The Charismatic Witch: Understanding the Role of Charisma in Magic

By admin

Charismatic witchcraft is a term used to describe a specific approach to practicing witchcraft that emphasizes personal power, intuition, and the use of energy and intention in magical workings. This form of witchcraft places a strong emphasis on the individual practitioner's charisma and ability to connect with and manipulate spiritual forces. At the core of charismatic witchcraft is the belief that each individual possesses inherent magical abilities and has the power to influence the world around them through focused intention and energy work. This belief is often rooted in a deep connection with nature and the recognition of the interconnectedness of all things. One of the key aspects of charismatic witchcraft is the use of ritual and ceremony to create a sacred space for magical workings. These rituals often involve the invocation of deities, spirits, or the elements, and the practitioner may use various tools such as candles, crystals, or herbs to enhance their magical work.

Charismatic Witchcraft

You must learn to follow God and not man. Don’t fall into the trap of idolizing your leader. You must be free from man so that you can do what God wants in your life.

WITCHCRAFT

Unknown witchcraft is commonly practiced in the Christian world by laymen and leaders. This is called charismatic witchcraft. A pastor or leader who tries to control his flock or group is practicing witchcraft. He or she may feel that they know what is best for their people and they try to force it to happen. They may or may not know what is best for others but they have no right to force their will on others. The best example is God, He will not force His Will on us.

We have worked with people who have been controlled by a dictatorial pastor. The pastor has formed soul ties with those who have yielded to his control rather than the direction of God in their lives. It is necessary to forgive the pastor, break soul ties and cast out demons.

If you have left a church that truly does not follow Jesus Christ, then you need to renounce that church or organization, forgive them, break soul ties, and cast out demons. The Catholic Church is a good example of an organization that tries to control their people completely. Many charismatic leaders fall into this trap of trying to control people and their money in order to build their kingdoms whether small or large.

We went to a church where the pastor seemed to let the Holy Spirit have His way in the services. There was a tremendous freedom there and you could hardly wait to get to church to see what God was going to do. Then the pastor decided that it was his church and would be run the way he wanted it to be run for his selfish reasons. After that, the freedom left and it was like any other charismatic church.

THE CURSE OF CHARISMATIC WITCHCRAFT

Another aspect of Ahab and Jezebel is Charismatic Witchcraft. Witchcraft is the practice of trying to control others for personal gain. Charismatic witchcraft is exercising control over other Christians by leaders or by anyone within the congregation. A lot can be written about this subject. There are many demons associated with control of others. This practice is basically mind control.

Soul ties are formed with those to whom we submit our wills. Soul ties can be formed with leaders of the church as well as with anyone in the occult that we go to for help. A dictatorial pastor will form soul ties with his congregation.

The church leaders are cursed by trying to take the place of God in our lives. The congregation is cursed for following man rather than God.

We have no right to control others! God gave us a free will and even He will not try to control us! Therefore, we enter into agreement with Satan and his demons when we attempt to control others, and we are practicing witchcraft!

GENERAL

Witchcraft is the practice of trying to control others for personal gain. Charismatic witchcraft is exercising control over other Christians by leaders or anyone within the church. Charismatic witches use personal prophecy to control others.

Queen Jezebel was a prime example of controlling others. A Jezebelic woman is actually practicing witchcraft as she tries to control her family. Charismatic witches are Jezebels.

A lot can be written about this subject. There are many demons associated with control of others. This practice is basically mind control.

PASSIVE JUDGEMENT

There are those who can’t make clear judgements on issues and misuse the verse to judge not. Many do not realize they are to judge every prophecy, the fruit in our lives and in the lives of others, and on and on. You need to judge everything you see, hear or read. If not, you will be submitted to every wind of evil doctrine and fall into many hurtful traps. I once heard a pastor tell his people they should not criticize him even when he is wrong, neither should they talk about him. I have seen strange things in that church: an unusually large number of divorces, illegitimate children, crimes of theft and forced entry, idolatry, etc. People should be taught to properly make scriptural judgement.

WHAT IS WITCHCRAFT PRACTICED BY CHRISTIANS?

Witchcraft is defined as the power or practices of witches; sorcery; black magic; enchantment; irresistible influence; fascination; bewitching attraction or charm. Enchantment is defined as the act of casting a spell over; the use of magic to charm; the state of being under the influence of a magic spell or charm; a magic spell or charm; something that charms or delights greatly; great delight or pleasure. Also consider the words fascination, charm, captivation, allurement. Witchcraft is simply trying to control others for your own benefit no matter how worthy the cause may be.

God anoints and provides for his ministers to do his work here on earth. The people look to the ministers to help them live according to the Bible. This gives them a power over the people that can be used for good or evil. Silly women look up to the pastors as someone on a pedestal and frequently end up having sex with the weak pastors. Silly men want the admiration of the pastors and try to please the prideful pastors to gain favor. In the positions of the fivefold ministry, it is easy to fleece the flock.

PLAYING GOD IN PEOPLE’S LIVES

When we got into deliverance, people would come to us for help of many different types. They wanted us to go to God and find out what they were supposed to do. They wanted us to be their parents, show them parental love and tell them how to conduct their lives. They wanted to pay us for our help, give us gifts of love, and give us tithes and offerings.

