My Amerigo has a vintage Thetford Aqua Magic, it looks similar to the Starlite/Galaxy style toilet.

Has anyone removed one of these old pains in the backside before?

Shouldn't be difficult, but it is in a tight location. Usually the bottom cover comes off and then you can get to the mounting bolts that hold it to the flange.

I purchased the Thetford Aqua Magic Galaxy Starlite Substitute for my RV and I am extremely disappointed with its performance. I was excited to try the Thetford Aqua Magic Galaxy Starlite Substitute as it was advertised as a great alternative to the original. However, I was let down by its poor quality. The seat constantly wobbles and feels unstable, which is a major inconvenience when trying to use it. Moreover, the flushing lever broke after only a month of use, rendering the toilet completely useless. Overall, I am unsatisfied with this product and would not purchase it again.

The Thetford Aqua Magic Galaxy Starlite Substitute was a waste of money for me. The flushing power is extremely weak and it often requires multiple flushes to get rid of waste properly. The seat is uncomfortable and the overall construction feels flimsy. Furthermore, the installation process was complicated and time-consuming. Save yourself the frustration and look for a better RV toilet option.

I had high hopes for the Thetford Aqua Magic Galaxy Starlite Substitute, but it failed to meet my expectations. The flushing mechanism frequently gets stuck and does not fully rinse the bowl, leading to unpleasant odors. The seat is also uncomfortable and lacks proper padding. I regret purchasing this toilet and would advise others to seek out better options.
