Mitsubishi® HVAC age

How to determine the date of production/manufacture or age of Mitsubishi® brand HVAC Systems.

The industry average service design life for most forced air furnaces is 15-20 years, and the industry average service design life for most air conditioning condensing units is 10-15 years. The average service design life of boilers can vary from as little as 10 years to as many as 50 years depending on the type and quality of materials used in their manufacture. Routine upkeep/maintenance, regional weather/climate, and location/placement of the mechanical systems will all play critical roles in the longevity of these systems.

Parent Company: Mitsubishi

Subsidiaries or other related brands: None known at this time

The date of production/manufacture or age of Mitsubishi brand HVAC equipment can sometimes be determined from the serial number located on the rating data plate.

Various serial number styles/formats have been encountered. The two styles we have listed will code the year of manufacture in the first digit. The decade must be assumed based on nearest ANSI code date or condition of the unit.

IF your serial number is not represented in our sample styles, you MUST contact the manufacturer for further assistance in determining the age of the unit.

Example serial number styles/formats found:

Legend: Year is RED ; Month is GREEN ; Week is BLUE

Style 1: 8 9 D00488D -or- 8 X D00488D

Year (fiscal) of manufacture can be determined by using the 1st numerical digit .

The decade must be assumed based on nearest ANSI code date, condition of the unit, and/or refrigerant type used.

The 2nd character represents month of manufacture. (Jan. thru Sept. represented by 1-9; Oct., Nov., Dec. represented by X, Y, Z respectively)

CAUTION: The second position of this serial number can be a number OR letter.

In this example, the unit was manufactured the 9th month of either 2008 or 2018

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

For this Mitsubishi style, the 2nd character of the serial number represents the month of manufacture. Numbers represent months 1 thru 9 while letters X, Y, Z will represent months 10 thru 12 respectively.

Information obtained from the manufacturer indicates Mitsubishi production fiscal year begins in April (4th month) and ends the following March (3rd month). As such, units manufactured during months 1 thru 3 will be designated under the previous year code in the serial number, but may have a differing build date indicating the actual year.

See Image below: which illustrates actual manufacture date of January 2006, but shows the fiscal production date of 2005 by the serial number. January 2006 remains in their fiscal year of 2005 (April 2005 thru March of 2006)

Style 1: 8 001637 T

Year of manufacture can be determined using the first digit of the serial number which indicates the last digit of the production year.

CAUTION: This style is for units with serial numbers ending with the letter "T" ONLY .

The decade must be assumed based on nearest ANSI code date, condition of the unit, and/or refrigerant type used.

Drain pans are made of a plastic and infused with antimicrobial protection, which can greatly reduce the risk of mold and other organic growth in the base of the unit.

V‑Series equipment is designed so that condensate from the condenser section will run out of the unit at the base of the louver panel. The wall sleeve on V-Series does not act as a secondary drain pan, it does however pitch the unit forward to ensure it is sloped to the face of the building. The base pan of the chassis will catch and shed any rain water out. For the evaporator condensate, based on the IMC and section 307.2.3, it needs some type of overflow protection. There are four methods for applying overflow protection*

  1. Auxiliary drain pan with a separate drain line
  2. A separate overflow drain line connected to the primary drain pan in the equipment
  3. An auxiliary drain pan without a separate drain line, but with a water level detection device
  4. A water level detection device at the primary drain line, the overflow drain line, or in the equipment supplied drain pan

*Refer to the IMC for specific details on overflow protection and how it needs applied. The wording above is a summary of approved approaches.

M‑Series equipment condenser section condensate will drain into the primary drain at the base of the unit. If that drain fails, the water will run into the wall sleeve, which is designed to be a secondary pan as well as catch any rain water and shed it to the face of the building. The evaporator drain pan needs overflow protection and one of the four methods referenced above should be applied.

Yes, a float switch is factory installed on M-Series units only. V-Series units do not have factory installed float switches.*

Reviews for "The Rise of Modern Witchcraft: How Witches Are Reshaping Spirituality"

    - Sarah - 1 star - I was really disappointed with "Witches thanksforing 2022." The plot was confusing and all over the place, and the characters lacked depth. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it hard to connect with the story. Overall, it was a forgettable experience and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
    - John - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "Witches thanksforing 2022," but it fell short of my expectations. The pacing was slow, and the story dragged on without much happening. The special effects were lackluster and didn't enhance the viewing experience. The performances were also underwhelming, with the actors failing to bring life to their characters. It was a forgettable film that didn't leave a lasting impression.
    - Emily - 2.5 stars - "Witches thanksforing 2022" had an interesting premise, but it failed to deliver. The execution was messy, with subplots that went nowhere and a lack of overall coherence. The humor felt forced and I didn't find myself laughing at any of the jokes. The film had potential, but it fell flat and ultimately left me feeling unsatisfied. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a die-hard fan of the genre.