Why would the people come to us for help? The Christian body is hurting and can not find the needed help in the church. The churches refuse to practice deliverance, healing, etc. and teach the whole truth of the Bible. If the people have problems, the church sends them to the world for help. They are sent to the medical profession to be physically healed in the body, to the psychiatric profession to be mentally healed in the soul, to the social profession to be financially healed in the material realm, and in certain ways to the world in general to be spiritually healed such as receiving peace.

The people did not feel that they could hear from God or had a good relationship with Him. They thought that we did since we could help them and that God would speak to us for them. They may have been lazy, ignorant or have some other reason why they wanted to place us as intermediaries between them and God. They may have have had a Catholic or other religious background which caused them to look to man rather than directly to God for guidance.

Their parents did not provide the proper role models pointing them towards God, The Father. It is so important how the parents raise their children. Parents actually are in a position of being like God in the lives of the children. The way a child relates to their parents, especially to the father, is the way the child will relate to God in later life.

Many times when the children do not have good parents, they go through life seeking someone to fill that void in their lives. The parents may not have shown love for them. So, they seek love from others to fulfill that need. The parents may have been absentee parents and not given them guidance. So, they will seek others to guide them. They are still acting like a child even though they are adults.

People are so grateful for what you have done to help them that they are willing to pay you for your services or give you their tithe money. If God told them to give us money, then we would have to accept so that they could be blessed.

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give (Mat. 10:7-8). This is our motto; we love to sing and read it to the forces of evil. It could also be thought of as a great commission to us as well as other Christians. Notice that it said to freely give because that God has freely given to us.

In our early ministry, God told us not to play God in the lives of his people. He was God and God would direct His church. We have tried to do that ever since. We do our best to help people, they do not owe us anything, and they are free to go and never return. This has worked out very well; God has rewarded us for obeying His Instructions.

It is easy to take advantage of the Christian body. God places the five-fold ministry and other spiritual leaders in a position where the people trust them and respect them. The leaders then take advantage of God’s people for their own selfish reasons: build a building, an empire, a ministry, an individual, etc. to satisfy and glorify the individuals in charge of the work. You especially see the leaders taking advantage of the money supplied for the use of themselves, their families and their friends. They take advantage of the women in the church, and sometimes sexually, especially in the black churches.

Summary

Parents are like God in the lives of their children. They should raise the children to have the proper relationship with Father God. The ministry should not act like God in the lives of their congregation. The leaders should train the people to go directly to God for their guidance.

EXAMPLES OF MINISTERS PLAYING GOD

We have seen this pattern through the years as we have ministered to people who have come out of churches and religious organizations, or came out from under the control of a pastor or other leader of that organization. It is amazing to watch the leader work witchcraft on his flock either ignorantly or deliberately to control them.

We have also seen this pattern as we sat in the congregation and had the leaders try to exercise witchcraft over us. We recognized the practice and did not receive it. Most people do not recognize the practice and receive demons. The people open themselves up to demonic attack by their blind allegiance to the leaders and organization, and by accepting, not resisting, the damnable doctrine that was preached. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch (Mat. 15:14).

What happens is that the leader opens the flock up to demonic attack through his actions. The evil spirits assigned over the organization will be there because of the actions of the leader. Soul ties will be formed between the leader and the congregation. The leader will place curses on the followers. The leader will loose certain demons on the congregation due to what he says.

Let’s talk in generalities. If the leader is sexually immoral, then the ruler will be a sexual demon; controls the congregation – witchcraft; steals money from the treasury – covetousness; drinks alcoholic beverages – addictions; glorifies himself – spiritual pride; and on and on. Then the ruler demons will try to cause the congregation to be like the leaders. If the leader is sexually loose, then the people will tend to be sexually loose. The religious organization will go the way of its leaders. A church we went to had three leaders fall into sexual sin; there were many illegitimate children in the church.

What is amazing is to watch these practices in Christians who move in deliverance. A Christian who walks in deliverance should be among the best educated of all Christians and have a better balance about what the Bible says. This is especially true of the deliverance ministers or lay workers. For instance, a pastor will cast out demons of witchcraft that came into the people in his congregation from practices outside of the church on the one hand, and then put demons of witchcraft into people in his congregation through his practices on the other hand.

In one example, the following happened. The pastor instilled fear in his people. He warned them about outside organizations, leaving the church, not submitting to his authority, criticizing him, etc. In the church, they had to obey and not question his authority. Outside the church, they couldn’t leave his church and go to another church. They were paralyzed and were slaves to him. They were fearful of criticizing him and having him attack them from the pulpit. They were afraid to leave the church and lose their salvation. They were afraid of other organizations and people. If the people left, the people that remained could not associate with their dear friends that had left.

The church cursed and prayed against the people that left the church, and against any other group of people that the pastor may have had trouble with. Their actions sent demons to attack these people and organizations.

What were the results of the actions of the leaders? The leaders loosed demons on the people in the congregation and sent demons after the people that had left or had problems with the church. They cursed the people and spoke failure in their lives. The people had soul ties with the leaders.

When the people left the church, they felt that God did not love them, they may be loosing their salvation, they were fearful of many things, they could not function normally in life, they were hurt and rejected by the way they were treated, had pains and illnesses associated with fears, had spiritual pride about being in the only church, had problems forgiving the pastor and congregation about the way they were treated, were deceived about things of God, blamed the Lord for what had happened, and were confused and weakened by the experiences.

When an outside church renounced the practices of this church, the church was attacked by demons sent from the other church. The pastor and congregation had many problems in the church. You had one church praying against the other church. Actually, you had one church cursing the other church and loosing demons to attack the people in the church.

