A high school student and food delivery driver accidentally unleashes an ancient pagan spirit by kicking over the jack-o'-lantern protecting a customer's home. Curse of Crom is a bit of a throwback to kidventure and gateway horrors of the '80s with a group of friends attempting to stop the spirit. It has old school effects and doesn't rely on modern hyperactive editing and pacing. The movie gets exposition heavy at times in its lore building and could have used a couple more appearances of Crom but those are minor complaints. It's refreshing to see a family friendly horror movie that's not wall to wall comedic relief - there are humorous moments but they're more character based - and actually takes its story seriously. It's a fun gateway horror that's loaded with Halloween atmosphere including decorations and autumn leaves everywhere.
Found this new Halloween horror on Tubi. There's a cool looking practical monster based on Irish folklore named Crom Cruach chasing around some dimwitted high-schoolers. Feels like a more teen oriented episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark. There's a dorky character providing most of the comic relief that kinda looks like The Rock. The film is nothing special but it was nice to see another Halloween spirit from a different culture being used. Decent gateway horror.
I had fun watching this. It’s based on the Irish folklore of Crom Cruach! This movie is filled with kid-friendly, gore-free Halloween goodness. There’s not a lot going on here in terms of practical effects, they save the “big one” for the end finale. Overall, a good take on the “let’s solve the mystery to break the curse” theme. They should have added comedy to the genre listing because almost all of the characters are goofy, and watching this produced some chuckles. Highlights:

HOOP X, the 15th FakeVoorhees wrote it best, gotta defer to him. Irish mythology in the suburbs, a monster is set loose, gotta bury him to seal the ritual, ah whatever. One's patience wanes with these things now and then. Not much nourishment in this project, either as a worthy new horror story or as affectionate Halloweentime cosplay in movie form. It gets by on relative innocence and bearing a modicum of production values despite a clearly thin budget. May remind you of something like "The Gate" (1987) or a monster-of-the-week "Buffy" episode, and is fueled by a "Monster House" energy. But it gets tiresome for lack of wit, and never properly makes a name for itself in any way. For use only after exhausting all other '80s and '90s young adult horror options first.
Thought this was a fun story with likable characters and a good cast.

👻👻Halloween Horror👻👻 Teens must stop a Irish entity by midnight on Halloween that they released before it reeks havok on the whole town. My great neice and nephew wanted to watch this. We all had a good time. The entity gave them a scare a couple times. The atmosphere was creepy at times. The young actors did a good job and was likable. This movie felt so much like Halloween so if you can't seem to get in the spirit of Halloween, give this one a try. It's fun and just enough creepiness for the ones that aren't in to all that blood and gore. This is what Halloween is about!🎃 These are just my personal opinions!

Lighthearted Halloween romp that worked well to alleviate some of those post holiday hangover blues. A tad bit talky but the character development and the feel good vibes that this thing puts off made for an enjoyable viewing. Particularly enjoyed the laid back group dynamics and the cheeky humor that they all shared. Half point deduction for no Conan easter eggs though. I mean, I know that it's not that Crom, but seriously, how awesome would it have been if Steve showed up dressed like Thulsa Doom? Fun stuff.
What a great scary movie! I never heard of this. A young High School girl, Mary who finds her old nasty neighbor dead. And here comes Halloween. Of course there is a scary creature involved! Not too complicated but scary enough! I was also cheering on nice guy Harvey who liked Mary! Watch it close of Halloween at night, with some friends and popcorn!
"There's some ancient death god on the loose." Not only did Georgia hide under the bed, she brought the cup of instant noodles with her. That alone deserves a thumbs-up. Fun movie. Great cast. 🍜
Random pick and I liked it! After her neighbor dies suddenly, Mary and her friends start seeing a creepy monster as the days creep closer to Halloween. Uncovering history that leads them to believe the monster is Crom, an Irish legend, they set out to destroy it. This didn't feel weighed down by lore or over-exposition. The character relationships were easy to catch onto and everyone felt pretty unique to each other. Tanner Gillman as Harvey was definitely giving me Steve from Stranger Things vibes and I liked that all the friend group seemed to be dorks (with the exception of Stephanie, who made up for it by being so incredibly weird). It was silly and the plot line between Mary and her father wasn't heavy-handed and sweet.
This movie will be atmosphere and folk horror driven but have some humor along the way. The characters were likable and makes you stick around for the runtime along with the somewhat good story B in the movie. Also Crom was a legit folklore creature from Ireland so good on the writers on making this movie have some backstory to it. Overall this was a decent watch for the Halloween season or whenever you want a light folk horror movie to watch.

A delightful, lowbudget Halloween love letter that balances the Pumpkinhead-like monster scenes with real life issues like paying for college and dickheaded dads. The dialog is realistic and good natured and usually kind of funny. If you wanted a companion piece to Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, this felt very similar in tone. Fun and perfect for October.
