familiar, in Western demonology, small animal or imp kept as a witch’s attendant, given to her by the devil or inherited from another witch. The familiar was a low-ranking demon that assumed any animal shape, such as a toad, dog, insect, or black cat. Sometimes the familiar was described as a grotesque creature of fantasy, an amalgam of several creatures.

The familiar was believed to subsist by sucking blood from a witch’s fingers or other protuberances on her body such as a mole or a wart. During the European witchcraft trials of the 15th–17th century a suspected witch was searched for the “teats” by which she fed her familiar, and these, like the devil’s brand marks, were considered sure signs of her guilt.

There are two main ways that a Familiar shows themselves to a spellcaster. The first, and by far the most common way, is for the Familiar to spontaneously appear to the human. When this occurs, the Familiar appears nearby with a low-sounding "Pop" and simply walk up to their new master in a friendly manner.

Reviews for "From Sketches to Stickers: The Making of Discord's Green Mascot"

1. John - 2/5 - The Discord green mascot is completely uninspiring and unappealing to me. I find its design to be lackluster and unoriginal. It lacks any distinct features that make it memorable or engaging. I think Discord could have done much better in creating a mascot that reflects the platform's vibrant and dynamic community. Overall, I am quite disappointed with the choice of the green mascot and feel it adds nothing of value to the Discord brand.
2. Emily - 1/5 - The Discord green mascot is just plain ugly. Its simplistic design is unimpressive and looks like something a child could have drawn. I can't find any charm or attractiveness in it. I believe a better mascot could have been created to represent Discord and its diverse user base. The green mascot does not captivate me in any way and it doesn't even seem relevant to the purpose of Discord as a communication platform. It's a miss for me.
3. Lisa - 3/5 - While I don't particularly dislike the Discord green mascot, I feel it lacks personality and charm. It's just a generic green blob that doesn't stand out or convey any sense of identity. I think Discord could have come up with something more visually appealing and eye-catching. The green mascot doesn't evoke any emotions or make me excited about using Discord. It simply feels bland and forgettable. Overall, I think there is room for improvement in the design of Discord's mascot.