How can these curses fall on leaders, followers and other churches? As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come (Pr. 26:2). The curses fall on the leaders because they ignorantly or deliberately practice witchcraft which is clearly contrary to the Bible. The curses fall on the followers because they ignorantly follow the leaders who are sinning. The curses fall on other churches because they ignorantly practice the Word of God and leave themselves open to curses. The main reason is ignorance or lack of knowledge of the Bible. There are many other reasons such as the leader’s selfishness, follower’s weaknesses and a church’s partial following of the Bible. We all probably have cracks in our armor which allow demons to attack us under certain circumstances.

You must completely break free spiritually and physically from the organization and its leaders. You must renounce the organization and its practices spiritually to God. You must ask God to help you in all of these things, and to have faith and trust in God. To do this requires forgiveness for the leaders and followers, asking God to forgive you for your sins of bitterness, etc., asking God to forgive and bless them, breaking soul ties and curses on your family, casting out demons that came in through soul ties, curses and association with the organization, praying for physical healing, and disciplining your mind not to yield to the programmed thinking of the leaders and demons.

Summary

No person should try to act like God in the lives of others and violate their freewill. Let God direct the actions of His Children. No person should submit their freewill to the leaders and become passive. A passive person is easily demonized because they yield. Both the leaders and the congregation will become demonized.

SEQUENCE OF DEMONIZATION

When people are subjected to these control practices, they become hurt and are influenced by the families of Rejection, Bitterness and Rebellion respectively in that order. They are attacked by the Charismatic Witchcraft demons sent from the leaders to the congregation. They personally submit to the Passive Mind demons by their actions. If people outside of the church have controlled them, then they are attacked by the Witchcraft demons of occult and demonic associations. If they personally have submitted to substances of abuse, then they are attacked by the Witchcraft demons of sorcery, drugs, alcohol, etc. which control the mind.

PRAYER

Our Dear Heavenly And Gracious Father, please forgive us for practicing charismatic witchcraft. We forgive those who have practiced charismatic witchcraft against us. We break the power of the ruler demons over family and organization. We break demonic ties, bonds and caps. We break soul ties to pastors, religious leaders or any Christian who has been trying to control us. We break curses placed on us by submitting our wills to others. We break curses brought by charismatic witchcraft and control. We break the curse of Jezebel and Ahab. We renounce false gifts given by Satan. We drive out demonic works and associated spirits of witchcraft and mind control in The Name Of Jesus Christ as follows.

And just as I thought it was going sound me in my church and many churches alike. This have been a great source and I will be led by Holy Spirit to teach it and pray against all forces to ruin the establishment of church and people. Thank you nay God continue to bless you and grant you peace, wisdom, and all you need for the body of Christ to become fruitful according to the unadulterated Word of God.

Witchcraft is very familiar in pentecostal churches, the great symptoms to realize it is controlling, domination, intimidation, enchantments, seduce to practice all illegitimate activities, creat delusions, evil harm, curse, perform to quench black and white desire. According to Christianity it is the work of the flesh. Though it is practiced apart not from God, and hint it is thus a work collaborating with Stan and his demons. But in reality it is very difficult anyone who could truely according to the bible identify and silence or reveal promised solutions.

Hmm wow! I’m reading and I am so thankful because this is what I am currently experiencing with my church and the church I was apart of before. I heard someone mention Charismatic Witch craft to me yesterday and I had to research it. Thank You so much and will continue to pray and do what is necessary.

wow.. I am reading this article and I am seeing my life 7 years ago.. I remember when I was about to leave a sister ask me if I was not afraid because the pastor keep saying that there is a grace upon his life to prosper and those who leave the church would live in poverty.. There is so much more that I can say. I can actually write a book. Thanks for sharing this article

Karen R says:

I thank God for the revelation of this article. I had a deliverance session with a “Man of God” through him I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and did receive deliverance from my issues. He however starting forming a friendship with me and want me to be on his Ministry board as well as work alongside him in the secular world. Then I felt his feelings getting stronger for me … a soul tie was formed. I tried to question our relationship and feelings and he said everything was “ God ordained “ even though we are both married., As I tried cutting ties he cut me off completely leaving me abandoned, confused and rejected. How could this “ Man of God” become cold and heartless the same one who changed my life. I feel deceived and am asking God to heal and reveal

Laquisha says:

Wow. This is confirmation for me. My husband abandoned me and the kids, moved to a different state to follow some “Apostle”. . .He turnes his back on us for no reason and is under full control of that man and their group. It’s like a cult. He left me financially bankrupt and I ended up losing our home and am now living in a shelter with my children. I always always questioned if this was witchcraft or not. My husband and those people in the group shunned me and told me I was blaspheming the Holy Spirit by accusing that man of witchcraft. But what else could it be if it literally destroyed my whole family and caused my husband to hate me for no reason and turn his back on me and the kids. Charismatic witchcraft. That’s it. I never even heard of that term but it is exactly what has happened to my husband
He seems so brainwashed and cannot make his own decision. This is so devestating and crazy. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been praying so hard but it seems like my husband is a lost cause. But I know God can do anything. Thank you so much for this article. There was so much insight and gives me more to pray about. God bless you.

Shocking Exposure of Charismatic Witchcraft in the Church

When I was born again, I didn’t know there was such a thing as charismatic witchcraft.

