The art is excellent and the premise is enough to draw one in. and then, nothing. The setting is explored very haphazardly, the central conflict is relegated to one or two chapters and left basically unexplained, and the conclusion is hackneyed.

I'm all for happy endings, which this manga appears to have, but it'd be nice for them to be earned. Theo and Marie survived 'til the end, basically, since the conflict was so threadbare as to practically be missing.

I recall being interested in the manga due to the unique cover and the art itself is really beautiful and original. The overall story reminds me of Magnus Bride but I like how the witch was the teacher this time around and it's set in modern Europe too.

The downside eh, I admit I ended up reading it all in one go but I still felt confused by the story near the middle. There are just too many side characters and I kinda felt that the magical system wasn't really explained well to the readers. I ended up following the manga-ka on social media so I hope her new works are better.

Witch of thistld castle

Others whispered that she was a descendant of powerful witches, inheriting her abilities from generations before. Regardless of her ancestry, the Witch of Thistled Castle had mastered the art of magic and commanded respect and fear from all who heard her name. The castle itself was a reflection of the witch's powers and her mysterious persona. Surrounded by a dense thicket of thistles and hidden by a shroud of mist, Thistled Castle appeared unreachable to those who sought it. The castle's architecture was a blend of gothic, medieval, and fantastical elements, adding to its enchanting allure. Legends often spoke of the witch casting spells to protect the castle and the surrounding lands from evil forces. She was said to possess an immense understanding of nature, using her powers to maintain the delicate balance between light and darkness, good and evil. Some believed that her magic went beyond elemental manipulation, allowing her to communicate with spirits and beings from other realms. Despite her formidable reputation, the Witch of Thistled Castle was not perceived as purely wicked. There were tales of her helping villagers in times of need, using her powers for healing and protection. It was rumored that she possessed immense knowledge of herbal remedies and potions, offering relief to those afflicted by ailments and curses. However, not everyone embraced the Witch of Thistled Castle with open arms. Some accused her of using her powers for personal gain, bewitching unsuspecting souls who dared to venture near the castle. Superstitions grew, linking the witch to disappearances, crop failures, and strange occurrences in the nearby village. Regardless of the rumors, the Witch of Thistled Castle remained an enigma, forever intertwined with the castle that bore her name. Her legacy continued to captivate the imaginations of those who heard the tales, leaving behind a shroud of mystery that would endure for generations to come..

Reviews for "The Witch's Curse Lifted: A Triumph at Thistld Castle"

- Emma - 2/5 stars - I was really disappointed with "Witch of Thistled Castle". The story lacked depth and the characters were one-dimensional. The world-building was also subpar, with little explanation of the magical elements in the story. I found myself constantly questioning the logic behind certain events and the motivations of the characters. The writing itself was riddled with grammatical errors and awkward sentence structure. I would not recommend this book to anyone looking for a well-crafted fantasy novel.
- Sarah - 3/5 stars - I had high hopes for "Witch of Thistled Castle" but it fell flat for me. While the concept was intriguing and had potential, the execution was lacking. The pacing was inconsistent, with slow sections dragging on and exciting moments feeling rushed. The characters were also quite forgettable, and I struggled to connect with their struggles and motivations. Additionally, the romance subplot felt forced and unrealistic. Overall, this book had its moments but ultimately failed to deliver a satisfying reading experience.
- Alex - 2/5 stars - "Witch of Thistled Castle" was a disappointment. The plot felt disjointed and lacked cohesiveness. I found myself getting lost and confused, as the story jumped from one event to another without proper transitions.
