Every October I try and find a new movie that showed up on the shelves at my local big box retailer. It is a wild card and if I’m honest it normally sucks. I mean a horror movie that I haven’t heard of but that made it to the shelves normally means it is not good. With that in mid I thought I’d check out a little Chinese production titled Curse of the Kraken . Hey maybe it is a cool monster movie… it could happen.

Cursee of the kraken

The kraken made a pact with a dark and powerful deity, granting it immense power in exchange for its soul. This pact unleashed a curse upon the kraken, forever binding it to the depths of the sea. Many sailors and adventurers have dared to search for the kraken, enticed by tales of its immense treasure and power. However, those who have encountered the kraken have paid a heavy price. Ships have been torn apart, crews have been lost, and the souls of those who survive are forever haunted by the kraken's curse. The curse of the kraken serves as a warning to those who seek to exploit the powers of the sea. It reminds us of the dangers that lie beneath the surface and the consequences of our actions. It is a reminder that power comes at a price and that some boundaries should never be crossed. While many dismiss the curse of the kraken as mere superstition, there are those who believe in its power. They warn of the consequences of awakening the kraken and urge others to respect the creatures that dwell in the deep. For they know that the curse is real and that those who ignore its warning do so at their own peril..

"Curse of the Kraken" had a promising concept, but it fell short in execution. The writing style was mediocre at best, with cliched dialogue and poor character development. The author failed to create a sense of suspense or build-up, leaving the story feeling flat and uneventful. The climax of the book was also disappointing, lacking the intensity and excitement that one would expect from a tale involving a fearsome sea creature. While the book had potential, it ultimately failed to deliver an entertaining and captivating story.