I thought all Christians were operating out of the same spirit—the Holy Spirit. I thought we were all on the same team. I thought blind loyalty and submission were the sign of a true disciple because that is what I was taught in the Jezebelic church in which I landed. I spent eight years under the cloud of charismatic witchcraft’s intimidation and control. Now, I’m warning the church against it.

Charismatic witchcraft was around long before anyone used those terms to describe it. Yes, there’s witchcraft in the church. Yes, Christians are practicing charismatic witchcraft. If you ask ten different people for a solid definition of charismatic witchcraft, you’ll probably get ten slightly different answers. Let’s use the definition of witchcraft as a baseline.

The best definition I’ve found comes from the late Derek Prince. In his classic book They Shall Expel Demons, the deliverance minister and spiritual warfare expert pointed to an unnamed dictionary’s definition of witchcraft: “the art or exercise of magical powers, the effect or influence of magical powers, or an alluring or seductive charm or influence.”

Have you ever heard someone say, “He’s got a magical smile.” That’s another way of saying, “He’s got charisma.” Charisma is “a personal magic of leadership arousing special popular loyalty or enthusiasm,” according to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, and “a special magnetic charm or appeal.” In considering both definitions and the personal experiences I’ve had with being the target of charismatic witchcraft, this is my definition:

Charismatic witchcraft is exerting ungodly influence through carnal powers of charisma to seduce someone to think or act according to your will.

Charismatic witchcraft begins as a work of the flesh, but left to run its course this fleshly behavior attracts demon powers. These demon powers work through an individual to manipulate, intimidate, control, and ultimately dominate believers in order to bend their will toward their viewpoint. Charismatic witchcraft is released through tactics such as fear, prophetic flattery, and witchcraft prayers. Charismatic witchcraft practitioners seek their own gain, use sincere people who want to serve God to build their own kingdom, and otherwise use and abuse people for their own purposes.

The Shepherding Movement, also known as the Discipleship Movement, may be the most recognizable memory of charismatic witchcraft that spread like wildfire during the Charismatic movement in the 1970s. In fact, the practice is called charismatic witchcraft because of its rise during this important refreshing. Ironically, Derek Prince was one of the leaders of the movement. God redeemed the experience and gave him revelation on the evil of these practices.

Although the motive for launching the movement was pure, the Shepherding Movement quickly deteriorated into a cult-like environment in which people could not make personal life decisions, including marriage, house moves, and career choices, without their shepherd’s permission. I’ve known folks who have nervously disappeared into their pastor’s office to ask permission to marry another congregant, hoping that their request wasn’t denied and their love wasn’t dashed. And this wasn’t during the Shepherding Movement; this was recent.

Today, this type of charismatic witchcraft manifests as spiritual leaders recruiting volunteers to build their ministries while neglecting to minister to the real needs of hurting people. This is not a new practice. You can find instances in the Bible of spiritual leaders exploiting people to build their kingdoms. In Jeremiah 8, the Lord called out the abuse of prophets and priests, saying, “They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious” (Jer. 8:11 NIV). The root problems of people in the “church” were treated superficially. The pastor’s prominence was more important than the legitimate needs of the congregation.

In such cases, churches become like businesses. The pastor is more like a CEO than a spiritual leader who truly loves the flock. Staff meetings center on marketing initiatives that will bring more people—who will bring more tithes and offerings—into the sanctuary. Church services become about external appearances, but the whitewashed tombs are full of dead men’s bones. It’s religious at best.

Apostles and prophets are employing and deploying charismatic witchcraft to build mega followings with false operations that many do not discern because they are awe-inspired by an accurate utterance. They work in hype and play and prey on people’s emotions to get them to pay. Like me, victims of charismatic witchcraft may not realize they have been bewitched until they fully escape the snare. Charismatic controllers tend to hide behind the guise of spiritual coverings. It takes lovers of truth with spiritual discernment to recognize the sometimes-subtle signs of charismatic witchcraft. And it takes courage to confront it.

It may surprise you to learn that what the world—or even what the Wiccans—call witchcraft is not always one and the same as what the Bible calls witchcraft. For example, when you think of witchcraft, you probably think of black magic or conjuring the dead. Those abominations are covered in the Bible, but that’s not the fullness of witchcraft as God teaches us in the Word. There are two types of witchcraft mentioned in the Bible—witchcraft as a work of the flesh and spiritual witchcraft. But the work of the flesh can open you up to demonic powers that reinforce carnal behaviors.

Sensual, Carnal Witchcraft

The Spirit of God is against witchcraft in whatever form it takes, from divination to magic to rebellion to word curses—to works of the flesh. Paul explained that the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh. What are the works of the flesh? Galatians 5:19-21 lists them: “adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like” (KJV).

Notice that witchcraft is listed right alongside adultery and fornication. Witchcraft is a serious offense in any manifestation. As a work of the flesh, witchcraft violates the First Commandment: “You shall have no other gods before me.” The flesh opposes the move of the Spirit and resists all things spiritual. This is a serious struggle because Paul assures us that those who practice witchcraft will not inherit the kingdom of God (see Gal. 5:21).

But there is yet good news. If you walk in the Spirit, you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (see Gal. 5:16). How do you discern if you are walking in the Spirit? The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When you walk in the Spirit, this fruit manifests. That’s the same way you discern if someone else is walking in the Spirit. Remember, a prophet may be walking in a spirit, but is he walking in the Spirit?

