When I first pulled this shoe out of the box I was excited, I was coming off the high of crushing PRs in my ASICS MetaSpeed Skys and I was ready to try the next plated ASICS runner. Then I put it on my foot, and it just didn’t excite me as the Skys had.
Neutral and light-stability runners will find this a great shoe for speedwork through distance runs but may want to use another shoe perhaps an old pair for more relaxed recovery runs. The ASICS MAGIC SPEED delivers on its promise of comfortable, lightweight cushion; it feels great striking midfoot or heel before rolling the runner forward quickly into toe-off.
The midsole also offers excellent shock absorption, protecting the runner's joints and minimizing the risk of injuries. Additionally, the shoe incorporates Asics' signature Gel cushioning system in the heel and forefoot areas. This further enhances the shoe's comfort and support, allowing for a smooth and comfortable ride.
