The highlight of the evening’s activities will be the Center Street Witches Dance at 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Witches Dance, with dozens of local women dressed as high-fashion sorceresses, began several years ago in the residential neighborhood on West Center Street.

That tradition began after local women saw a viral video of a similar event in Germany.

In 2021, city officials coaxed the witches to move that event a few blocks east to become a part of the Halloween celebration on Center Street in the downtown area.

After a long day, the Center Street celebration will move into the nearby Utah Theatre, which will provide a free screening of Monsters, Inc at 8 p.m. for the small kids and the Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight for the big kids.

The one, the only Rocky Horror Picture Show is an audience participation event that gets both rowdy and messy.

The theater’s management will provide the traditional Rocky Horror props along with tickets, for a nominal fee of $20. No outside props will be allowed.

Tickets are available online at https://TheUtahTheatre.org

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really excited to attend the Utah witch festival, but I left feeling disappointed. The event lacked organization and coordination. There were long lines for everything, from entering the festival to purchasing food and drinks. The vendors were not well-prepared and many ran out of merchandise early on. Additionally, the advertised activities and workshops were overcrowded, making it difficult to fully participate and enjoy them. Overall, the Utah witch festival did not live up to my expectations.
2. Michael - 1 star - The Utah witch festival was a complete waste of time and money. The event had a poor selection of vendors, with most selling cheap and overpriced items. The workshops and presentations were uninformative and lacked depth. It seemed like the organizers put little effort into curating a diverse and engaging program. The workshops and classes that were advertised as educational and informative ended up being shallow and uninspiring. Moreover, the festival lacked a sense of community - most attendees seemed more interested in taking selfies and posting on social media than actually immersing themselves in the witchcraft culture. I left feeling underwhelmed and regretting my decision to attend the Utah witch festival.

The workshops and presentations felt rushed and lacked depth. The event schedule was poorly planned, with overlapping activities and inadequate breaks in between. The overall atmosphere was lackluster, lacking the vibrant energy I expected from a witch festival. Overall, the Utah witch festival had some highlights but was ultimately a disappointment.