If you know you are disobeying God in an area, repent of this sin, which God views in the same way as witchcraft, and get back in line with the Spirit. If you are cursing people with your negative words of gossip and death, stop practicing this witchcraft and begin blessing. If you are flowing in fleshly witchcraft, crucify your flesh with its passions and desires. If you live in the spirit, walk in the Spirit—and walk free from the practice of witchcraft. Sometimes you don’t discern the witchcraft tactics that fool you because you are, yourself, walking in fleshly witchcraft. Let me say this: If you are walking in carnal witchcraft it’s more difficult for you to discern charismatic witchcraft because you have come into some level of agreement with it.

Rooting Out Rebellion

Practicing witchcraft is a serious sin, and far more Christians are experts at sorcery than you may realize. Remember when King Saul was ordered to utterly destroy the Amalekites and everything they had—man, woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey? Saul found victory in battle against Israel’s enemy by the grace of God, but failed to obey the voice of God when the dust settled. He spared Agag, the king of the Amalekites, and kept the best of the livestock (see 1 Sam. 15:1-9).

Saul proposed that his intention was to sacrifice the animals to the Lord, but there’s no excuse for disobedience. Saul was so stubborn that he at first refused to admit his disobedience. He actually justified his actions. Only after Samuel rebuked Saul did he catch the revelation that obedience is better than sacrifice (see 1 Sam. 15:22). In that rebuke—and in Saul’s response—we find one way Christians are practicing a sin that’s in the realm of witchcraft—through rebellion that arises when the fear of man is greater than the fear of the Lord. Let’s listen in on the exchange:

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice (1 Samuel 15:23-24 KJV).

Unfortunately, Saul didn’t learn his lesson. He continued disobeying God and eventually lost his kingdom. Fear of man was at the root of his rebellion, but rebellion grows from many roots. If you see rebellion operating in your life, find the root and rip it out! You can’t discern the devil’s witchcraft when you are operating in witchcraft.

Saul goes down in Bible history as a witchcraft practitioner and fits the bill of a charismatic controller. Saul led by fear, intimidation, shame, and manipulation. He was known for jealousy and fits of rage when he didn’t get his way. He was rash and presumptuous. He demanded too much of the people around him, operating in paranoia, pride, and control. Saul eventually lost his ability to hear from God and alienated the prophet Samuel and wound up consulting mediums, demonstrating that witchcraft was his god.

You may not see charismatic witchcraft practitioners blatantly operate this way on stage, but if you listen to their words you’ll hear subtle hints. They will talk about how accurate they are prophetically and brag about their exploits. This violates Scripture because Proverbs 27:2 says, “Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.” Prophets tapping into charismatic witchcraft will take credit for the success of others, insisting your alignment with them is what led to your breakthrough.

Charismatic Witchcraft Curses

Prophets who operate in charismatic witchcraft may publicly issue curses against other ministries, complete with timelines. I’ve seen this more than once. A false prophet insisted another minister, who they used to work with, would see their ministry fall apart in 40 days if they did not come to them in repentance. The curse was empty. That same false prophet cursed another ministry, insisting their ministry would fall apart in 30 days because they left his covering. Thirty days came and went and the ministry not only survived, it is thriving since breaking that toxic alignment.

This type of cursing is part of what I call Jezebel’s witchcraft. In 2 Kings 9:22, right before the wicked queen’s demise, Jehu offered insight into an open door for the Jezebel spirit when he told her son, “What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?” (KJV). The spirit of Jezebel is essentially a spirit of seduction that works to escort believers into immorality and idolatry (see Rev. 2:20). And this spirit uses witchcraft against its enemies.

Jezebel’s witchcraft was rooted in rebellion, but the type of witchcraft in this verse refers to incantations and spells. In the modern church world, we call them word curses. Jezebel released a word curse against Elijah that carried a spirit of fear when she sent him this message: “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time” (1 Kings 19:2 KJV). He went running for the hills, hid in a cave, slept in a witchcraft fog, and wished he was dead.

In modern times, word curses aren’t always so dramatic. When we speak negatively over someone’s life—“They will never hold down a job acting like that,” “Their marriage is bound to fail the way he treats her,” “The doctors said he’s going to die in thirty days. Isn’t that sad?”—we are agreeing with the enemy’s plan and giving power to it with our anointed mouths. The power of death and life are in the tongue (see Prov. 18:21). If you are inadvertently—or purposely—releasing witchcraft over people with the words of your mouth, repent and get your mouth back in line with the Spirit of God. Again, if you are operating in witchcraft, it’s hard to discern it when it comes to attack you.

Hype Is Not the Holy Spirit

Strong preaching that gets us up on our feet is healthy. We all need to be stirred up at times, both in our spirit and in our soul, to rise up a little higher. T.D. Jakes is masterful at the art of preaching and teaching and often the congregation shouts him down because the words coming out of his mouth are resonating with a felt need and giving people hope for today—and tomorrow. So they stand and cheer. But the difference between Jakes and practitioners of charismatic witchcraft is the Holy Spirit’s operations are missing from the latter group. The Holy Spirit is not inspiring them.

Practitioners of prophetic witchcraft manufacture revival with hype. It’s interesting that the first definition of hype in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary is a slang word for “a narcotics addict.”2 People who fall prey to charismatic witchcraft often find themselves addicted to the hype that drew them in. The second definition of hype means “stimulate, enliven.” And the third definition is “put on, deceive.” The fourth definition is “deception, publicity.” As you can see, not one of these is something that sounds at all like how Christ operated in His ministry. As a matter of fact, these are antichrist operations.

