The lines are wonky and uneven, and there are even some parts where the ink didn't take properly. Additionally, the tattoo is much smaller than I requested, leaving a lot of empty space around it. Overall, I was not satisfied with the result and wish I had chosen a different studio for my tattoo.

I had a Gandalf rune tattoo done here, and while the design itself is nice, the execution is lacking. The artist rushed through the process, and it shows in the final result. Some lines are too thick, while others are too thin, giving the tattoo an uneven appearance. The shading is also inconsistent, and the colors used are not vibrant or well-blended. I regret getting this tattoo done at this studio and would not recommend it to others.