Let’s look at each one of these definitions briefly for the sake of discerning it when you see it. One of the Greek words for witchcraft in the Bible is pharmakeia, which is tied to narcotics. Hyped up preaching seeks to stimulate your soul but does not feed your spirit. You walk away from the meeting with goosebumps but no real root in you from a true word of God planted in your heart. If the preacher preached the Word, they usually preached it out of context or twisted it, so you have to know the Word well enough to catch the hype.

Hyper grace is a good example. It’s called hyper grace because it hypes people up emotionally to believe we are forgiven once and for at salvation and never have to repent for future sins. The motive behind hype is to get into your emotions, not into your spirit. Charismatic witchcraft practitioners know how to exploit the emotions of people. Advertising and marketing firms exploit our emotions, promising breakthrough weight loss, clear skin, and loving relationships if we use their products. False prophets hype emotions to get you to sow for weight loss miracles, overnight breakthroughs, and the like. I believe in sowing, but you can’t buy a breakthrough.

Selling Breakthroughs

Some years back, a newspaper reporter called me to solicit my opinion on an elderly woman’s so-called “divinely inspired concoctions.” Her little shop of mystic wonderments peddles oils, herbs, sprays, and candles that claim to bring love into your life and even get others to obey your every command. As the reporter described the woman’s mixtures, supposedly potent enough to solve any problem known to man, I couldn’t help but see mental images of the apostle Paul wrestling the beast at Ephesus. But I digress.

The elderly woman has ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a divination sanctum littered with statues and images of various saints. A necklace adorned with charms of the tools each saint works with dangles from her neck, according to the reporter’s observations.

On Tuesdays this oldster fills an aluminum pan with alcohol, lights it ablaze, and purports to chant away evil spirits.

An incense-filled pot meant to ward off the day’s evil guards the back door of her soothsaying studio. Granny acts as trusted advisor to her customers, who share with her problems both large and small. Then she meditates about the issues for a day before mixing a potion of herbs and oils designed to fix what ails them. For this she charges $75—or more—but she offers a 100 percent guarantee and asserts that she hasn’t had an unsatisfied customer yet.

If all that is not troubling enough, here is the clincher. The grandmotherly spiritualist professes a strong sense of faith and belief in the Bible and God. (The question is which Bible and what god?) She admitted that all her knowledge about helping people is “in her head” but alleges it is a gift from above.

So what did I say to the reporter who asked me for my view? I told her what you would say: “No Bible-believing Christian would claim a potion could help someone find and keep love. This is a form of witchcraft, essentially,” I argued in the newspaper article. “It’s not unlike the tarot card reader who proudly displays an image of Jesus in her front office. This woman is merely merchandising lonely people and using a religious mask to make them more comfortable with her deception.”

So here I see a merchandising spirit in operation. I see Jezebel deceiving people, many of whom are probably seeking help for hurts and wounds. I see religion attempting to make divination acceptable in the name of the Lord. I see idolatry. I see divination. I see witchcraft. And the world is not the only place I see it.

As Christians, we are quick to recognize the evil behind the tarot card reader, the aura cleansers, the potion makers—and the diviners with foreign accents who pollute the television airwaves with promises they can’t keep (even at $2.99 a minute). It seems utterly ridiculous that anyone would be foolish enough to shell out $75 a pop for bogus advice and pleasant-smelling concoctions, doesn’t it? I thought so, too, but apparently this level of deception has spread into the Church.

Can You Buy a Double Blessing?

I recently heard a radio commercial on a Christian broadcast. A “prophet” was proclaiming a double blessing and the prosperity oil to bring it into manifestation for anybody who would sow $29.95 into his traveling ministry. How is this any different from the potion-making granny? OK, the radio prophet charges less for his concoction, but it still reeks of merchandising.

“Here she goes, slamming false prophets again.” I can hear my critics now. But if Jehovah’s prophets don’t take a stand against this mess—in the world and in the Church—then who will? That brings me back to the apostle Paul and his wrestling match with the beast at Ephesus.

You remember in Acts 19, a huge ruckus broke out because Paul, as Demetrius the silversmith put it, barged in and discredited those who were manufacturing shrines to the goddess Diana. Demetrius stirred up the whole city against Paul for taking a stand against Jezebel worship. The Bible says there was great confusion after the people, who were worried about losing profits from selling their idolatrous wares, began to cry out in praise of Diana. “Some were yelling one thing, some another. Most of them had no idea what was going on or why they were there” (Acts 19:32 MSG).

We need to know what’s going on and why we are here—to take dominion; to invade the kingdoms of this world and make them to become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ; to set the captives free; to take the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth.

With all this in mind, who could disagree with the need to break the deception over God-fearing believers who are being sucked in with ambiguous prophetic words that proclaim “the first 100 people to sow $638 according to Luke 6:38” will get their long-awaited breakthrough? Don’t get mad at me now. I’m not the only one who has witnessed these things. I hope that you agree that we need to wrestle this beast in the Church. We need to dispel this merchandising spirit from our midst so people are not hoodwinked into buying idols named “breakthrough.” You can’t buy a breakthrough, healing, or anything else from the Lord any more than you can buy love in a bottle sold by a great-grandmother in Florida.

If you go to a meeting where something doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t. If people try to manipulate you for money, run for the door. If ministers are pushing people down at the altar and standing on top of their “slain” bodies—yes, there is a photo of such a thing on Facebook—from such turn away. God is bringing a Third Great Awakening to America marked by signs, wonders, and miracles. We should expect that if the devil can’t stop it—and he can’t—he will try to offer a counterfeit move to fleece the sheep hungry for an authentic outpouring.

I am praying for a Hebrew 5:14 reality in the Body of Christ—that believers would have powers of discernment and would be trained to distinguish good from evil through practice. In these last days, we cannot take everything we see at face value. I am not suggesting suspicion. I’m advocating for righteous judgment, prophetic insight, and spiritual perception. I’m pleading with believers to study the Word of God, fellowship with the Spirit of God, and pray without ceasing.

Ultimately, I’m just suggesting we do what the Bible says we should do: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1 MEV). You can’t read a New Testament epistle without finding a warning about deception. Jesus Himself said, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matt. 24:24).

Witchcraft Prayers and Mind Control

Charismatic witchcraft practitioners want to play God in your life. If they do pray for you, they often pray witchcraft prayers. A witchcraft prayer is when you pray your own will instead of God’s will. Witchcraft prayers are not Spirit-led but flesh-led. Witchcraft prayers unleash demon powers to tempt and seduce people to think and do what you want them to think and do.

There are signs you are under a charismatic witchcraft attack. Confusion is a primary sign. Confusion is part of the curse of the law (see Deut. 28:28). God is not the author of confusion (see 1 Cor. 4:33). If you are confused as to whether something is of God, that may be the first sign that it’s not. A charismatic witchcraft spell works on your identity—or I should say works against your identity in Christ. You become dependent on the leader rather than God to make decisions.

Advanced charismatic witchcraft prayers and spells work to create soul ties between you and the wicked intercessor so that you will feel connected with them and their ministry. That makes it hard to leave. A soul tie is when your soul is knit with another person’s. We see this in Scripture in 1 Samuel 18:1, “Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.” But witchcraft soul ties are dangerous and can be deadly to your spiritual progress in God.

When charismatic witchcraft prayers are released against you, sickness can attack your body, you can feel worn out all the time even though you are sleeping plenty, your emotions can go haywire for no apparent reason, and you can feel alone and lonely. The good news is you have authority over witchcraft and you can break soul ties by aligning your will with the Lord Jesus Christ, repenting for not discerning the assigment quickly, renouncing the witchcraft and relationship with charismatic witchcraft practitioners.

It’s noteworthy that most of the leaders of the Shepherding Movement later renounced what it became. The movement, at its peak, had 150,000 followers who were under fierce control. Bob Mumford, one of the Fort Lauderdale Five who initiated the movement, was on the cover of Ministry Today magazine in January 1990. The words on the cover said, “Discipleship was wrong. I repent. I ask forgiveness.” Derek Prince, who also repented, said, “I believe we were guilty of the Galatian error: having begun in the Spirit, we quickly degenerated into the flesh.”

Let’s all pray that the charismatic witchcraft practitioners will come to repentance because the Bible is clear—they will not inherent eternal life if they continue down this path.

4 Signs of Charismatic Witchcraft

One of the major spirits working in the church is seduction. People are more interested in gaining a platform, money, and influence for self-gain rather than building the kingdom and blessing others. This seducing spirit is working overtime to get preachers to open themselves up to operating in an influence that is not connected to Jesus.

Preachers are using the “gifts of the spirit” as a covert mechanism to attract the attention of people. Recently, I was reading a book from a pastor who went into the occult and came back to the Lord talk explicitly about various parts of Africa and South Africa where they have “witch doctors” that will initiate people into a secret society. The root and open door that witches use is “fame, money, and security for their future”. Many preachers fall for it and end up dealing with years of being demonized by the powers of witchcraft.

One of the witch doctors went on to emphasize to the pastor who had been inducted into their secret society that one of the ways to “gain more power” is to bring more people into their society. The people don’t have to know that this is being done to them they just have to recognize them as their spiritual father or mother.

God’s main objective in the scripture outside of building the church is to build a family. God’s primary method for world domination is the family. The enemy has been fighting for decades in marriages to destroy the family. In 2020 during the height of the riots I read what the organization BLM held as their core values. The website has since been updated but this was the statement: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable,”

One of the main tools for people to be subdued by the influence of charismatic witchcraft through leaders is by the abuse of spiritual authority such by making other people who struggle with the lack of fathers and mothers in their life.

  1. Soul Domination: The most common example in contemporary American culture is a mother dominating her children. Especially her son. There used to be a best selling book in the Jewish community entitled “How To Be A Good Jewish Mother” – One of the lessons was “how to get your son to play the violin in public without using anything else other than guilt”. I have met successful business men who never develop emotional maturity because they would still turn to their mothers for every decision. I think of a family who lost so much because anytime things didn’t go the mothers way she would get migraines. The entire family would begin to tip toe around her illness not to provoke or upset her. She kept them from anything she didn’t want them to do by having migraines.
  2. Unhealthy Infatuation with Receiving Attention From A Minister: Some preachers are using “word of knowledge” as a disguise for Divination. Gaining power and knowledge from the occult to get the influence you are looking to get is not what you should be going after. Some people will travel, give thousands of dollars, and take time away from their family to be in the presence of a minister who will be able to minister to them. When we become more interested in the minister rather than God.
  3. Sacrificing Personal Needs Over The Wants Of The Leaders: There are many people who find themselves under domination of church leaders to the extent that leaders will tell them that they cannot go and fellowship with their own family because it will conflict with their church activities. I have seen families fall apart because the congregation members become slaves to the leaders. Eventually some people have made it out of this demonic influence but it takes a major work of deliverance and God to heal the people. In some cases it takes years before they join a church again and that’s if they even consider returning.
  4. Being Told You Will Be “Cursed” If You Don’t Sow Into Their Life: The members or those who are under the influence of leaders will make an appeal as if they are your “true and only family” forcing you into a what I like to call “FOG” (Fear, Obligations and Guilt). Making people give beyond their means. I have heard of pastors telling their congregation that they will not be able to prosper if they leave their church and sow their tithes somewhere else. I have also known of people whose pastor instructed them to sow on the “increase of value” of their home –– Implying to them that their home is just blessed because they are under their leadership.

It takes a lot of demonic strength to want to control the life of other people in this way. Charismatic witchcraft is founded in seduction. The Aposlte Paul warned timothy of this happening in the ministry.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2Timothy 3:13

This translation says seducers and other translations say “imposters”. The greek word in this passage is enchanters. Enchantment is a major practice of the occult. God is coming to deal with this occult powers. I believe we are going to see the exposure of major “ministers” who have been dealing with occult spirits.

What witch-hunters can teach us about today’s world

It is hardly a new observation that political leaders seeking populist appeal will exacerbate popular fears: about immigrants, terrorists and the other.

President Donald Trump plays to fears of immigrants and Muslims. Benjamin Netanyahu inflames Israeli fears by constantly reminding citizens about the threats around them. And many African leaders bring up fears of satanism and witchcraft. In earlier times, too, American and European leaders invoked threats of communists and Jews.

Such observations explain how leaders use fear to create popular anxiety. But this focus on fear and evil forces, I believe, does something else as well – it could actually contribute to a leader’s charisma. He or she becomes the one person who knows the extent of a threat and also how to address it.

This path to leadership takes place in much smaller-scale situations too, as I have studied in my own work.

In my book “Evil Incarnate,” I analyze this relationship between claims to discern evil and charismatic authority across history, from European and African witch-finders to modern experts in so-called satanic ritual abuse.

These rituals often involve the invocation of deities, spirits, or the elements, and the practitioner may use various tools such as candles, crystals, or herbs to enhance their magical work. The focus is on creating a strong energetic presence and channeling that energy towards specific intentions or goals. Charismatic witches often place a strong emphasis on personal intuition and the ability to connect with and interpret signs and omens from the spiritual realm.

How charisma works

In popular parlance one calls a person charismatic because he or she seems to possess some inner force to which people are drawn.

Social scientists have long perceived this ostensible inner force as the product of social interaction: Charisma, in this interpretation, arises in the interplay between leaders and their audiences. The audiences present their own enthusiasms, needs and fears to the leader. The leader, for his part, mirrors these feelings through his talents in gesture, rhetoric, his conviction in his own abilities and his particular messages about danger and hope.

In sub-Saharan Africa, over the course of the 20th century, charismatic witch-finders swept through villages promising the cleansing of evil. In both Africa and Europe, communities had long been familiar with witches and their modes of attack in general. It has been common in many cultures throughout history to attribute misfortune to witches, who are both a part of society and also malevolent. Misfortunes can thus seem to be the product of human malevolence rather than some abstract divine or natural cause.

Witch-finders, as I see it, have offered four new elements to the “basic” image of witches:

  • They proclaimed the immediacy of the threat of witches.
  • They revealed the new methods witches were using to subvert the village or afflict children.
  • They offered new procedures for interrogating and eliminating witches.
  • And most importantly, they proclaimed their own unique capacity to discern the witches and their new techniques to purge them from community.

The witch-finder could show people material evidence of witches’ activity: grotesque dolls or buried gourds, for example. He – rarely she – could coerce others to testify against an accused witch. Often, he would present himself as the target of witches’ active enmity, detailing the threats they had made against him and the attacks he had suffered.

The witch-finder’s authority over – and indispensability to – the growing crisis of threatening evil shaped his charisma. People came to depend on his capacity to see evil and on his techniques of ridding it from the land. An uncleansed village felt vulnerable, awash in malevolent powers, one’s neighbors all suspect; while a village that a witch-finder had investigated seemed safer, calmer, its paths and alleys swept of evil substances.

Charismatic witchcraft

They may use divination tools such as tarot cards, runes, or pendulums to gain insight and guidance in their magical practice. This intuitive approach allows the practitioner to adapt their magical workings to the specific needs and desires of the moment. Another important aspect of charismatic witchcraft is the belief in the power of personal charisma and charm to influence others and manifest desired outcomes. This may involve the use of spells or rituals to enhance personal magnetism, attract love or success, or gain influence over others. Charismatic witches often work with concepts such as glamour magic, which involves using one's personal energy and appearance to create an aura of attraction and charm. Overall, charismatic witchcraft is a dynamic and fluid approach to practicing witchcraft that encourages the individual practitioner to tap into their own personal power, intuition, and energy to manifest their desires and create positive change in the world. It is a practice that emphasizes the importance of personal charisma, connection with nature, and the ability to harness and direct energy in order to achieve one's goals..
